The key cannot be removed
from the lock until the cap is
put back on the tank.
Opening the cap may trigger a vacu-
um. This is demonstrated by a noise
which is caused by the sealing of the
fuel circuit.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
W h e n fi l l i n g i s c o m p l e t e :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Operating fault
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated by
the return of the fuel level indicator nee-
dle to zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
More than 5 litres of fuel must be add-
ed in order to be registered by the fuel
gauge.
When the fuel tank minimum level
is reached (approximately 5 litres),
this warning light comes on on the
instrument panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display.
You have enough fuel left to drive
approximately 30 miles (50 km).
If you run out of fuel (Diesel),
refer to the "Checks - § Run-
ning out of fuel" section also.

LIGHTING CONTROLS
System for selection and control of the
various front and rear lights providing
the vehicle's lighting.
Main lighting
The various front and rear lights of the
vehicle are designed to adapt the light-
ing progressively in relation to the cli-
matic conditions and so improve the
driver's visibility:
- side lights, to be seen,
- dipped headlamps to see without dazzling other drivers,
- main beam headlamps to see clear- ly when the road is clear,
- directional headlamps for improved visibility when cornering.
Additional lighting
O t h e r l i g h t s a r e i n s t a l l e d t o f u l fi l t h e r e -
quirements of particular driving conditions:
- a rear fog lamp to be seen from a distance,
- front fog lamps for even better visibility,
-
daytime lights to be seen during the day.
Programming
Various automatic lighting control
modes are also available according to
the following options:
- follow-me-home lighting,
- automatic lighting,
- directional lighting. Model without AUTO lighting

Manual controls
The lighting commands are issued dir-
ectly by the driver by means of the ring
A
and the stalk B .
A. Main lighting mode selection ring,
with:
lamps off,
sidelamps only,
B. Stalk for switching headlamps by
pulling: dipped headlamps/main
beam headlamps.
In the lamps off and sidelamps modes,
the driver can switch on the main beam
headlamps temporarily ("headlamp
fl a s h " ) b y m a i n t a i n i n g a p u l l o n t h e
stalk. dipped headlamps or
main beam headlamps.

Manual follow-me-home lighting
The temporary maintaining of the
dipped headlamps lighting after the ve-
hicle's ignition has been switched off
makes the driver's exit easier when the
light is poor.
Switching on

Switching off
The manual follow-me-home lighting
switches off automatically after a set
time.
Daytime lights
System which permits switching on of the
special lights at the front (low consump-
t i o n ) , s o t h a t y o u c a n b e s e e n d u r i n g t h e
daytime.
The daytime lights come on automatically
w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s s t a r t e d , i f fi t t e d * .
The instruments and controls (multi-
function display, air conditioning control
p a n e l , . . . ) a r e n o t l i t , e x c e p t w h e n t h e
lights are switched on manually or au-
tomatically.

Exterior welcome lighting
The remote switching on of the lights
makes your approach to the vehicle
easier in poor light. It operates with
the automatic switching on of the lights
mode activated.

Switching off
The exterior welcome lighting switches
off automatically after a set time, when
the ignition is switched on or on locking
the vehicle.
Programming
In countries in which this
function is not imposed by
regulations, you can acti-
vate or deactivate it via the
multifunction display con-
fi g u r a t i o n m e n u .
Programming The duration of maintaining
of the lighting is selected
via the multifunction dis-
p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u .
The duration of the welcome
lighting is associated with and
identical to that of the automatic
follow-me-home lighting.
In countries in which it is imposed by
regulations:
- by default, this function is activated,
- the side lights and the number plate
l i g h t s a r e a l s o s w i t c h e d o n * .
Press the open padlock on
the remote control.
The dipped headlamps and the side
lights come on; your vehicle is also un-
locked.
