THE KEYS
The keys allow you to
independently
operate the locks on the doors, the
tailgate (opening), the fuel iller cap,
the steering lock
, the glove box and the passenger air bag disarming
control and to switch on the ignition. The remote control
This fulils the same functions as the
key, at a distance.
Locating your car
To locate your car in a car park, if you
have locked it:
F
press button A, the courtesy
light comes on and the direction
indicators lash for a few
seconds.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the
driver's door, if the key has been left
in the ignition. Changing the battery of the
remote control
Warning that the battery is lat is given
by an audible signal accompanied
by the message
"Remote control
battery low" on the multifunction
display. To replace the battery,
remove the screw then unclip the
casing using a coin at the ring (CR
2016/3 volt battery).
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reprogramme the remote control.
Programming the remote control
F Switch off the ignition.
F Switch the ignition on again.
F Press button A immediately for a
few seconds.
F Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote control
is now working again.
Locking and unlocking
From the driver's door the keys allow
you:
- to lock the doors and tailgate
simultaneously,
- to unlock simultaneously just the doors.
If one of the doors is open, the
central locking does not work.
Unlocking the boot is possible
only by using the key in the boot
lock. Locking
Pressing button
A locks the vehicle
by remote control.
This is displayed by the continuous
lighting of the direction indicators for
approximately two seconds.
Unlocking
Pressing button B unlocks just the
doors.
This is shown by the rapid lashing of
the direction indicators.
Note: Avoid pressing the buttons of
your remote control out of range of
your vehicle. You risk causing it not
to work and the remote control would
have to be reprogrammed (see
corresponding section).

ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore prevents
starting of the vehicle by anyone
who does not have the key.The
ignition key has an electronic chip
which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
must be recognised for starting to be
possible.
CONFIDENTIAL CARD
This is given to you on delivery of
your vehicle with the duplicate keys.
It contains the identiication code
necessary for any work carried out by
a PEUGEOT dealer on the electronic
immobiliser system. This code is
hidden by a ilm, which should be
removed only if necessary.
Keep your card in a safe place,
never inside the vehicle.

When undertaking a long trip or
journey, however, it is advisable
to take it with you along with your
personal papers. Make a careful note of the
number of each key. This
number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, your PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote control
is a sensitive system; do not
operate it while it is in your pocket
as there is a possibility that it may
unlock the vehicle, without you
being aware of it.
The remote control does not
operate when the key is in the
ignition, even when the ignition
is switched off, except for
reprogramming.
Driving with the doors locked may
make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
services more dificult in an
emergency. As a safety precaution (with
children on board), remove the
key from the ignition when you
leave the vehicle, even for a short
time.
Do not repeatedly press the
buttons of your remote control out
of range of your vehicle.
You run the risk of stopping it from
working and the remote control
would have to be reprogrammed.
When purchasing a second-hand
vehicle:
- ensure that you are given the
conidential card;
- have the key codes memorised by a PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure
that the keys in your possession
are the only ones which can start
the vehicle.
Do not make any modiications to
the electronic engine immobiliser
system.
If the system does not function
correctly,
the central locking button
indicator light, situated in the centre
of the fascia, lashes rapidly when the
ignition is switched on (2
nd notch).
In this case your vehicle will not
start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.

DOORSLocking from the inside
To lock, press button
A.
Locking one of the front doors locks
the doors and the boot.
Opening the doors from outside
Opening the doors from inside Before carrying out any
work which requires
cutting off of the battery,
leave the doors and
windows closed.
If the battery is cut off, the doors
can still be opened. However, it
is imperative that the door is not
slammed when it is closed.
Contact your PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
In order make it easier to open
the doors, the window lowers
automatically by a few centimetres.
It rises and adjusts automatically
when the door is closed to provide
perfect sealing.
Unlocking from the inside
To unlock, pull button A or the
handle.
''Door open'' alert
With the engine running , an
audible signal and a message or
diagram locating the problem on the
multifunction screen, warns you that
a door is not properly closed.
When the vehicle is moving ,
with the courtesy light button in the
"lighting on opening a door" position,
the courtesy light lashes.

OPENING THE BONNET
Inside the vehicle
: pull the handle
on the left-hand side, under the
fascia.
Outside the vehicle : lift the catch
and raise the bonnet.
BONNET STRUT
Secure the strut to hold the bonnet
open.
Before closing the bonnet, replace
the strut in its housing.
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
The tank must be illed with fuel with
the engine switched off .
Insert the key then turn it to the left.
Remove the cap.
A label indicates which type of fuel
to use.
If you ill your tank, do not continue
after the third cut-off of the pump
nozzle. This could result in vehicle
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is
approximately 10.3 gallons
(47 litres).
To close
Lower the bonnet and release it at
the end of its travel. Check that the
bonnet is locked.

THE ELECTRIC
RETRACTABLE ROOF
Opening the roof
Never switch the ignition off
during operation of the roof.
F
Park the vehicle on horizontal
ground.
F Ensure that the screen 1 is
hooked on (no object must be
placed on the screen; if there is
luggage in the boot, this must not
push the screen upwards).
F Check that no object has been
placed on the rear parcel shelf.
F Close the boot correctly.
F With the vehicle stationary
and the handbrake applied, turn
the ignition switch to the running
position (2nd notch). F
Release the two hooks 2
completely ; this operation is
conirmed by an audible signal.
F Pull switch 3 until you hear a
signal which conirms that the roof
opening operation is complete.
When carrying out this manoeuvre,
the front windows and then the rear
quarter panel windows lower, the
boot lid opens, the roof folds up and
stores itself in the boot. Then the
boot lid closes and the moving shelf
positions itself.
Note: The control buttons for the
windows become operational again
at the end of the roof operation. Operating malfunction:
If the cycle does not begin, check
that the screen is pulled correctly and
that the boot is closed correctly.
If movement of the roof stops, a
continuous audible signal sounds:
F
Release switch 3, then press it
again to inish opening the roof.
If the malfunction persists, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
system checked.
After rain or washing the vehicle,
it is advisable to wait for the roof
to dry before opening it.

Closing the roof
Never switch the ignition off
during operation of the roof.
F Ensure that the screen 1 is
hooked on (no object must be
placed on the screen; if there is
luggage in the boot, this must not
push the screen upwards).
F Close the boot correctly.
F With the vehicle stationary and
the handbrake applied, turn the
ignition key to the running position
(2nd notch).
F Press switch 3 until you hear a
signal which conirms that the roof
closing operation is complete.
When carrying out this operation,
the front windows and then the rear
quarter panel windows open, the
moving parcel shelf folds up, the
boot lid opens, the roof unfolds and
positions itself, then the boot lid
closes again.
F Only then, lock the two hooks 2.
Note: The control buttons for the
windows become operational again
at the end of the roof operation. Operating malfunction:
If the cycle does not begin, check
that the screen is pulled correctly and
that the boot is closed correctly.
If movement of the roof stops, a
continuous audible signal sounds:
F
Release switch
3, then press it
again to inish closing the roof.
If the problem persists, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
system checked.
When the vehicle is moving, if a
continuous audible signal can be
heard, this means that the roof or the
boot lid, or both, are not locked:
F Stop the vehicle and apply the
handbrake,
F Open the roof and close it again
completely, in accordance with
the procedure.
If the problem persists, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
system checked. In the case of an electric or
hydraulic malfunction of the roof,
it is possible to close the roof
manually.
When the side windows no longer
open completely, it is impossible
to operate the roof; however it
is possible to close it by using a
special procedure.
Please consult the breakdown
procedure described at the end
of this handbook.
The roof must not be
operated when a loaded
luggage carrier is itted to
the boot lid.
During roof opening and
closing operations, to avoid any
risk of injury, ensure that there
is no-one in the proximity of the
moving parts.
Never release button 3 for more
than ive minutes when the roof
is in an intermediate position
(neither completely open or
closed). However, in the event
of danger, release the control
knob and the operation will stop
instantly. You can resume the
cycle before the audible signal
ceases.

Note:
when the lights are switched
off automatically or when the dipped
headlamps are switched off manually,
the front fog lamps, the rear fog lamp
and the side lights remain on (turn
the ring backwards to switch off the
front fog lamps. The side lights then
switch off).
Dipped/Main beam change
Pull the stalk towards you.
Note:
with the ignition off and the
automatic lighting function switched
off, if the driver's door is open, a
buzzer sounds if you have left your
lights on.

The front fog lamps operate with the
side lights and dipped headlamps.
When the main beam headlamps are
switched on, the front fog lamps are
switched off. They are switched on
again when the main beam head-
lamps are switched off. Front fog lamps
and rear fog lamp
(2nd forwards turn of
the ring)
Note: to switch off the rear fog lamp
and the front fog lamps, turn the ring
twice backwards. In good or rainy weather,
both day and night, the
front fog lamps and the
rear fog lamp are dazzling
and are prohibited.
Do not forget to switch them off
when they are no longer needed.
"Follow me home" lighting
When you leave your vehicle, the
side lights and dipped headlamps
can be left on for approximately
30 seconds.
To do this:
- place the key in the
STOP posi-
tion,
- place the lights stalk in the 0 posi-
tion,
- lash the headlamps,
- get out of the vehicle and lock it.
