Do not disconnect the terminals
w h i l e t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g .
Do not charge the batteries without
d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e t e r m i n a l s fi r s t .
The batteries contain harmful sub-
stances such as sulphuric acid and
l e a d . T h e y m u s t b e d i s p o s e d o f i n
accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
d i s c a r d e d w i t h h o u s e h o l d w a s t e .
Take used remote control batteries
a n d v e h i c l e b a t t e r i e s t o a s p e c i a l
c o l l e c t i o n p o i n t .
Charging the battery using a
battery charger
Disconnect the battery from the
v e h i c l e .
Follow the instructions for use pro-
v i d e d b y t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r o f t h e
c h a r g e r .
R e c o n n e c t s t a r t i n g w i t h t h e n e g a t i v e
t e r m i n a l ( - ) .
Check that the terminals and connec-
t o r s a r e c l e a n . I f t h e y a r e c o v e r e d w i t h
sulphate (whitish or greenish deposit),
r e m o v e t h e m a n d c l e a n t h e m .
A t t h e r i s k o f d i s c h a r g i n g t h e b a t t e r y ,
t h e d e a c t i v a t e d f u n c t i o n s c a n b e
r e a c t i v a t e d m a n u a l l y . System which manages the use of certain
f u n c t i o n s i n r e l a t i o n t o t h e l e v e l o f c h a r g e
r e m a i n i n g i n t h e b a t t e r y .
W h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s b e i n g d r i v e n , t h e
load reduction function temporarily de-
a c t i v a t e s c e r t a i n f u n c t i o n s , s u c h a s t h e
air conditioning, the neck heaters, the
r e a r s c r e e n d e - i c i n g . . .
T h e d e a c t i v a t e d f u n c t i o n s a r e r e a c t i v a t e d
automatically as soon as conditions
p e r m i t .
I t i s a d v i s a b l e t o d i s c o n n e c t t h e
b a t t e r y i f t h e v e h i c l e i s t o b e l e f t u n -
u s e d f o r m o r e t h a n o n e m o n t h . Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting

Close the roof, the windows and
the doors before disconnecting the
b a t t e r y .
Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to permit
i n i t i a l i s a t i o n o f t h e e l e c t r o n i c s y s t e m s .
