When theshift lever isshifted intotheªRº (Reverse)
position, themonitor displayshowstheview tothe rear
of the vehicle.
The system isdesigned asan aid tothe driver in
detecting largestationary objectstohelp avoid
damaging thevehicle. Thesystem willnotdetect small
objects belowthebumper andmay notdetect objects
close tothe bumper oron the ground.
WARNING:
Failure tofollow thewarnings andinstructions
for proper useofthe RearView Monitorcould
result inserious injuryordeath.
. The RearView Monitorisaconvenience but
it is not asubstitute forproper backing.
Always turnandlook outthewindows, and
check mirrors tobe sure thatitis safe to
move before operating thevehicle. Always
back upslowly.
. The system isdesigned asan aid tothe
driver inshowing largestationary objects
directly behindthevehicle, tohelp avoid
damaging thevehicle.
. The system cannotcompletely eliminate
blind spots andmay notshow every object.
. Underneath thebumper andthecorner
areas ofthe bumper cannotbeviewed on
the RearView Monitorbecause ofits mon-
itoring rangelimitation. Thesystem willnot
show small objects belowthebumper, and
may notshow objects closetothe bumper or
on the ground.
. Objects viewedinthe RearView Monitor
differ fromactual distance becauseawide-
angle lensisused. .
Objects inthe RearView Monitorwillappear
visually opposite thanwhen viewed inthe
rear view andoutside mirrors.
. Make surethattheback doorissecurely
closed whenbacking up.
. Donot putanything onthe rearview camera.
. When washing thevehicle withhigh pres-
sure water, besure nottospray itaround the
camera. Otherwise, watermayenter the
camera unitcausing watercondensation on
the lens, amalfunction, fireoran electric
shock.
. Donot strike thecamera. Itis aprecision
instrument. Otherwise,itmay malfunction or
cause damage resulting inafire oran
electric shock.
CAUTION:
Do not scratch thecamera lenswhen cleaning
dirt orsnow fromthelens.

WARNING:
. The distance between objectsviewedinthe

tance. Objects inthe rear view willappear
visually opposite fromthose viewed inthe
inside andoutside mirrors.
. Onasnow-covered orslippery road,there
may beadifference betweenthepredictive
course lineand theactual course line.
. The displayed linesonthe rear view will
appear slightly offtothe right because the
rear view camera isnot installed inthe rear
center ofthe vehicle.

When themonitor displays thefront viewand
the steering wheelturnsabout 90degrees or
less from theneutral position, boththeright and
