FAMILIARISATION

Control A: windscreen wipers

2 Fast wipe.

1 Normal wipe.

I Intermittent wipe.

0 Park.

AUTO Automatic wiping or single
wipe.
Wash-wipe: pull the control towards
you.

Ring A: front and rear lights
Lights off.
Automatic switching on of
the lights.
Side lights.
Front and rear fog lamps.
Dipped/main beam headlamps.

Ring B: fog lamps

The position is displayed on the in-
strument panel by the corresponding
indicator light.
Wipers

Switching on "AUTO" mode
Push the control down and release
it.

Switching off "AUTO" mode
Push the control up and return it to
position "0" .
If the ignition has been off for more
than approximately one minute, the
automatic wiping must be reactivated.

Automatic windscreen wipers
In AUTO mode, the windscreen wip-
ers operate automatically and adapt
their speed to the intensity of the
rainfall .
Activation
Activation of the function is accom-
panied by a message on the multi-
function display.
Deactivation
Deactivation of the function is ac-
companied by a message on the
multifunction display.
The function is deactivated when the
windscreen wipers stalk is moved to
position I , 1 or 2 .

In the event of
malfunction of the
automatic windscreen wipers, the
windscreen wipers will operate in in-
termittent mode.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked. In this position, the courtesy
light comes on automatically:
- when the vehicle is unlocked,
- when the key is removed from the ignition,
- when a door is opened,
- when the vehicle location func- tion is used.
It switches off gradually:
- when the vehicle is locked,
- when the ignition is switched on,
- with the ignition off, 30 seconds after the last door is closed.

The automatic windscreen
wipers function must be reac-
tivated if the ignition has been
switched off for more than
one minute, by pressing the
stalk downwards. Do not cover the rain sensor lo-
cated on the windscreen behind
the interior mirror.
When using an automatic car
wash, switch off the ignition.
In winter, it is advisable to wait
for the windscreen to completely
clear of ice before operating the
automatic wipe.

Special front windscreen
wiper position

 Within one minute of switching off
the ignition, operate the wipers
stalk to position the wiper blades
in the centre of the windscreen
(maintenance position).
Changing a wiper blade

 Lift the wiper arm, then unclip the
blade and remove it.

 Fit the new blade and push back
the arm.

Note: the shortest blade is i tted on
the vehicle's right-hand windscreen
wiper arm.

To return the windscreen wipers to
their normal position, switch on the
ignition and operate the wiper stalk.
BATTERY
To charge the battery using a
battery charger:
- Disconnect the battery starting
with the negative (-) terminal,
- Follow the instructions for use given by the battery charger manu-
facturer,
- Check that the terminals and connectors are clean; if they are
covered with sulphate (white or
greenish deposit), disconnect
them and clean them,
- Reconnect the battery starting with the negative (-) terminal.

It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be
used for a period of more than
one month.
To start the vehicle from
another battery:
- Connect the red cable to the posi-
tive (+) terminals of the two batter-
ies,
- Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative (-) ter-
minal of the slave battery,
- Connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on
the broken down vehicle as far as
possible from the battery,

Operate the starter, let the engine run,
- Wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.
WIPER BLADE
Before disconnecting the bat-
tery, you must wait for 2 minutes
after switching off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal
when the engine is running.
Never charge a battery without
i rst disconnecting the terminals.
Close the windows, the retract-
able roof and the doors before
disconnecting the battery. If the
windows do not operate normal-
ly following reconnection of the
battery, they must be reinitialised
(see sections "Reinitialisation of
the electric windows" and "Reini-
tialisation of the automatic partial
opening of the door windows").
After every reconnection of the
battery, switch on the ignition
and wait 1 minute before starting
to allow the electronic systems to
be initialised. If slight difi culties
are experienced after this, please
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Following disconnection of the
battery, the remote control key
and the GPS satellite naviga-
tion system must be reinitialised
(see corresponding section).

Special front windscreen
wiper position
