ACCESS
ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore prevents
starting of the vehicle by anyone who
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
must be recognised for starting to be
possible.
In the event of a malfunction, your
vehicle will not start.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Changing the remote control
battery
To change the battery, remove the
screw then unclip the housing using
a coin inserted at the ring.
Battery CR2016/3 volts.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reprogramme it.
Reprogramming the remote
control
Following replacement of the remote
control battery or in the event of a
remote control malfunction, it may
be necessary to reprogramme the

may make access to the pas-
senger compartment by the
emergency services more
diffi cult in an emergency.
As a safety measure (with children
on board), remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
Do not make any modifi cations to the
electronic immobiliser system.
Do not discard the remote
control batteries, they contain
metals which are harmful to
the environment.
Take them to a PEUGEOT dealership,
or to any other approved collection
point. The high frequency remote control is
a sensitive system; do not operate it

FILLING THE FUEL TANK

 Open the fuel fi ller fl ap.

 Insert the key, turn it slightly to
the left then return to the right.
The key returns to its initial posi-
tion and the cap is unlocked.
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, the last
block fl ashes, accompanied
by an audible signal.

You have approximately
5 litres remaining.
In certain driving conditions and de-
pending on the engine, the distance
which can be travelled with the fuel
remaining may be less than 30 miles
(50 km).
When the frequency of the fl ashing
increases, you have approximately
3 litres remaining .
 Unscrew the cap and hook it onto
the clip located on the inside of
the fl ap.
A label affi xed on the inside of the
fl ap reminds you which type of fuel
to use.
When you fi ll the fuel tank, do not
continue after the 3rd cut-off of the
pump. This could cause malfunc-
tions.

 Remove the key.

Note: if you run out of fuel,
the emission control system
warning light may come on
on the instrument panel. It will
switch off automatically after the en-
gine has been started a few times.
The fuel tank must be fi lled

with the engine switched
off .
The capacity of the fuel tank is ap-
proximately 35 litres.

 After fi lling the fuel tank, screw
the cap back on fully to the right
until it clicks and close the fl ap.

R everse "R". This gear will be enga-
ged when stationary or at a speed be-

CHECKS
CHECKING THE LEVELS
There are two marks
on the dipstick:

A = maximum
If you fi ll past this
mark, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

B = minimum

Never allow the level
to fall below this mark.
Dipstick
Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet. Changing the brake fluid
The brake fl uid must be changed at
the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer’s servicing schedule.
Use fl uids recommended by the
manufacturer, which fulfi l DOT4
standards.
Windscreen wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you
use products recommended by your
manufacturer.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Viscosity selection
In all cases, the oil selected must meet
the manufacturer’s requirements. Cooling system
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.
Brake fl uid is harmful to health and
very corrosive.
To maintain the reliability of
engines and emission control
systems, the use of additives
in engine oil is prohibited. Slacken the cap by 1/4 of a
turn to release the pressure
to prevent any risk of
scalding. When the pressure
has dropped, remove the cap and
top up the level. Only use the fl uid recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously
damaging your engine.
Do not dispose of used oil,
brake fl uid or coolant into
drains or into the ground.
Empty the used oil into the
containers provided for this
purpose in the PEUGEOT
network.
Oil level
Check the level regularly and top up
between changes. The maximum
consumption is 0.5 l per 600 miles
(1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
engine cold, using the dipstick.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can op-
erate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
