Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h
a l l o y w h e e l s , i t i s n o r m a l t o n o t i c e ,
w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g ,
that the washers do not come into
contact with the steel or "space-sav-
ing" type spare wheel. The wheel
is secured by the conical contact of
each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
A c c o r d i n g t o c o u n t r y , t h e s p a r e w h e e l
m a y b e s t e e l , a l l o y o r o f t h e " s p a c e s a v -
ing" type.
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t , r e f e r t o t h e p a r a -
graph "Access to the tools" on the previ-
ous page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
R a i s e t h e s p a r e w h e e l t o w a r d s y o u
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
P u t t h e b o x b a c k i n p l a c e i n t h e c e n -
tre of the wheel and clip it.
P u t t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x
back in place.

detection
T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s n o t fi t t e d
with a sensor. The punctured wheel

Parking the vehicle
I m m o b i l i s e t h e v e h i c l e w h e r e

g r o u n d m u s t b e l e v e l , s t a b l e a n d
non-slippery ground.
Apply the parking brake unless it
has been programmed to automatic
m o d e , s w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n -
g a g e fi r s t g e a r * t o l o c k t h e w h e e l s .
Check that the braking warning light
and the P warning light on the park-
ing brake lever come on.
I f n e c e s s a r y , p l a c e a c h o c k u n d e r t h e
wheel diagonally opposite the wheel
to be changed.
I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t y o u e n s u r e t h a t
the occupants get out of the vehicle
and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised
u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e s t a n d .
Removing the wheel
List of operations
R e m o v e t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r f r o m
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the anti-theft socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft
bolt.
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
p r o v i d e d o n t h e u n d e r f r a m e , w h i c h -
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d . E n s u r e
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e u n t i l t h e r e i s s u f -
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.
R e m o v e t h e b o l t s a n d s t o r e t h e m i n
a clean place.
R e m o v e t h e w h e e l .

After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel
i n t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e -
move the central cover.
When using the "space-saving" type
s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d 5 0 m p h
( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts and
the pressure of the spare wheel
c h e c k e d b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r w i t h -
out delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as soon
as possible.
Fitting the wheel
List of operations
Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand to the
stop.
Pre-tighten the anti-theft bolt using
the wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
Lock the anti-theft bolt using the
wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Lock the other bolts using the wheel-
brace 1 only.

CHANGING A BULB
Procedure for replacing a faulty bulb
with a new bulb without the use of
tools.
Model with halogen lights
1. Direction indicators (HP24-24 W).
2. Dipped headlamps (H7-55 W).
3. Main beam headlamps (H7-55 W).
4. Daytime lights (HP24-24 W).
5. Fog lamps (PS24-24 W).
6. Side lights (W 5-5 W).

Model with xenon lights a

of the headlamps and rear lamps is
normal; it disappears after the lamps
have been on for a few minutes.
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h
polycarbonate glass with a
p r o t e c t i v e c o a t i n g :
do not clean them using a dry
or abrasive cloth, nor with a
detergent or solvent product,
u s e a s p o n g e a n d s o a p y w a t e r ,
when using a high pressure wash-
e r o n p e r s i s t e n t m a r k s , d o n o t d i -
rect at the lamps or their outlines
f o r t o o l o n g , s o a s n o t t o d a m a g e
their coating and their seals.
Front lamps
Do not touch the bulb directly with
y o u r fi n g e r s , u s e l i n t - f r e e c l o t h s .
Changing a halogen bulb should only
be done after the headlamp has been
switched off for a few minutes (risk of
serious burns).
I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t o u s e o n l y a n t i - u l t r a -
violet (UV) type bulbs in order not to
damage the headlamp.

CHANGING A FUSE
Procedure for replacing a faulty fuse
with a new fuse to rectify a failure of the
corresponding function.

remove the pliers. Changing a fuse

I d e n t i f y t h e f a u l t y f u s e b y c h e c k i n g

U s e t h e s p e c i a l p l i e r s t o e x t r a c t t h e
fuse from its housing.
Always replace the faulty fuse with a
fuse of the same rating.
Check the correspondence between

rating etched on the fu(se and the
