When replacing atire, usethesame size,speed rating
and load carrying capacity asoriginally equipped. (See
ªTires andwheelsº (P.9-7) forrecommended typesand
sizes oftires andwheels.) Theuseoftires other than
those recommended orthe mixed useoftires of
different brands,construction (bias,bias-belted, or
radial) ,or tread patterns canadversely affecttheride,
braking, handling, groundclearance, body-to-tire
clearance, snowchainclearance, TirePressure Mon-
itoring System (TPMS),speedometer calibration,
headlight aimand bumper height.Someofthese
effects maylead toaccidents andcould resultin
serious personal injury.
If the wheels arechanged forany reason, always
replace withwheels whichhavethesame offset
dimension. Wheelsofadifferent offsetcouldcause
early tirewear, possibly degraded vehiclehandling
characteristics and/orinterference withthebrake
