Passenger’s front airbag
START

1. Insert the key.

2. Select position:
"OFF" (deactivated), with "rear facing"
child seat,
"ON" (activated), with front passenger
or "forwards facing" child seat.

3. Remove the key keeping the switch
in the new position.
1. Stop position.

2. Ignition on (
Running ) position.

3. Starting position.

A. Front and/or rear seat belts not fas-
tened/unfastened warning lamp.

to the key which would weigh down
on its shaft in the ignition switch;
this could cause a malfunction.

Engine self-diagnostic
system.
If this comes on, it indicates the
occurrence of a fault in the en-
gine management system.
If it fl ashes, it indicates the occurrence of
a fault in the emission control system.
Maximum coolant
temperature.
If this comes on, it indicates that
the temperature in the cooling
system is too high. Stop the vehicle as
soon as it is safe to do so.
Low fuel level.
When this fi rst comes on, you
have approximately 6 litres of
fuel remaining in the tank.
Refuel as soon as possible to avoid run-
ning out of fuel. Airbags.
If this comes on, it indicates the
occurrence of a fault in one of
the airbag, roll-over hoop or
seat belt pretensioner systems.
Seat belt not fastened/
unfastened.
If this comes on, it indicates
that the driver and/or the front
passenger has not fastened or has un-
fastened their seat belt.
It also indicates that one or more rear
passengers have unfastened their seat
belt.
Water in Diesel * .
If this comes on, it indicates the
presence of water in the Diesel
fi lter.
There is a risk of damage to the injec-
tion system on Diesel engines. Door open.
A door or the boot is open:
Battery charge.
If this comes on, it indicates
the occurrence of a fault in the
battery charging circuit (dirty or
loose terminals, slack or cut alternator
belt...). Engine oil pressure.
If this comes on, it indicates the
occurrence of a fault in the en-
gine lubrication system. Stop
the vehicle as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Specifi c warning lamps
Dynamic stability control
(ESP/ASR).
The ESP/ASR system is put into
service automatically when the
vehicle is started.
Unless the system has been deactivated, if this
warning lamp and the indicator lamp on the
button come on continuously, this indicates the
occurrence of a fault in the ESP/ASR system.
* According to country.
-
if the speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h), this
warning lamp comes on continuously.
- if the speed is higher than 6 mph
(10 km/h), this warning lamp comes
on continuously, accompanied by an
audible signal.
Never continue to drive until you
run out of fuel, this could damage
the emission control and injection
systems.
Foot on brake.
Press the brake pedal to start
the engine with the automatic
gearbox. Until suffi cient fuel has been added, this
warning lamp comes on again every the
ignition is switched on, along with an au-
dible signal and an alert message. When
driving, this audible signal and the display
of the message are repeated with increas-
ing frequency, as the fuel level drops to-
wards
"0" .
Capacity of the tank: approximately 60 litres .

Fastening

 Pull the strap, then insert the tongue
in the buckle.

 Check that the seat belt is fastened
correctly by pulling the strap.
When the ignition is switched
on, this warning lamp comes
on, either on the instrument
panel or on the seat belt and
passenger’s front airbag warn-
ing lamp display, if the driver and/or the
front passenger has not fastened their
seat belt.
Unfastening

 Press the red button on the buckle.

 Guide the seat belt as it reels in.

1. Front and/or rear seat belts not fas-
tened/unfastened warning lamp.

2. Front left seat belt warning lamp.

3. Front right seat belt warning lamp.

4. Rear right seat belt warning lamp.

5. Rear left seat belt warning lamp.
Seat belt not fastened/unfastened
warning lamps display
The corresponding warning lamp
2 or 3
comes on in red on the seat belt and
passenger’s front airbag warning lamps
display if the seat belt is not fastened or
is unfastened.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h)
this warning lamp fl ashes for two min-
utes accompanied by an audible signal
of increasing volume. Once these two
minutes have elapsed, this warning
lamp remains on until the driver and/or
the front passenger fastens their seat
belt.
The front seat belts are fi tted with a pre-
tensioning and force limiting system.
This system improves safety in the front
seats in the event of a front impact.
Depending on the severity of the im-
pact, the pretensioning system instantly
tightens the seat belts against the body
of the occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are active
when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure of
the seat belt on the chest of the occupant,
so improving their protection.

Rear seat belts
The rear seats are each fi tted with a
three-point inertia reel seat belt with
force limiter.
Seat belt unfastened warning lamp This warning lamp comes on,
either on the instrument panel
or on the seat belt and pas-
senger’s front airbag warning
lamps display, when one or more rear
passengers unfasten their seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h),
this warning lamp fl ashes for two min-
utes accompanied by an audible signal
of increasing volume. Once these two
minutes have elapsed, this warning
lamp remains on until the one or more
rear passengers fasten their seat belt.
Fastening

 Remove the strap from the guide A
before use.

 Pull the strap, then insert the tongue
in the buckle.

 Check that the seat belt is fastened
correctly by pulling the strap.
Unfastening

 Press the red button on the buckle.

 Guide the seat belt as it reels in. In the "cabriolet" confi guration, if
the rear seats are not occupied,
slide the straps in the guides

When the ignition is switched on, with
the engine running or the vehicle mo-
ving at a speed below approximately
12 mph (20 km/h), the corresponding

for approximately 30 seconds, if the
seat belt is not fastened.
When the vehicle is moving at a speed
of more than approximately 12 mph
(20 km/h), the corresponding warning
lamp 4 or 5 comes on in red, accom-
panied by an audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen, if a
rear passenger has unfastened their
seat belt.

LOCATIONS FOR CHILD SEATS SECURED USING THE SEAT BELT
In accordance with European regulations, this table indicates the options for the installation of child seats secured using the
seat belt and universally approved (a) in relation to the wei ght of the child and the seat in the vehicle.
(a) Universal child seat: child seat which can be installed in all vehicles using the seat belt.
(b) Group 0: from birth to 10 kg. Infant car seats and "car" cots ca nnot be installed on the front passenger seat.
(c) Consult the legislation in force in your country before inst alling your child on this seat.
(d) To install a child seat, move the front seat fo rward, then put the seat back in the upright positi on to leave enough space for
the child seat and the child's legs. The front seat can be moved further forward than the intermediate longitudinal position.
