Familiarisation
Limit the causes of excess
consumption
Spread loads throughout the vehicle; placethe heaviest items in the bottom of the boot,as close as possible to the rear seats.Limit the loads carried in the vehicle and reduce wind resistance (roof bars, roof rack, bicycle carrier, trailer...). Use a roof box inpreference.Remove roof bars and roof racks after use.

At the end of winter, remove snow tyres and refit your summer tyres.
Observe the recommendations
on maintenance
Check the tyre pressures regularly, when cold, referring to the label in the door aper ture, driver's side.
Carry out this check in par ticular:- before a long journey,- at each change of season,- after a long period out of use. Don't forget the spare wheel and the tyres onany trailer or caravan.
Have your vehicle ser viced regularly (engine oil, oil filter, air filter...) and obser ve the schedule of operations recommended by themanufacturer.

When refuelling, do not continue after the3 rd
cut-off of the nozzle to avoid any over flow.

At the wheel of your new vehicle, it is only after the first 1 800 miles (3 000 kilometres) that you will see the fuel consumption settledown to a consistent average.

Instruments and controls
Service indicator
System which informs the driver when the next service is due in accordance with the manufacturer's servicing schedule.
The point at which the next ser vice is due is
calculated from the last service indicator zero
reset.
It is determined by two parameters:
- the distance travelled (in miles (km)),
- the time elapsed since the last service (in months).
The distance remaining to be travelled may be
wei
ghted by the time factor, depending on theuse made of the vehicle.
Exam
ple: the screen indicates that 7300 miles(kilometres) remain before the next ser vice is due.

Service overdue
Example:the screen indicates that the serviceis overdue. This ser vice must be carried out bya PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Operation
The symbol "--"remains displayed until the first service of a new vehicle has been carried out. Each time the i
gnition is switched on, the"ROUTINE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED"symbol is displayed for a few seconds to indicate
that the ser vice must be carried out without delay. When the i
gnition is switched on, you must press
the INFObutton several times in succession until
the ser vice indicator is displayed. The distance recorder display line indicates the number of miles
or kilometres remaining and the time elapsed line
indicates the number of months remaining before
the next service is due.

Comfort
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and maintenance guidelines below: )
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obstruct the exterior air intake grilles
located at the base of the windscreen, the nozzles, the vents and the air outlets, as wellas the air extractor located in the boot. )
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the dashboard; this is used for regulation of the digital air conditioning system. )
Operate the air conditioning system for at least 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a monthto keep it in per fect working order. )
Ensure that the passenger compar tment filter is in good condition and have the filter elements replaced regularly. We recommend the use of a combined passenger compartment filter. Thanks to its special active additive, it contributes to the purification of the air breathed by theoccupants and the cleanliness of the passenger compartment (reduction of allergic symptoms, bad odours and greasy deposits).)
To ensure correct operation of the air conditioning system, you are also advised to haveit checked regularly as recommended in the ser vicing booklet. )
If the system does not produce cold air, switch it off and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Recommendations for ventilation and air conditioning

If after an extended stop in sunshine, the interior temperature is very high, firstventilate the passenger compartment for
a few moments. Put the air flow control at a setting high enough to quickly change the air in the passenger compartment.

The air conditioning system does notcontain chlorine and does not present any danger to the ozone layer.

The condensation created by the air conditioning results in a dischargeof water under the vehicle which is perfectly normal.

When towing the maximum load on a steep gradient in high temperatures, switching off theair conditioning increases the available engine power and so improves the towing ability.

Driving
The system is reactivated automatically at every new star t using the key or the STA R T/STOP button.

Reactivation

Press the "AS&G OFF"switch again.
The s
ystem is active again; this is confirmed by
the "AS &G O FF "
warning lamp going off in the
instrument panel or instrument panel screen.
Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction with the system,
the "AS&G OFF"warning lamp flashes in theinstrument panel or instrument panel screen, and the system no longer operates.
have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
This system requires a specific battery with a special specification and technology (reference numbersavailable from a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop).
Fitting a battery not listed by
PEU
GEOT introduces the risk of malfunction of
the system.

Maintenance

The "Auto Stop & Go" system makes use of advanced technology. All work on this type of battery must be doneonly by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
In the event o
f a fault in STOP mode, the
vehicle may stall. The following warning lampscome on in the instrument panel or instrumentpanel screen:
It is then necessar
y to switch off the ignition,
then restart the engine using the key or theSTA R T/STOP button.

Checks
Manual gearbox
Refer to the servicing booklet for maintenance of the gearbox.
"CVT" gearbox
Refer to the servicing booklet for maintenance of the "CVT" gearbox.
Particle emissions filter (Diesel)

The star t of saturation of the particle filter is
indicated by the temporary illumination of this
warning lamp accompanied by a message in
the instrument panel screen.
As soon as the traffic conditions permit, regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at least 25 mph (40 km/h) for about 20 minutes (with the 1.6 litre HDiengine the minimum speed is 36 mph(60 km/h)). If the warning lamp stays on, this indicates a low additive level.
On a new vehicle, the first particle filter regeneration operations may be accompanied by a "burning" smell, which is perfectly normal.Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or at idle,
you may, in exceptional circumstances, notice the emission of water vapour at the exhaust on acceleration. This doesnot affect the behaviour of the vehicle or the environment.
