conjunction withthesupplemental front-impactair
bag. Working withtheseat beltretractor andanchor, it
helps tighten theseat belttheinstant thevehicle

vehicle andthen drive thevehicle atspeeds above25
km/h (16MPH) .These operations arerequired to
activate theTPMS andturn offthe low tirepressure
warning light.
Depending onachange inthe outside temperature,
the low tirepressure warninglightmayilluminate even
if the tirepressure hasbeen adjusted properly.Adjust
the tire pressure tothe recommended COLDtire
pressure againwhenthetires arecold, andreset the
TPMS.
If the low tirepressure warninglightstillcontinues to
illuminate aftertheresetting operation, itmay indicate
that theTPMS isnot functioning properly.Have the
system checked byaNISSAN dealer.

TPMS malfunction:

If the TPMS isnot functioning properly,the low tire
pressure warninglightwillflash forapproximately 1
minute whentheignition switchisplaced inthe ªONº
position. Thelight willremain onafter the1minute.
Have thesystem checked byaNISSAN dealer.

ing System (TPMS)º (P.5-4) .
WARNING:
. Ifthe light does notilluminate withthe
ignition switchplaced inthe ªONº position,
have thevehicle checked byaNISSAN
dealer assoon aspossible.
. Ifthe light illuminates whiledriving, avoid
sudden steering maneuvers orabrupt brak-
ing, reduce vehicle speed,pulloffthe road to
a safe location andstop thevehicle assoon as
possible. Drivingwithunder-inflated tires
may permanently damagethetires and
increase thelikelihood oftire failure. Ser-
ious vehicle damage couldoccurandmay
lead toan accident andcould result in
serious personal injury.Check thetire pres-
sure forallfour tires. Adjust thetire pressure
to the recommended COLDtirepressure
shown onthe tire placard toturn thelow tire
pressure warninglightoff.Ifyou have aflat
tire, replace itwith aspare tireassoon as
possible.
. After adjusting thetire pressure, besure to
reset theTPMS. Otherwise, theTPMS will
not warn oflow tirepressure.
. When aspare tireismounted orawheel is
replaced, theTPMS willnotfunction andthe
low tirepressure warninglightwillflash for
approximately 1minute. Thelight willre-
main onafter the1minute. Contact your
NISSAN dealerassoon aspossible fortire
replacement and/orsystem resetting.
. Replacing tireswiththose notoriginally
specified byNISSAN couldaffect theproper
operation ofthe TPMS.
CAUTION:
. The TPMS isnot asubstitute forthe regular
tire pressure check.Besure tocheck thetire
pressure regularly.
. Ifthe vehicle isbeing driven atspeeds of
less than 25km/h (16MPH) ,the TPMS may
not operate correctly.
. Besure toinstall thespecified sizeoftires
to all four wheels correctly.
Malfunction warninglight(red) (diesel
engine model)

When theignition switchisplaced inthe ªONº
position, themalfunction warninglightilluminates in
red. This means thatthesystem isoperational. After
starting theengine, thewarning lightturns off.
For theorange Malfunction IndicatorLight(MIL),see
ªMalfunction IndicatorLight(MIL)º (P.2-18) fordetails.
If the malfunction warninglight(red) illuminates
continuously whiletheengine isrunning, itmay
indicate anengine control system malfunction. Have
your vehicle inspected byaNISSAN dealer.You do not
need tohave yourvehicle towedtothe dealer.
CAUTION:
Continuing vehicleoperation withoutproper
servicing ofthe engine control system could
lead topoor driveability, reducedfueleconomy,
and damage tothe engine control system, which
may affect thevehicle's warranty coverage.

Supplemental RestraintSystem(SRS)

When theignition switchisin the ªONº position, the
Supplemental RestraintSystem(SRS)airbag warning
light illuminates forabout 7seconds andthen turns off.
This indicates theSRS airbag system isoperational.
If any ofthe following conditions occur,theSRS air
bag system and/orpre-tensioner seatbeltneed
servicing. Havethesystem checked, andifnecessary
repaired, byaNISSAN dealerpromptly .
. TheSRS airbag warning lightremains illuminated
after about 7seconds.
. The SRS airbag warning lightflashes intermit-
tently . .
The SRS airbag warning lightdoes notcome on
at all.
Unless checked andrepaired, theSRS airbag system
and/or pre-tensioner seatbeltmay notfunction

V ehicle Dynamic Control(VDC)warn-

When thewarning lightblinks whiledriving, thedriving
condition isslippery andthevehicle's tractionlimitis
about tobe exceeded.
If the VDC/ESP warninglightilluminates whilethe
engine isrunning orwhile driving, itmay indicate that
the VDC/ESP systemisnot functioning properlyand
may need servicing. Havethesystem checked, andif
necessary repaired,byaNISSAN dealerpromptly .If a
malfunction occurs,theVDC/ESP functionisturned
