or age. Wheel
alignment andbalance:

a straight andlevel road, orifyou detect uneven or
abnormal tirewear, theremaybeaneed forwheel

Windshield:

the chains ondry roads.
Never installtirechains onaTemporary-use sparetire
(TEMPORAR YUSE ONLY)(ifequipped) .
Do not drive withtirechains onpaved roadswhich are
clear ofsnow .Driving withchains insuch conditions
can cause damage tothe various mechanisms ofthe
vehicle duetosome overstress.

WARNING:
. After rotating thetires, adjust thetire
pressure.
. Retighten thewheel nutswhen thevehicle
has been driven for1,000 km(600 miles) (also
incases ofaflat tire, etc.).
. Donot include thespare tireintire rotation.
. Incorrect tireselection, fitting,care,or
maintenance canaffect vehicle safetywith
risk ofaccident andinjury. Ifin doubt,

excessive wear,cracks, bulging ordeep cutsare

When thewear indicator isvisible, thetireshould be
replaced. Improper
serviceofaspare tiremay result inserious

Do not install adeformed wheelortire even ifit
has been repaired. Suchwheels ortires could
have structural damageandcould failwithout
warning.
When replacing atire, usethesame size,speed rating
and load carrying capacity asoriginally equipped. (See
ªTires andwheelsº (P.9-7) forrecommended typesand
sizes oftires andwheels.) Theuseoftires other than
those recommended orthe mixed useoftires of
different brands,construction (bias,bias-belted, or
radial) ,or tread patterns canadversely affecttheride,
braking, handling, groundclearance, body-to-tire
clearance, snowchainclearance, TirePressure Mon-
itoring System (TPMS),speedometer calibration,
headlight aimand bumper height.Someofthese
effects maylead toaccidents andcould resultin
serious personal injury.
If the wheels arechanged forany reason, always
replace withwheels whichhavethesame offset
dimension. Wheelsofadifferent offsetcouldcause
early tirewear, possibly degraded vehiclehandling
characteristics and/orinterference withthebrake
