protection circuit.Ifthe motor stopsduring the
seat adjustment, wait30seconds, thenreactivate
the switch.
. To avoid discharge ofthe battery ,do not operate
the power seatsforalong period oftime when the
engine isnot running.

CAUTION:
. The battery couldrundown ifthe seat heater
is operated whiletheengine isnot running.
. Do not use theseat heater forextended
periods orwhen noone isusing theseat.
. Do not putanything onthe seat which
insulates heat,suchasablanket, cushion,
seat cover, etc.Otherwise, theseat may
become overheated.
. Donot place anything hardorheavy onthe
seat orpierce itwith apin orsimilar object.
This may result indamage tothe seat heater.
. Any liquid spilled onthe heated seatshould
be removed immediately withadry cloth.
. When cleaning theseat, never usegasoline,
thinner, orany similar materials.

position, becertain theyarecompletely
secured inthe latched position. Ifthey are
not completely secured,passengers maybe
injured inan accident orsudden stop.
Walk -inmechanism (Three-rowmodel):

The second rowseats cantiltand slide foreasy entry/
exit to/from thethird rowseats.
WARNING:
After operating thewalk -inmechanism, besure
to return theseat tothe rearmost positionand
then tiltupthe seatback untilitlatches.
CAUTION:
. When operating thewalk -inmechanism,
push andhold theseatback andoperate
slowly. Ifthe seatback istilted down quickly
and then allowed toslide, thereisarisk that
it could contact yourfaceorother partsof
your body, orpinch yourhand orfoot,
causing injury.
. When operating thewalk -inmechanism, be
sure nottocontact anymoving partsto
avoid possible injuriesand/ordamage.
. When operating thewalk -inmechanism, be
sure thatthesecond rowseats arenot
occupied bypassengers and/oranyobjects
to avoid possible injuriesand/ordamage.
. Donot operate thewalk -inmechanism with
objects, drinks,etc.on the seat. Thismay

safety systems. Theymayprovide additional
protection againstinjuryincertain rearend
collisions. Adjustable headrestraints mustbe
adjusted properly, asspecified inthis section.
Check theadjustment aftersomeone elseuses
the seat. Donot attach anything tothe head
restraint stalksorremove thehead restraint. Do
not use theseat ifthe head restraint hasbeen
removed. Ifthe head restraint wasremoved,
reinstall andproperly adjustthehead restraint
before anoccupant usestheseating position.
Failure tofollow theseinstructions canreduce
the effectiveness ofthe head restraint. Thismay
increase therisk ofserious injuryordeath ina
collision.
. Your vehicle isequipped withahead restraint that
may beintegrated, adjustableornon-adjustable.
. Adjustable headrestraints havemultiple notches

. The non-adjustable headrestraints havesingle
locking notchtosecure themtothe seat frame.
. Proper Adjustment:
Ð For theadjustable type,alignthehead restraint
so the center ofyour earisapproximately level
with thecenter ofthe head restraint.
Ð Ifyour earposition isstill higher thanthe
recommended alignment,placethehead
restraint atthe highest position.
. Ifthe head restraint hasbeen removed, ensure
that itis reinstalled andlocked inplace before
riding inthat designated seatingposition.

worn lowacross thefront ofthe pelvis orthe
pelvis, chestandshoulders, asapplicable;
wearing thelapsection ofthe belt across
the abdominal areamust beavoided. Ser-
ious injury mayoccur ifaseat beltisnot
worn properly.
. Position thelapbelt aslow and snug as
possible aroundthehips, notthewaist. A
lap belt worn toohigh could increase the
risk ofinternal injuriesinan accident.
. Donot allow morethanoneperson touse
the same seatbelt. Each beltassembly must
only beused byone occupant ;it is danger-
ous toput abelt around achild being carried
on the occupant's lap.
. Never carrymore people inthe vehicle than
there areseat belts.
. Never wearseatbelts inside out.Belts
should notbeworn withstraps twisted.
Doing somay reduce theireffectiveness.
. Seatbelts shouldbeadjusted asfirmly as
possible, consistent withcomfort, toprovide
the protection forwhich theyhave been
designed. Aslack beltwillgreatly reducethe
protection affordedtothe wearer.
. Every person whodrives orrides inthis
vehicle shoulduseaseat beltatall times.
Children shouldbeproperly restrained inthe
rear seat and, ifappropriate, inachild
restraint system.

. Do not run thebelt behind yourback or
under yourarm.Always routetheshoulder
belt over your shoulder andacross your
chest. Thebelt should beaway fromyour
face andneck, butnotfalling offyour
shoulder. Seriousinjurymayoccur ifaseat
belt isnot worn properly.
. No modifications oradditions shouldbe
made bythe user which willeither prevent
the seat beltadjusting devicesfromoperat-
ing toremove slack,orprevent theseat belt
assembly frombeing adjusted toremove
slack.
. Care should betaken toavoid contamina-
tion ofthe webbing withpolishes, oilsand
chemicals, andparticularly batteryacid.
Cleaning maysafely becarried outusing
mild soap andwater. Thebelt should be
replaced ifwebbing becomes frayed,con-
taminated ordamaged.
. Allseat beltassemblies includingretractors
and attaching hardware shouldbeinspected
after anycollision byaNISSAN dealer.
NISSAN recommends thatallseat belt
assemblies inuse during acollision be
replaced unlessthecollision wasminor
and thebelts show nodamage andcontinue
to operate properly. Seatbeltassemblies
not inuse during acollision shouldalsobe
inspected and,when necessary, replacedif
either damage orimproper operation is
noted.
. Itis essential toreplace theentire assembly
after ithas been worninasevere impact
even ifdamage tothe assembly isnot
obvious. .
Once thepre-tensioner seatbelthasacti-
vated, itcannot bereused. Itmust be
replaced togetherwiththeretractor. Contact
a NISSAN dealer.
. Removal andinstallation ofthe pre-ten-
sioner seatbeltsystem components should
be done byaNISSAN dealer.
CHILD SAFETY

The vehicle's seatbelts maynotfitthem
properly. Theshoulder beltmay come too
close tothe face orneck. Thelapbelt may
not fitover their small hipbones. Inan
accident, animproperly fittedseatbeltcould
cause serious orfatal injury.
. Always useanappropriate childrestraint
system.
Children needadults tohelp protect them.Theyneed
to be properly restrained. Theproper restraint depends
on the child's size.

Large children

Children whoaretoo large forachild restraint system
should beseated andrestrained bythe seat belts that
are provided.
If the child's seating position hasashoulder beltthat
fits close tothe face orneck, theuse ofabooster seat
(commercially available)mayhelp overcome this.The
booster seatshould raisethechild sothat theshoulder
belt isproperly positioned acrossthetop, middle
portion ofthe shoulder andthelapbelt islow onthe
hips. Thebooster seatshould alsofitthe vehicle seat.
Once thechild hasgrown sothat theshoulder beltis
no longer onornear theface orneck ofthe child, use
the shoulder beltwithout thebooster seat.Inaddition,
there aremany types ofchild restraint systems
available forlarger children thatshould beused for
maximum protection.
