For safety reasons, it is imperative
that coni guration of the multifunc-
tion displays by the driver takes
place when stationary.
The RT4 GPS audio/telephone must
reinitialise and re-start in order to
change the voice used by the voice
synthesiser (male or female) or the
language used by the system.
Once the "Display coni guration" menu
has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the palette of colours
available for the display,
- setting of the brightness and bril- liance of the display,
- setting of the date and time (12 or 24 hour mode, adjustment of the
minutes on GPS),
- selection of the units (temperature in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit; consump-
tion in l/100 km or mpg or km/l).
Display coni guration
"Video" menu
You can connect video equipment
(camcorder, digital camera, DVD play-
er, ...) to the three audio/video sockets,
located in the glove box.

Videos can only be displayed when
stationary.
Once this menu has been selected, you
can select:
- "Activate video mode" to activate/ deactivate the video,
- "Video parameters" to set the dis- play format, the brightness, the
contrast and the colours.

 Press the "MODE" or "DARK" but-
ton to disconnect the displaying of
the video.

 Press the "SOURCE" button sev-
eral times in succession to select an
audio source other than that of the
video.
Sounds
Once the "Sounds" menu has been se-
lected, you gain access to the following
parameters:
- setting of the voice commands,
- setting of the voice synthesiser (vol-
ume, male or female),
- activation of the auxiliary input AUX. Language selection
Once the "Language selection" menu
has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the display language
(Français, English, Italiano,
Portugues, Espanol, Deutsch,
Nederlands),
- selection of the information and voice commands language (Français,
English, Italiano, Portugues,
Espanol, Deutsch, Nederlands).

Glove box with light
This has an upper open storage com-
partment, a recess and locations for
storing a bottle of water, the vehicle’s
handbook, ...
Its lid has locations for storing a pen, a pair
of spectacles, tokens, cards, a can, ...
It is i tted with a lock.

 To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is lit when the lid is opened. Ashtray with light/Lighter

 Raise the lid to gain access to the
ashtray and the lighter.

 To empty the ashtray, after opening,
remove its receptacle.

 To use the lighter, press it and wait
a few seconds until it pops out auto-
matically.

 To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), remove the lighter
and connect the appropriate adaptor.
It houses the front passenger air bag
disarming switch

If the vehicle is i tted with air condi-
tioning, it provides access to the ven-
tilation nozzle B , which can be opened
or closed, distributing the same condi-
tioned air as the vents in the passenger
compartment.

AIR BAGS
The air bags have been designed to
maximise the safety of the occupants in
the event of violent collisions. They sup-
plement the action of the force-limiting
seat belts.
In this case, the electronic detectors
record and analyse the front and side
impacts suffered in the impact detection
zones:
-
in the event of a serious impact, the
air bags are deployed instantaneous-
ly
and protect the occupants of the vehicle; immediately after the impact,
the air bags del ate rapidly so that
they do not hinder the visibility of the
occupants or their possible exit from
the vehicle,
- in the event of a minor impact or rear impact and in certain roll-over
conditions, the air bags will not be
deployed; the seat belt alone is suf-
i cient to provide maximum protec-
tion in these situations.

The air bags do not operate when
the ignition is off.
This equipment only operates
once. If a second impact occurs
(during the same or a subsequent
accident), the air bag will not operate.
Impact detection zones

A. Front impact zone.

B. Side impact zone. Front air bags
System which protects the head and
chest of the driver and front passenger
in the event of a front impact.
The driver’s air bag is incorporated in
the centre of the steering wheel; the
front passenger’s air bag is incorporat-
ed in the fascia above the glove box.
Activation
The air bags are triggered simultane-
ously, unless the passenger’s front air
bag is disarmed, in the event of a seri-
ous front impact applied to all or part of
the front impact zone
A , in the longitu-
dinal centreline of the vehicle on a hori-
zontal plane and directed from the front
to the rear of the vehicle.
The front air bag inl ates between the
front occupant of the vehicle and the fas-
cia to cushion his forward movement.
The deployment of one or more air
bags is accompanied by a slight
discharge of harmless smoke and
a noise, due to the activation of the
pyrotechnic cartridge incorporated
in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but sen-
sitive individuals may experience
some irritation.
The noise of the detonation may
result in a slight loss of hearing for
a short time.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
The tools are installed in a box at the
bottom of the boot under the spare
wheel.
To gain access to them, refer to the
paragraph "Access to the spare wheel"
on the following page.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel
i xing bolts.

2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.

3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels.

4. Socket for the anti-theft bolts
(located in the glove box).
Permits adaptation of the wheelbrace to the special
"anti-theft" bolts.

When removing the wheel , detach
the trim i rst using the wheelbrace 1
pulling at the valve passage hole

When rei tting the wheel , rei t the
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.

BOOT LUGGAGE CARRIER REAR HEAD RESTS *
Following manual closing of the
roof, the roof and boot lid hinges
are no longer locked. Your vehicle
is no longer sealed.
Following manual closing of the
roof, drive at moderate speed, par-
ticularly on uneven roads. A boot luggage carrier, designed specif-
ically for your coupé-cabriolet, is avail-
able from your PEUGEOT dealer as an
accessory.
Follow the manufacturer’s recommen-
dations for i tting and use.
Observe the manufacturer's recommen-
dations regarding the i tting and use of
the head rests.
When loading the boot luggage car-
rier, take care not to cover the third
brake light and the number plate.
It is imperative that the roof is not
operated when the boot luggage
carrier is loaded.
End of the emergency
procedure

 Store the tools in the glove box.

 Press the remote control locking
button to lock the boot.

 Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
