Make a careful note of the
number on each key. The
key number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, your PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote control
is a sensitive system; do not oper-
ate it while it is in your pocket as
there is a possibility that it may un-
lock your vehicle, without you being
aware of it.
The remote control does not oper-
ate when the key is in the ignition,
even when the ignition is switched
off, except for reprogramming.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.
Driving with the doors locked may
make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
services more dificult in an emer-
gency.
As a safety precaution (with chil-
dren on board), remove the ignition
key when you leave the vehicle,
even for a short time.
Do not repeatedly press the button
of your remote control out of range
of your vehicle. You run the risk of
stopping it from working and the
remote control would have to be
reprogrammed. When purchasing a second-hand
vehicle:
- ensure that you are given the
conidential card;
- have the key codes memorised by a PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure
that the keys in your possession
are the only ones which can start
the vehicle.
Do not make any modiications to
the electronic engine immobiliser
system.

ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore prevents
starting of the vehicle by anyone who
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
must be recognised for starting to be
possible.
If the system does not function
correctly, the central locking but-
ton indicator light, situated in the
centre of the fascia, lashes rapidly
when the ignition is switched on (2nd
notch). In this case your vehicle will
not start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
Confidential card
The conidential card contains the
identiication code necessary for any
work carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer on the electronic immobiliser
system. This code is hidden by a
ilm, which should be removed only
if necessary.
Keep your card in a safe place,
never inside the vehicle.
Changing the battery of the
remote control
Warning that the battery is lat is giv-
en by an audible signal accompanied
by the message
"Remote control
battery low" on the multifunction
display.
To replace the battery, remove the
screw then unclip the casing using a
coin at the ring (CR 2016/3 volt bat-
tery).
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reprogram the remote control.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the driv-
er's door, if the key has been left in
the ignition.
Programming the remote
control
F Switch off the ignition.
F Switch the ignition on again.
F Press button
A immediately for a
few seconds.
F Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote control
is now working again.

THE ALARM
This provides two types of protection:
- exterior protection: it sounds if
a door, the boot or the bonnet is
opened.
- interior protection
: it sounds if
the volume inside the passenger
compartment changes (breaking of
a window or a movement inside the
vehicle).
Note: the interior protection alarm
does not function if the vehicle's roof
is open (cabriolet position). When the alarm is triggered, the si-
ren sounds and the direction indica-
tor lights lash for thirty seconds.
After triggering, the alarm remains set.
Warning: if the alarm has been trig-
gered ten times in succession, on the
eleventh time it becomes inactive.
Note: if button A indicator light
lashes rapidly, the alarm has been
triggered while you were away from
your vehicle. F
Set the alarm by locking or dead-
locking using the remote control
(button
A indicator light lashes
once a second).
Note: when the alarm is set but the
remote control does not operate:
F Unlock the door with the key and
open it. The alarm is triggered.
F Switch on the ignition. The alarm
is disarmed.
* According to destination.
Setting the alarm
F Switch off the ignition and get out
of the vehicle.
F Set the alarm by locking or dead-
locking using the remote control
(button
A indicator light lashes
once per second).
Note: if you wish to lock your vehicle
without setting the alarm, use the door
lock.
Disarming
Unlock the vehicle with the remote
control key (button A indicator light
goes out).
Note: if the alarm has been triggered
while you were away from your vehicle,
the rapid lashing of the indicator light will
stop when you switch on the ignition.
To set the alarm with exterior
protection only
If, while you are away from the ve-
hicle, you wish to leave a window
partially open or a pet inside the
vehicle, you should choose exterior
protection only.
F Switch off the ignition,
F In the next ten seconds, press
button
A until the indicator light is
on continuously,
F Get out of the vehicle,
Incorrect operation
When the ignition is switched on, if
button A lights for ten seconds, there
is a fault in the siren connection.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Automatic activation*
The alarm is activated automatically
two minutes after the last closure of a
door or the boot.
In order to avoid accidental triggering
of the alarm when a door or the boot
is opened, it is essential to irst press
the unlocking button on the remote
control.

Reinitialisation of the automatic
partial opening of the door
windows
Carry out this operation following
reconnection of the battery and
reinitialisation of the electric windows
(see corresponding section):
F partially open the door,
F close the door,
F wait for a few seconds,
F place your hand behind the han-
dle, the window automatically low-
ers by a few centimetres.
YOUR 307 CC IN DETAIL
THE DOORS
Opening the doors from
outside
When you place your hand behind
the handle, the window automati-
cally lowers by a few millimetres. It
rises again after a few seconds and
adjusts automatically on closing to
provide perfect sealing.
Notes: when the vehicle is unlocked,
if you leave your hand on the handle
for more than 5 seconds, the window
rises again. Remove your hand to
reactivate the system.
When washing your vehicle:
- do not forget to lock it to avoid any risk of automatic partial opening of
the windows,
- avoid soaking the upper part of the windows.
Opening the doors from
inside
The door opening controls do not
function when the vehicle is dead-
locked.
Before carrying out any
work which requires
cutting off of the battery,
lower the windows to
make it easier to open and close
the doors.
In the event of a battery cut-off, it
is still possible to open the doors.
However, it is imperative that the
door is not slammed on closing.
It will be necessary to reinitialise
the window controls and the auto-
matic partial opening of the door
windows.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.

on horizontal ground, it is possi-
ble to carry out the operation at a
speed below 6 mph (10 km/h).
F Ensure that the screen
1 is
hooked on (no object must be
placed on the screen or on the
hinged covers
2; if there is lug-
gage in the boot, this must not
push the screen upwards).
F Check that no object has been
placed on the rear parcel shelf.
F Close the boot correctly.
F Turn the ignition switch to the
ac-

(1st or 2nd notch). It is advisable
to carry out the operation with the
