The system isnow activated. If,during this20-
second timeperiod, thedoor isunlocked bythe
remote controller, theIntelligent Key orthe request

position, thesystem willnot activate.
Even when thedriver and/or passengers arein
the vehicle, thesystem willactivate withall
doors locked andtheignition switchoff.Place
the ignition switchinthe ªONº position toturn
the system off.
If the system malfunctions, theshort beep
sounds 5times whenthesystem isactivated.

security systemautomatically shiftsintothearmed
phase. Thesecurity lightbegins toflash once
every approximately 3seconds. If,during this30
seconds pre-armtimeperiod, thedoor isun-
locked, orthe ignition switchisplaced inªONº ,
the system willnot alarm.
Even when thedriver and/or passengers arein
the vehicle, thesystem willactivate withall
doors, hood,andback doorlocked withthe
ignition switchinthe ªLOCKº position. When
placing theignition switchinthe ªONº position,
the system willbereleased.
Theft warning systemoperation:

NISSAN ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (NATS)

The NISSAN Anti-Theft System (NATS) willnotallow
the engine tostart without theuse ofthe registered
NA TS key.
If the engine doesnotstart using theregistered NATS
key ,it may bedue tointerference causedby:
. Another NATS key.
. Automated tollroad device.
. Automated paymentdevice.
. Other devices thattransmit similarsignals.
Start theengine usingthefollowing procedure:
1. Remove anyitems thatmay becausing the
interference awayfromtheNATS key.
2. Leave theignition switchinthe ªONº position for
approximately 5seconds.
3. Place theignition switchinthe ªOFFº orªLOCKº
position, andwait approximately 10seconds.
4. Repeat steps2and 3again.
5. Start theengine.
6. Repeat thesteps above untilallpossible inter-
ferences areeliminated.
If this procedure allowstheengine tostart, NISSAN
recommends placingtheregistered NATS key sepa-
rate from other devices toavoid interference.

object whiletheAround ViewMonitor isdisplayed, an
indicator isdisplayed andatone issounded bythe
corner sensor function towarn thedriver.
The color ofthe corner sensor indicator andthe
pattern ofthe tone varyaccording tothe distance to
the object.
K eep thecorner sensors (located onthe front andrear
bumper fascia)freefrom snow,ice and large
accumulations ofdirt. Donot clean thesensors with
sharp objects. Ifthe sensors arecovered, theaccuracy
of the corner sensor function willbediminished.
The tone sound andthesensor indicator displaycan
be turn on/off, andthevolume ofthe tone sound and
the sensor detection rangecanbeadjusted. (See
ªDriver Assistanceº (P.2-21) .)
WARNING:
. The corner sensor function isnot designed
to prevent theobject.
. The colors ofthe corner sensor indicator and
the distance guidelinesinthe front/rear
view indicate different distances tothe
object.
. Inclement weathermayaffect thefunction of
the corner sensor system; thismay include reduced
performance orafalse activation.
. This function isdesigned asan aid tothe
driver indetecting largestationary objectsto
help avoid damaging thevehicle. Thesystem
will notdetect smallobjects belowthe
bumper, andmay notdetect objects that
are too close tothe bumper oron the
ground.
. Ifyour vehicle sustains damagetothe
bumper fascia,leaving itmisaligned orbent,
the sensing zonemaybealtered causing
inaccurate measurement ofobstacles or
false alarms.
CAUTION:
Keep theinterior ofthe vehicle asquiet as
possible tohear thetone clearly.
MOVING OBJECTDETECTION (MOD)
FUNCTION (ifequipped)

The Moving ObjectDetection (MOD)system can
inform thedriver ofmoving objects whendriving outof
garages, maneuvering intoparking lotsand inother
such instances.
The MOD system detects movingobjects byusing
image processing technologyonthe image shown on
the display .The rear view camera isequipped withthe
automatic washerfunction usingwindow washerfluid.
The MOD system operates inthe following conditions
when thecamera viewisdisplayed:
. When theshift lever isin the ªPº (Park) orªNº
(Neutral) position(CVTmodel) orthe shift lever is
out ofthe ªRº (Reverse) position(MTmodel) and
the vehicle isstopped, theMOD system detects
the moving objects inthe bird's-eye view.The MOD
system willnotoperate ifthe outside mirror
is moving inor out orifeither doorisopened.
. When theshift lever isin the ªDº (Drive) position
(CVT model) orthe shift lever isout ofthe ªRº
(Reverse) position(MTmodel) ,and thevehicle
speed isbelow approximately 8km/h (5MPH) ,
the MOD system detects movingobjects inthe
front view.

Read andunderstand thelimitations ofthe
parking sensor(sonar) system ascontained
in this section. Thecolors ofthe corner
sensor indicator andthedistance guidelines
in the front (ifequipped)/rear viewindicate
different distances tothe object. Inclement
weather orultrasonic sourcessuchasan
automatic carwash, atruck's compressed-
air brakes orapneumatic drillmay affect the
function ofthe system; thismay include
reduced performance orafalse activation. .
This function isdesigned asan aid tothe
driver indetecting largestationary objectsto
help avoid damaging thevehicle. Thesystem
is not designed toprevent contactwithsmall
or moving objects. Alwaysmoveslowly.
. The system willnotdetect smallobjects
below thebumper, andmay notdetect
objects closetothe bumper oron the
ground.
. The system maynotdetect thefollowing
objects.
Ð Fluffy objects suchassnow, cloth,
cotton, glass-wool, etc.
Ð Thin objects suchasrope, wireand
chain, etc.
Ð Wedge-shaped objects
. Ifyour vehicle sustains damagetothe
bumper fascia,leaving itmisaligned orbent,
the sensing zonemaybealtered causing
inaccurate measurement ofobstacles or
false alarms.
CAUTION:
. Keep theinterior ofthe vehicle asquiet as
possible tohear thetone clearly.
. Keep thesensors (located onthe bumper
fascia) freefrom snow, iceand large accu-
mulations ofdirt. Donot clean thesensors
with sharp objects. Ifthe sensors are
covered, theaccuracy ofthe sensor function
will bediminished.
