BOOT
2. Spare wheel / Additional storage compartments
Located under the carpet and a
plastic cover, this contains the tools
for wheel changing and towing.
There are two shelf storage options:
- either behind the rear seats,
- or flat in the boot.
1. Rear shelf
To remove the shelf:
- unhook the shelf from its fixing
A,
- pull upwards on each side to detach it from its fixings,
- raise then tilt the shelf slightly to remove it. In order to obtain additio-
nal space, the spare wheel
can be removed temporarily
(boot tray available as an ac-
cessory).

FILLING THE FUEL TANK
 Open the fuel filler flap.
 Insert the key, turn it slightly to the
left then return to the right.
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, the last
block flashes, accompanied
by an audible signal*.
You have approximately 5 litres
remaining.
In certain driving conditions and
depending on the engine, the
distance which can be travelled with
the fuel remaining may be less than
30 miles (50 km).
When the frequency of the flashing
increases, you have approximately
3 litres remaining . 
Unscrew the cap and hook it onto
the clip located on the inside of
the flap.
A label affixed on the inside of the
flap reminds you which type of fuel
to use.
When you fill the fuel tank, do
not continue after the 3rd cut-off
of the pump. This could cause
malfunctions.
The capacity of the fuel tank is
approximately 35 litres.
 After filling the fuel tank, screw the
cap back on fully to the right until it
clicks and close the flap.
 Remove the key.
Note:
if you run out of fuel,
the emission control system
warning light may come on
on the instrument panel.
It will switch off automatically after
the engine has been started a few
times.
The fuel tank must be filled
with the engine switched
off .

LIGHTS STALK
Front and rear lights
Selection is by rotation of ring A.
1 - Lights off
2 - Side lights
3 - Dipped
headlamps / Main
beam headlampsDipped headlamps/main beam

Dipped headlamps: pull the stalk.
Main beam headlamps: push the
stalk.
Lights on buzzer
When the driver’s door is opened with
the ignition off, a continuous audible
signal is heard if you have left your
lights on.
Rear fog lamp
With the dipped head-
lamps on, selection
is by rotation of ring
B forwards to switch
on and rearwards to
switch off. The status is displayed by
the indicator light on the instrument
panel.
Note: Switching to side lights does
not switch off the rear fog lamps if
they are on.
In clear weather or in rain,
both day and night, the rear
fog lamps are dazzling and
are prohibited.
Do not forget to switch them off when
they are no longer needed.
Direction indicators (flashers)
Left: stalk downwards.
Right: stalk upwards.Headlamp flash
Pull the stalk fully towards you.

WINDSCREEN WIPER STALK
Windscreen wipers
MIST Single wipe.
For a single wipe of the windscreen, push the control
upwards then release it.
OFF Off.
INT Intermittent wipe.
LO Normal wipe (moderate rain).
HI Fast wipe (heavy rain).
When using a car wash,
switch off the ignition and
ensure that the wiper blades
are in the low position.
In winter, you are advised to wait until
the windscreen has been de-iced
fully before operating the windscreen
wipers stalk.
Windscreen wash-wipe
Pull the wipers stalk towards you.
Rear wiper and wash-wipe
Turn ring A to "ON" for a steady
wipe.
Turn it forwards to trigger
the wash-wipe during
wiping.
Rear wash-wipe
Ring A at "OFF" (wiper off).
Turn it towards you to
trigger a wash-wipe jet.

HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT
Depending on the load in your vehicle,
adjusting the beam of the headlamps
is recommended as follows.
0. 1 or 2 people in the front seats.
-. 3 people.
1. 4 people.
2. 4 people + maximum authorised
load.
3. Driver + maximum authorised
load.
Initial setting is position 0. In this position, it comes
on on opening the driver’s
door.
The courtesy light is de-
activated and is permanently
off.
COURTESY LIGHT
Permanently on.

HORN
Press one of the spokes of the steer-
ing wheel.
HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction
indicators flash.
They can operate with the ignition
off.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKING
SYSTEM (ABS) AND EBFD/
CSC BRAKING SYSTEM
The ABS, in conjunction with the
EBFD/CSC braking system, in-
creases the stability and manoevra-
bility of your vehicle on braking and
provides improved control, in parti-
cular on poor or slippery road surfa-
ces.
The ABS prevents wheel lock in the
event of emergency braking.
The EBFD/CSC system provides full
control of the braking pressure wheel
by wheel. A distribution between:
- the front and the rear in the case of
the EBFD (Electronic Brake Force
Distribution),
- the left and the right in the case of the CSC (Cornering Stability
Control).
When the vehicle is being
driven, illumination of this
warning light indicates that
the handbrake is still on
or has not been properly
released.
When parking on a slope,
direct your wheels towards
the pavement and pull the
handbrake.
HANDBRAKE
Applying
Pull the handbrake to immobilise
your vehicle.
Releasing
Pull on the handle and press the
button to release the handbrake.
Note: when changing wheels
(tyres), make sure that these
are approved.
The anti-lock braking system
comes into operation automatically
when there is a risk of wheel lock.

trol of the vehicle when braking.

Fastening the seat belts
Pull the strap, then insert the buckle
into the stalk.
Pretensioning front seat
belts with force limiter
Safety in the event of front
impacts has been improved
by means of the introduction of
pretensioning seat belts with force
limiter for the front seats. Depending
on the force of the impact, the
pretensioning system instantly
tightens the seat belts and pulls them
against the body of the occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are
active when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the
pressure of the seat belt on the body
of the occupant in the event of an
accident.
Normal operation of the
ABS may make itself felt by
slight vibrations of the brake
pedal.
In emergency braking,
press very firmly without
releasing the pressure. 3-door
5-door
Rear seat belts
The rear seats are equipped with two
three-point inertia reel seat belts.
You can store the seat belt buckles in
the housing A.

When this warning light
comes on, it indicates that
there is a malfunction of the
ABS, which can cause a

on the force of the impact, the
pretensioning system instantly
tightens the seat belts and pulls them
against the body of the occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are
active when the ignition is on.

pressure of the seat belt on the body
of the occupant in the event of an
accident.

Rear seat belts
The rear seats are equipped with two

You can store the seat belt buckles in

Wherever you are seated in
the vehicle, always fasten
your seat belt, even for short
journeys.
Do not invert the seat belt buckles as
they will not fulfil their role fully.
If the seats have armrests*, the lap
part of the seat belt must always
pass under the armrest.
Before and after use, ensure that the
seat belt is rolled up correctly.
In order to be effective, a seat belt:
- must be tightened as close to the body as possible,
- must restrain one adult only,
- must not bear any trace of cuts or fraying,
- must not be twisted,
- must not be transformed or modified. Clean the seat belt straps with soapy
water or a textile cleaning product,
sold by PEUGEOT dealers.
After folding or moving a seat or rear
bench seat, ensure that the seat belt
is positioned and rolled up correctly.
Recommendations for child seats:
- use a suitable child seat if the
passenger is less than 12 years old
or shorter than one metre fifty,
- do not use the strap-guide* when a child seat is installed.
Depending on the nature and
seriousness of the impacts ,
the pre-tensioning device may be
triggered before and independently
of the air bags.
In all cases, the air bag warning light
comes on.
Following an impact, have the
seat belts system checked, and if
necessary replaced, by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
* According to model.
