Utility vehicles haveasignificantly higherroll-
over ratethan other types ofvehicles.
They havehigher ground clearance thanpassenger
cars tomake themcapable ofperforming inawide
variety ofon-pavement andoff-road applications. This
gives themahigher center ofgravity thanordinary cars.
An advantage ofhigher ground clearance isabetter
view ofthe road, allowing youtoanticipate problems.
However, theyarenot designed forcornering atthe
same speeds asconventional passengercarsany
more thanlow-slung sportscarsaredesigned to
perform satisfactorily underoff-road conditions. Ifat all
possible, avoidsharp turnsorabrupt maneuvers,
particularly athigh speeds. Aswith other vehicles of
this type, failure tooperate thisvehicle correctly may
result inloss ofcontrol orvehicle rollover.
