the windshield wiperswitch inadver-
tently.
. Donot operate thewindshield wiperwhile
the wiper armispulled up.The wiper arm
may bedamaged.

The headlight cleaner(ifequipped) willalso operate
with operation ofthe windshield washer.SeeªHead-

The wiper willalso operate onceabout 3seconds after
the washer andwiper areoperated. Thisoperation isto

The rain-sensing autowiper system canautomatically
turn onthe wipers andadjust thewiper speed
depending onthe rainfall andthevehicle speedby
using therain sensor located onthe upper partofthe windshield.

T o turn therain-sensing autowiper system off,push up
the lever tothe ªOFFº position, orpull down thelever
to the other.
CAUTION:
. Donot touch therain sensor andaround it
when thewiper switch isin the AUTO
position andtheignition switchisin the
ªONº position. Thewipers mayoperate
unexpectedly andcause toan injury ora
wiper damage.
. When thewindshield glassiscoated with
water repellent, thespeed ofthe rain-sen-
sing auto wipers maybehigher eventhough
the amount ofthe rainfall issmall.
. Besure toturn offthe rain-sensing auto
wiper system whenyouuseacar wash.
. The rain-sensing autowipers maynotoper-
ate ifrain does nothitthe rain sensor evenif
it is raining.
. Using genuine wiperblades isrecom-
mended forproper operation ofthe rain-

protect itsmotor. Ifthis occurs, turnthewiper

snow orice onand around thewiper arms.In
approximately 1minute, turntheswitch onagain
to operate thewiper.
Reverse synchronization function:

When thewindshield wiperswitch ison, moving the
shift lever tothe ªRº (Reverse) positionwilloperate the
rear window wiper.

rear tires aresame size;Tires should berotated every
10,000 km(6,000 miles).

direction ofwheel rotation afterthetire rotation is
completed.
In the case thatFour-Wheel Drive(4WD) andfront &
rear tires aresame size;Tires should berotated every
5,000 km(3,000 miles).
Tires marked withdirectional indicatorscanonly be
rotated between frontandrear.
Make surethatthedirectional indicatorspointinthe

completed.
In the case thatfront tiresaredifferent sizefrom rear
tires; Tirescannot berotated.

a straight andlevel road, orifyou detect uneven or

windshield washerorifthe wiper blades chatter when
operating thewindshield wipers,waxorother materials
may beonthe windshield and/orwiperblades.
Clean theoutside ofthe windshield surfacewitha
washer solution ormild detergent. Your windshield is
clean ifbeads donot form when rinsing withwater.
Clean theblade bywiping itwith acloth soaked ina
washer solution oramild detergent. Rinsetheblade
with water. Ifyour windshield isstill notclear after
cleaning theblades andusing thewipers, replace the
blades.
