minute.
. Ifthe electronic parkingbrakemustbe
applied whiledriving inan emergency, pull
up and hold theparking brakeswitch. When
you release theparking brakeswitch, the
parking brakewillbereleased. .
While pulling upthe electronic parking
brake switch during driving, theparking
brake isapplied andachime sounds. The
electronic parkingbrakewarning lightinthe
meter andinthe parking brakeswitch
illuminate. Thisdoes notindicate amalfunc-
tion. Theelectronic parkingbrakewarning
light inthe meter andinthe parking brake
switch turnoffwhen theparking brakeis
released.

Depending onthe weight ofthe vehicle andtrailer and
the steepness ofthe slope, theremaybeatendency
for the vehicle tomove backwards whenstarting froma
standstill. Whenthisoccurs, youcan usetheparking
brake switch inthe same wayasaconventional lever
type parking brake.
Before starting onsloping roadswhentowing atrailer,
be sure toread thefollowing toprevent thevehicle
from moving backward unintentionally .
1. Pull and hold theparking brakeswitch while
depressing theaccelerator pedalandengaging
the clutch (MTmodels) .
2. Release theparking brakeswitch assoon asthe
engine isdelivering enoughtorquetothe wheels.
