From the $&& '& , the main
010 menu offers various options
for guidance management:
– switching to "Selection-Movement on map" mode,
– direction of the map towards the North or in the direction of the vehicle,
– recentering of the map around the vehicle,
– opening of the services selection window visible on the map, such as hotels, service stations, etc.
– displaying of the window for ente- ring the description for recording
the current position of the vehiclein a directory file.

The contextual menu associated with the
010 application and with the
0&&+&'&  '10mode appears as a superimposed dis-
play, when these are in use in the
main screen window. This menu is limited to the following functions:
– displaying of the information on the location selected on the map,
– selection of a location on the map as a destination,
– storing of the location selected (postal address if available or, if it is not, GPS co-ordinates, so thatthey can be recorded in a directoryfile),
– switching to "Vehicle following on map" mode.

The gearbox always selects the most suitable gear according to the follow-ing parameters:
– the style of driving,
– the road profile,
– the vehicle load. The gearbox is then operating in auto-adaptive mode, without anyaction on your part.
)# * Never select function when the
vehicle is moving. Never select functions or unless
the vehicle is stationary.Never change between functions to optimise braking on a slippery surface.
For immediate maximum accelera-
tion without touching the gear lever,press the accelerator pedal down as
far as it will go (kickdown). The gear-box will automatically change downor maintain the gear selected untilmaximum engine speed is reached. When braking, the gearbox will auto- matically change down in order to
provide efficient engine braking. If you take your foot off the accelera-
tor suddenly, the gearbox will notchange to a higher gear for reasons
of safety.

 In addition to the auto-adaptive pro- gramme, there are two special pro-grammes. The programme is displayed on the instrument panel screen.

any time. It is only possible to change from one gear to another if the vehicle speedand engine speed permit. If they donot, the vehicle will operate tem-porarily in automatic mode. When the vehicle is stationary or
moving very slowly, the gearboxautomatically selects gear %.

# 2#* The air bags have been designed to maximise the safety of the occupantsin the event of serious collisions.They work in conjunction with the
force-limiting seat belts. The elec-tronic detectors register and analyseany abrupt deceleration of the vehicle:if the triggering threshold is reached,the air bags inflate instantly and pro-tect the occupants of the vehicle. Immediately after the impact, the air bags deflate rapidly so that they donot hinder the visibility of the occu-pants nor their exit if necessary fromthe vehicle. The air bags are not deployed in the case of collisions which are not serious, for which the seat belt is suf-ficient to ensure maximum protec-
tion. The seriousness of a collisiondepends on the nature of the obstacleand the speed of the vehicle at themoment of the collision.
