THE KEYS
The keys allow you to switch
on the ignition and to independ-
ently operate the lock on the front
doors, the fuel iller cap and the
passenger air bag disarming
switch. Unlocking
Press button
B to unlock the ve-
hicle.
This is conirmed by
rapid lashing of the
direction indicators.
Note: If the vehicle is
locked and unlocking
is activated inadvert-
ently, the vehicle will lock auto-
matically unless a door is opened
within 30 seconds.
The remote control key
Locking
Press button A to lock the vehicle.
This is conirmed by ixed lighting
of the direction indicators for ap-
proximately two seconds.
Note: a long press on button A, in
addition to locking, automatically
closes the windows.
Central locking
From the driver's door, the keys
allow you to lock, deadlock or
unlock the doors and the tailgate
and to fold back the exterior mir-
rors.
If one of the doors or the boot is
open, it is impossible to operate
the central locking; a bleep indi-
cates this when locking by remote
control.
The remote control performs
the same functions at a dis-
tance. Deadlocking renders the
internal and external door
locking controls inopera-
tive.
Press button A to deadlock the
vehicle.
This is conirmed by ixed lighting
of the direction indicators for ap-
proximately two seconds.
Note: a long press on button A,
in addition to deadlocking, auto-
matically closes the windows.
A second press on button A
within 5 seconds of deadlocking,
changes this to normal locking.
This is conirmed by ixed lighting
of the direction indicators for ap-
proximately two seconds.

air bags*
Side air bags are incorporated
into the front seat back frame, on
the door side.
Curtain air bags are incorporated
into the door pillars and the top of
the passenger compartment.
They are deployed independently
of each other, on whichever side
the collision occurs.
Disarming the passenger
air bag*
F With the ignition off , insert
the ignition key into slot 1 and
turn the passenger air bag
switch to the "OFF" position.
As soon as you remove the child
seat, turn the air bag switch to the
'ON' position, to activate the air
bag again.AIR BAGS
The air bag system has been
designed to maximise the safety
of the occupants in the event
of serious collisions. It works in
conjunction with the force limiting
seat belts. With the ignition switched
on (2nd notch of the igni-
tion),
illumination of this
warning light, accompa-
nied by the message 'Passen-
ger air bag deactivated' on the
multi -function display, indicates
that the passenger air bag is
disarmed (switch in the "OFF"
position).
The warning light remains on
throughout the disarming proc-
ess.
Disarming check
Front air bags
These are folded in the centre of
the steering wheel for the driver
and in the fascia for the front
passenger. They are deployed
simultaneously, except in cases
where the passenger air bag is
disarmed.
Precautions regarding
the passenger air bag
F disarm the air bag if you install
a rear facing child seat,
F activate the air bag for an adult
passenger.

AND DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
F When stationary, pull handle A
to unlock the steering wheel.
F Adjust the height and depth of
the steering wheel.
F Lock it by pushing handle A in
fully.
ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window.
2 - Passenger's electric window.
3 - Rear right electric window.
4 - Rear left electric window.
5 - Disarming the rear window switches.
Manual operation:
F Press or pull the switch lightly.
The window stops as soon as
the switch is released. Automatic operation:
F
Press or pull the switch irmly.
One touch completely opens
or closes the window.
Safety auto-reverse: When the window is closing and meets an
obstacle, it stops and lowers again.
ELECTRIC MIRRORS
F Slide switch 6 to the right or
left to select the corresponding
mirror.
F Then move the button 7 in all
four directions to adjust.
F Return switch 6 to the centre
position. When parking the vehicle, the
mirrors can be folded back elec-
trically by pulling switch

rearwards or automatically
on locking the vehicle.
