Theft warning systemoperation:

position, andwait approximately 10seconds.
4. Repeat steps2and 3again.
5. Start theengine.
6. Repeat thesteps above untilallpossible inter-
ferences areeliminated.
If this procedure allowstheengine tostart, NISSAN
recommends placingtheregistered NATS key sepa-
rate from other devices toavoid interference.

The electronic parkingbrakeisautomatically applied
when theengine isturned offwith theignition switch
(for MTmodel) .
The electronic parkingbrakeisautomatically released
as soon asthe vehicle startswhiletheaccelerator
pedal isdepressed.
For CVT model, thedriver's seatbeltneeds tobe
fastened.
WARNING:
. The electronic parkingbrakewillnotbe
automatically appliedifthe engine is
stopped withoutusingtheignition switch
(for example, byengine stalling) . .
Before leaving thevehicle, movetheshift
lever tothe ª1º(1st) orªRº (Reverse) position
(for MTmodel) orªPº (Park) position (CVT
model) andcheck thattheelectronic parking
brake warning light
is illuminated to
confirm thattheelectronic parkingbrakeis
applied. Theelectronic parkingbrakewarn-
ing light willremain onfor aperiod oftime
after thedriver's doorislocked.
CAUTION:
When parking inan area where theoutside
temperature isbelow 08C (32 8F),do not apply
the parking braketoprevent itfrom freezing.
For safe parking, placetheshift lever inthe ª1º
(1st) orªRº(Reverse) position(forMTmodel) or
ªPº (Park) position (CVTmodel) andsecurely
block thewheels.
NO TE:
. To keep theelectronic parkingbrakere-
leased aftertheengine isturned off,place
the ignition switchinthe ªOFFº position,
depress thebrake pedalandpush down the
parking brakeswitch before opening the
driver's door.
. Ifamalfunction occursinthe electric park-
ing brake system (forexample, dueto
battery discharge) ,contact aNISSAN dealer.
