Diesel additive level (Diesel with
particle emission filter)
The minimum level of this additive is indicated by lighting of the service warning light, accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction display.
Used products
CHECKS
Unless otherwise indicated, check these components in accordance with the servicing booklet and in relation to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery
The battery does not require any maintenance. However, check that the terminals are clean and correctly tightened, particularly in summer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery, refer to the "Practical information" section for details of the precautions to be taken before disconnecting the battery and following its reconnection.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the replacement intervals for these components.
Depending on the environment (dusty atmosphere...) and the use of the vehicle (city driving...), replace them twice as often if necessary (refer to the "Engines" paragraph).
A clogged passenger compartment filter may have an adverse effect on the performance of the air conditioning system and generate undesirable odours.
Particle emission filter (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance of the particle emission filter is carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Oil filter
Replace the oil filter each time the engine oil is changed.
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the replacement interval for this component.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer without delay.

Automatic gearbox
The gearbox does not require any maintenance (no oil change).
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the level checking intervals for this component.
Brake disc wear status
For any information relating to checking of the brake disc wear status, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Manual gearbox
The gearbox does not re-quire any maintenance (no oil change).
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the level checking intervals for this component.
Brake pads
Brake wear depends on the style of driving, particularly in the case of vehicles used in town, over short distances. It may be necessary to have the condition of the brakes checked, even between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak on the circuit, a drop in the brake fluid level indicates that the brake pads are worn.
Handbrake
If the handbrake travel is too long or if you notice a loss of effectiveness of this system, the handbrake must be adjusted, even between two services.
This system must be checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel for the spare wheel using the tools pro-vided with the vehicle.
The tools are installed in a box at the bottom of the boot under the spare wheel.
To gain access to them, refer to the paragraph "Access to the spare wheel" on the following page.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel fixing bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy wheels.
4. Socket for the anti-theft bolts.
Permits adaptation of the wheelbrace to the special "anti-theft" bolts.

Access to the spare wheel
The "space-saving" spare wheel is in-stalled in the boot under the floor.
To gain access to it:
 place the vehicle in the "coupé" configuration,
 open the boot,
 raise the floor.
Taking out the wheel
 Slacken and remove the retaining strap.
 Raise the spare wheel towards you from the rear.
 Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
 Put the spare wheel back in its housing.
 Put the retaining strap back in place and tighten it.
 Put the boot floor back in place.

Removing the wheelList of operations
 Remove the chromed bolt cover from each of the bolts using the tool 3.
 Fit the anti-theft socket 4 on the wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft bolt.
 Unlock the other bolts using the wheelbrace 1 only.
 Place the jack 2 in contact with one of the two front A or rear B locations provided on the underframe, which-ever is closest to the wheel to be changed.
 Extend the jack 2 until its base plate is in contact with the ground. Ensure that the centreline of the jack base plate is directly below the location Aor B used.
 Raise the vehicle until there is sufficient space between the wheel and the ground to admit the spare (not punctured) wheel easily.
 Remove the bolts and store them in a clean place.
 Remove the wheel.

Fitting the wheelList of operations
 Put the wheel in place on the hub.
 Screw in the bolts by hand to the stop.
 Pre-tighten the anti-theft bolt using the wheelbrace 1 fitted with the anti-theft socket 4.
 Pre-tighten the other bolts using the wheelbrace 1 only.
 Lower the vehicle fully.
 Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
 Lock the anti-theft bolt using the wheelbrace 1 fitted with the anti-theft socket 4.
 Lock the other bolts using the wheelbrace 1 only.
 Refit the chromed bolt covers on each of the bolts.
 Store the tools in the box at the bottom of the boot.
 Store the punctured wheel in a corner of the boot.

CHANGING A BULB
Procedure for the replacement of a faulty bulb with a new bulb without the use of tools.
1. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber).
2. Side lights (W 5 W).
3. Dipped headlamps (H7-55 W).
4. Main beam headlamps (H1-55 W).
5. Directional headlamps (H7-55 W).
6. Fog lamps (H11-55 W).
Changing the direction indicators
Model with dipped headlamps with elliptical module and directional headlamps
 Turn the bulb holder one quarter of a turn and remove it.
 Pull the bulb then change it.
To refit, carry out these operations in re-verse order.
Front lights
Model with conventional lights
Blown bulb
A message appears on the multifunc-tion display to indicate the bulb to be changed.
Refer to the appropriate procedure to change the corresponding bulb.

Changing the side lights
 Disconnect the main headlamp connector.
 Remove the plastic protective cover by pulling on the tab.
 Turn the bulb holder one quarter of a turn and remove it.
 Pull the bulb and change it.
To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing the dipped headlamps, main beam headlamps or directional headlamps
 Disconnect the main headlamp connector.
 Remove the corresponding plastic protective cover by pulling on the tab.
Changing the integrated direction indicator side repeaters
 Insert a screwdriver towards the centre of the repeater between the repeater and the base of the mirror.
 Tilt the screwdriver to extract the repeater and remove the repeater.
 Disconnect the repeater connector.
To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
To obtain a replacement repeater, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
 Disconnect the connector of the corresponding light.
 Move aside the spring to release the bulb and remove the bulb.
To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing the fog lamps
For replacement of these bulbs, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Rear lights
1. Brake lights (P 21 W).
2. Side lights (R 5 W).
3. Fog lamps (P 21 W).
4. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber).
5. Reversing lights (P 21 W).
Changing bulbs
These five bulbs are changed from outside the boot:
 first open the flap to gain access to the fixing bolt,
 remove the light fixing bolt,
 take out the light from the outside,
 disconnect the light connector,
 remove the light seal,
 press the four tabs and remove the bulb holder,
 turn the bulb one quarter of a turn and change it.
To refit, carry out these operations in reverse order.

Changing the third brake light (diodes)
For the replacement of this type of diodes light, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Changing the number plate light bulbs (W 5 W)
 Insert a thin screwdriver in one of the exterior holes of the lens.
 Push it towards the outside to unclip it.
 Remove the lens.
 Pull the bulb and change it.
