If arisk ofaforward collision isdetected, theforward
emergency brakingsystemwillprovide thefirst
warning tothe driver byflashing theforward emer-
gency braking systemwarning lightandproviding an
audible warning.
If the driver applies thebrakes quickly andforcefully
after thewarning, andtheforward emergency braking
system detects thatthere isstill thepossibility ofa
forward collision, thesystem willautomatically increase
the braking force.
If the driver doesnottake action, theforward
emergency brakingsystemissuesthesecond visual
warning (red)andaudible warning. Ifthe driver
releases theaccelerator pedal,thenthesystem applies
partial braking.
If the risk ofacollision becomes imminent, theforward

conditions, thesystem mayhelp thedriver avoida
forward collision ormay help mitigate theconse-

The automatic brakingwillcease underthefollowing conditions:
. When thesteering wheelisturned asfar as
necessary toavoid acollision.
. When theaccelerator pedalisdepressed.
. When thereisno longer avehicle detected ahead.
If the forward emergency brakingsystemhasstopped
