ROOF EMERGENCY MODE
Operating procedure for manual closing
of the roof in the event of an electrical or
hydraulic malfunction of the system. Following these checks and a fur-
ther roof manoeuvre command,
if the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer to have the sys-
tem checked. The tool, provided in the glove box, is a
size 6 Allen TM key.
If the opening or closing of the roof does
not start or does not function correctly,
check that all of the conditions below
are met:

 the vehicle is stationary,

 the ignition is on,

 the screen is pulled,

 the boot is closed,

 the roof fuse is in good condition,

 the battery voltage is sufi cient,

 the vehicle is not in energy economy
mode,

 the electric windows are initialised,

 the exterior temperature is higher
than -15 °C.
Otherwise, refer to the corresponding
section to rectify the problem.
During the roof closing manoeuvre,
take care:
- not to trap your hands in the mechanisms,
- that there is no one in the vicin- ity of the moving parts, to avoid
any risk of injury.

This operation is a breakdown solu-
tion. It is intended to permit manual
closing of the roof so that you can
drive to a PEUGEOT dealership.
Two people are required to carry out
this procedure. Access to the tool
Preparation for the emergency
procedure

 Park the vehicle on level ground, if
possible.

 Lower all of the windows.

 Switch off the ignition.

 Apply the handbrake.

 Remove the remote control key from
the starter.

 Open the boot lid.

 Roll up the screen.

 Remove the boot l oor.

 Place the size 6 Allen key in the hy-
draulic unit housing, located in the
centre of the spare wheel.

 Unscrew the bleed screw fully to re-
lease the hydraulic pressure in the
roof mechanism.

 Pass your arm between the roof and
the rear screen folded in the boot.

 Reach behind the shelf unlocking
mechanism cover.

 Press and pull on the unlocking
mechanism.

 Tilt the shelf into the boot.

 Press on each boot cover locking
striker (x 2).

 Disengage each hook (x 2) from its
pin.

 With one person on each side of the
boot, raise the front part of the boot
cover.
The boot cover must be opened
progressively and without force.

 Secure the boot in the open position
by inserting the size 6 Allen key in
the opening, provided for this pur-
pose, on the right-hand side of the
roof mechanism.
The boot cover is secured in the open position.

 Take the roof out of the boot slowly
and progressively.

 Gently place the roof on the wind-
screen upper crossmember. This operation must be carried out
by two people.

 Raise the boot cover.

 If the hooks have locked in the
meantime, disengage each hook
(x 2) by acting on its locking striker.

 Close the boot cover hooks.
The fork of the hook should be posi- tioned around the pin.
The boot cover must be closed pro-
gressively and without force.
When you reach the stop, do not
use more force than is necessary.
Over time, this could result in oil
leaks.

 Place the size 6 Allen key back in
the hydraulic unit housing.

 Screw in the bleed screw fully.

 Press on each side of the boot to
close it.

 Pull and turn each U bracket (x 2)
one eighth of a turn to move it from
position 1 to position 2 . Do not close the boot cover before
restoring the hydraulic pressure in
the roof mechanism.

BOOT LUGGAGE CARRIER REAR HEAD RESTS *
Following manual closing of the
roof, the roof and boot lid hinges
are no longer locked. Your vehicle
is no longer sealed.
Following manual closing of the
roof, drive at moderate speed, par-
ticularly on uneven roads. A boot luggage carrier, designed specif-
ically for your coupé-cabriolet, is avail-
able from your PEUGEOT dealer as an
accessory.
Follow the manufacturer’s recommen-
dations for i tting and use.
Observe the manufacturer's recommen-
dations regarding the i tting and use of
the head rests.
When loading the boot luggage car-
rier, take care not to cover the third
brake light and the number plate.
It is imperative that the roof is not
operated when the boot luggage
carrier is loaded.
End of the emergency
procedure

 Store the tools in the glove box.

 Press the remote control locking
button to lock the boot.

 Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
