- an alternator failure.

Emission control
system warning light

I f i t c o m e s o n w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n -

o f t h e i n j e c t i o n , i g n i t i o n o r e m i s s i o n
control system.
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s , t h e r e
is a risk of damage to the catalytic
converter on petrol engines.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Diesel engine pre-heat
warning light

goes out before starting the engine.
I f t h e t e m p e r a t u r e i s h i g h e n o u g h ,
t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n f o r l e s s
than one second. You can start the

Low fuel level
warning light
W h e n t h i s l i g h t i r s t c o -
m e s o n , y o u h a v e e n o u g h f u e l t o d r i v e
at least 30 miles (50 km). The tank ca-
pacity is approximately 50 litres.
Speed limiter/cruise

tional servo-assisted braking.

the rear screen and exterior
mirrors.
I t s w i t c h e s o f f a u t o m a t i c a l l y , a f t e r a p -
p r o x i m a t e l y t w e l v e m i n u t e s , t o p r e -
vent an excessive consumption of
current. Pressing the button again re-
s t a r t s o p e r a t i o n f o r t w e l v e m i n u t e s .
It is possible to stop the operation of
t h e d e - i c i n g b e f o r e i t i s s w i t c h e d o f f
automatically by pressing the button
again.
S w i t c h o f f t h e d e - i c i n g a s s o o n a s
y o u c o n s i d e r t h i s n e c e s s a r y a s l o w
current consumption reduces fuel
consumption. Manual demisting

- s w i t c h o n t h e a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g ,
- place the temperature and air
l o w c o n t r o l s i n t h e m a x i m u m
p o s i t i o n ,

- place the exterior air intake c o n t r o l o n t h e l e f t , i n t h e
"Exterior Air" position. Automatic demisting,

OPENING THE BONNET
Inside the vehicle: pull the handle on
t h e l e f t - h a n d s i d e , u n d e r t h e f a s c i a .
Outside the vehicle: lift the catch
and raise the bonnet.
BONNET STRUTSecure the strut to hold the bonnet
open.
B e f o r e c l o s i n g t h e b o n n e t , r e p l a c e
the strut in its housing.
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
T h e t a n k m u s t b e i l l e d w i t h f u e l w i t h
the engine switched off .
Insert the key then turn it to the left.
Remove the cap.
A l a b e l i n d i c a t e s w h i c h t y p e o f f u e l t o
use.
I f y o u i l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t c o n t i n u e
after the third cut-off of the pump
nozzle. This could result in vehicle
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is approxi-
mately 50 litres.
To close
L o w e r t h e b o n n e t a n d r e l e a s e i t a t
the end of its travel.
Check that the bonnet is locked.

This indicates the distance travelled

This is the average fuel consumption
s i n c e t h e c o m p u t e r w a s l a s t s e t t o
zero. Current consumption
This is the average quantity of fuel con-
s u m e d d u r i n g t h e l a s t f e w s e c o n d s .
T h i s f u n c t i o n i s d i s p l a y e d o n l y w h e n
the vehicle is travelling at a speed
greater than 20 mph (30 km/h).
Average speed
This is the average speed calculated
s i n c e t h e c o m p u t e r w a s l a s t s e t t o
z e r o ( w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n o n ) .

I f y o u s h o u l d r u n o u t o f f u e l , i t i s n e c e s -
sary to re-prime the circuit:
- i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t i v e l i t r e s o f d i e s e l ,
- squeeze and release the manual r e - p r i m i n g p u m p , u n t i l f u e l
appears in the transparent pipe
u n d e r t h e b o n n e t ,
- operate the starter until the engine starts.
Brake pads
