Low fuel level warning
light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
When this light fi rst comes on, you
have enough fuel to drive approxi-
mately 30 miles (50 km) (The tank
capacity is approximately 40 litres).
Water in diesel filter
indicator
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
If it comes on, with the engine run-
ning, this indicates that there is a risk
of damage to the injection system.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
Diesel engine pre-heat
warning light
Wait until the warning light goes out
before starting the engine.
If the temperature is high enough,
the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start the
engine without waiting. Passenger air bag

time the ignition is switched on.
If the passenger air bag is disarmed,
the warning light remains on.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer if
the warning light fl ashes.
Seat belt not fastened
warning light
When the ignition is switched
on, this warning light comes
on if the driver (and/or a passenger)
has not fastened his seat belt.
Above 12 mph (20 km/h), this warning
light fl ashes for two minutes accom-
panied by an audible signal which
becomes progressively louder. Once
the two minutes have elapsed, the
warning light remains on until the driver
(and/or passenger) fastens his seat
belt.

The driver must ensure that all
passengers fasten and use the
seat belts correctly. Door open warning
light
This comes on if a door, the bonnet
or the boot is still open.
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), this warning
light is accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multi-
function display.
"Foot on brake" warning
light ("2 Tronic" gearbox)

you must put your foot on the brake
(example: when starting the engine).
If you do not put your foot on the
brake, this warning light fl ashes. Front, steering column,
side and curtain air
bags warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.

of this warning light, accompanied
by an audible signal, indicates a fault
in the front, steering column, side or
curtain air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

MIRRORS
- from outside:
 lock the vehicle using the remote
control or the key.

Note : if the mirrors are folded using
switch A , they will not unfold when
the vehicle is unlocked using the
remote control or the key. Switch A
must be turned again. Manual interior mirror
The interior mirror has two positions:
- day (normal),
- night (anti-dazzle).
To change from one to the other,
push or pull the lever on the lower
edge of the mirror.
STEERING WHEEL HEIGHT AND DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
When the vehicle is stationary, unlock
the steering wheel by pulling handle
A .
Adjust the height and depth of the
steering wheel.
Lock it by pushing handle A down
fully.
Demisting
To demist the mirrors, with the engine
running, press the rear screen demi-
sting button.
Folding
When parked, the mirrors can be
folded back manually.
If your vehicle is fi tted with electric
folding:
- from inside:
 with the ignition on, turn switch A
downwards.
Objects observed in the mirrors
are, in reality, closer than they
appear.
Take this into account to as-
sess correctly the distance of vehicles
approaching from the rear.
Electric exterior mirrors
Adjustment

 Turn switch A to the right or to the
left to select the corresponding
mirror.

 Move this switch in all four direc-

HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction indica-
tors fl ash.

Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights

the hazard warning lights come on au-
tomatically. They switch off automati-
cally the fi rst time you accelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off
by pressing the button on the fascia.
TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION
Sensors fi tted in each valve check
the pressure of the tyres while driv-
ing and trigger a warning in the event
of malfunction (speed above 12 mph
(20 km/h)).
The tyre under-infl ation detection
system is an aid to driving which does
not replace the need for the driver to
be vigilant or to drive responsibly.
Flat tyre This warning light comes
on on the instrument panel,
accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the
multifunction display locating
the wheel concerned.

 Check the tyre pressures as

Disarming the passenger
air bag

To ensure the safety of your child,
it is essential to disarm the pas-
senger air bag when you install
a "rear-facing" child seat on the
front passenger seat. Otherwise,
the child would risk being seri-
ously injured or killed if the air bag
were to infl ate.

 With the ignition switched off,
insert the key into the passenger
air bag disarming switch 1 , turn
it to the "OFF" position, then
remove the key keeping the slot
in this position.
In the "OFF" position, the passenger
air bag will not be triggered in the
event of an impact.
As soon as the child seat is removed,
turn the air bag slot to the "ON"
position to re-activate the air bag and
thus ensure the safety of your pas-
senger in the event of an impact. With the ignition on (2nd notch),
illumination of this warning light
accompanied by a message
on the multi function display,
indicates that the passenger air bag is
disarmed (switch in the "OFF" position).
The warning light on the instrument
panel remains on until the passenger
air bag is reactivated.
In the event of permanent
lighting of the two air bag
warning lights, do not install
a rear-facing child seat.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Steering column air bag
The steering column air bag protects
the driver's knees in the event of a
serious front impact.
It is incorporated in the fascia below
the steering column. SIDE AIR BAGS AND
CURTAIN AIR BAGS
The side air bags are incorporated into the front seat backs on the door side.
The triggering of these air bags re-quires a serious side impact applied in the side impact zone B , perpen-dicular to the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle, on a horizontal plane and from the outside of the vehicle towards the inside. The side air bag infl ates between the front occupant of the vehicle and the door trim pad. It therefore limits the risk of injury to the chest.
The rear side air bags afford the rear passengers the same protection which the front side air bags offer the front passengers.
The curtain air bags are incorporated in the headlining.
The curtain air bag infl ates between the front or rear occupant and the windows. It therefore limits the risk of head injuries. In the event of a minor impact or bump on the side of the ve-hicle or if the vehicle rolls over, the air bag may not be triggered. The air bag is not triggered in the event of a front or rear collision.
Disarming check Activation
It is deployed at the same time as the
front air bags.
