Passenger air bag disarming warninglight Illumination of this warning
light is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multi-
function display. If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the indicator light comes on whenthe ignition is switched on andremains on. In all cases, if the warning light flashes,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Air bag warning light The warning light comes on for 6 seconds when the igni-tion is switched on.
Illumination of this warning light, withthe engine running, is accompaniedby an audible signal and a messageon the multifunction display indicatingthe cause of the front or side air bagfault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Water in diesel filter warning light (according to destination)
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
There is a risk of damage to the injection system. Diesel pre-heating indicator lightIf the engine is warm enough, the light will not come on and you can start the engine without waiting.
If the light comes on, wait until it goes out before trying the starter. Engine diagnostics warning light* This comes on each time the ignition is switched on. If it is lit continuously with the engine runnning, this indicates a fault in
the emission control system.If it flashes with the engine running, this indicates a malfunction in the injection
or ignition system. There is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter (petrolengine only).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Battery charge warning lightThis comes on each time the ignition is switched on.If it comes on with the engine running it can indicate:
Ð faulty operation of the charging circuit,
Ð loose battery or starter terminals,
Ð a cut or slack alternator belt,
Ð an alternator fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Display BThis enables the following information to be displayed:
Ð the time,
Ð the date,
Ð the outside temperature (the ¡C symbol flashes when there is a risk of ice),
Ð the radio displays,
Ð the status of the doors. The display shows you whether a door, the boot or thebonnet is open and if the fuel filler cap is missing.
Ð the warning messages (e.g. ''battery low'') or information messages (e.g. "top up fuel tank''), displayed temporarily, can be cleared by pressing button 1or 2
Ð the trip computer. Setting the parameters Press button 1for two seconds to access the settings. The information flashes to
show it is ready to be modified.Then, individual presses on button 1allow you to scroll through the various data
in the following sequence:
Ð language in which the information is displayed,
Ð unit of distance (kms or miles),
Ð unit of temperature (Celsius or Fahrenheit),
Ð time format (12 then 24 hour mode)
Ð hour,
Ð minutes,
Ð year,
Ð month,
Ð day. Pressing button 2allows you to change the information selected. Maintain the
pressure for rapid scrolling.After ten seconds without action, the display returns to the main screen and the modified data are recorded.

Confidential card The confidential card contains the identification code necessary for anywork carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer on the system. This code ishidden by a film, which should be
removed only if necessary. Keep your card in a safe place, never inside the vehicle.
DEADLOCKING
Deadlocking the doors is an addtional safety device.
Warning:The internal and external
door controls cannot operate when the vehicle is deadlocked.
There are two methods of operation:
With the the remote control
To deadlock: pressbutton A.
This is indicated by permanent lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.
Press button A within five seconds
of deadlocking to change this to lock-
ing only.
This is indicated by permanent lightingof the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.
With the ignition key from the driver's door
To deadlock: turn the key towards the rear of the vehicle.
To lock: within five seconds of deadlock- ing, again turn the key towards the rear
of the vehicle. To unlock: turn the keytowards the front of the vehicle.
Programming the remote control  Switch off the ignition.
 Switch the ignition on again.
 Press button Aimmediately.
 Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key
from the ignition lock. The remotecontrol is now working again.
Changing the battery of theremote control
The information
''battery flat''is given by
an audible signal accompa-nied by a
message on the multifunction display.
To replace the battery, unclip thecasing using a coin at the ring(CR2016/3 volt battery). If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed,reprogramme the remote control.
Do not operate the deadlock-ing if there is someone insidethe vehicle. Do not operate the buttons of
your remote control while it is in your pocket, as there is a possibility that itmay unlock your vehicle.

THE ALARM SYSTEM*
This offers two types of protection: ¥external , it sounds if a door, the
bonnet or the boot is opened.
¥ internal , it sounds if there is air
movement in the passenger compartment (a broken windowor movement inside the vehicle) .
Note: it also has an anti-tamper
function; if there is an attempt to tam-per with the wires to the siren, the
control unit or the battery, the sirensounds and the direction indicatorslight. Setting
Switch the ignition off and get out of the vehicle. Set the alarm within five minutes fol- lowing your exit from the vehicle bylocking using the remote control (thered light on the switch, visible fromthe outside, flashes every secondand the direction indicators come onpermanently for two seconds).
5 seconds later, internal protection is set.
45 seconds later, external protection is set. When the alarm is triggered, the siren sounds for thirty seconds. After it has been triggered, the alarm is operational again. Note:
if you wish to lock your vehicle
without setting the alarm, lock it using the key in the lock.
Warning
When the alarm is triggered, if a door, the boot or the bonnet are not closed
correctly, the siren sounds for amoment. Close the vehicle correctlyto set the alarm. Disarming Unlock the vehicle using the remote
control key, (the direction indicatorsflash for two seconds and the redlight on the switch goes out). Note:
if the red warning light flashes,
it is a sign that the alarm has been triggered during your absence.
To stop it, switch on the ignition.Note: when the alarm is set, but the
remote control no longer works:
¥ unlock the doors using the key and open the door; the alarm is trig- gered;
¥ switch the ignition on within ten seconds;
¥ press the internal protection button 1 immediately. The alarm is dis-
armed.

To disarm external type protection only
¥ see "Disarming" section. Note:if you wish to charge or replace
the battery:
¥ Turn on the ignition.
¥ You have 10 seconds after turning on the ignition to press the internal protection switch 1and hold it
down for two seconds.
¥ The warning light flashes rapidly for three seconds.
¥ Disconnect the battery.
¥ After reconnecting the battery, lock, then unlock the vehicle using the remote control.

To set the alarm to external protection only If you want to leave a window partially open, or a pet inside thevehicle, you need to select externalprotection only:
¥ Switch off the ignition.
¥ Within the next ten seconds, press the internal protection button 1
until the light comes on.
¥ Get out of the vehicle.
¥ Press the locking button on the remote control.
¥ The doors lock.
¥ The direction indicators light for two seconds.
¥ The red light on the switch flashes once a second.
Do not make any modifi- cations to the alarm sys-tem, this could causefaults.

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window switch.You have two options:
Ð Manual operation:Press or pull switch 1gently.
The window stops as soon as the switch is released.
Ð Automatic operation: Press or pull switch 1fully. The
window opens or closes com-pletely when the switch isreleased. Pressing the switchagain stops the movement of
the window.

Safety auto-reverse When the window on the driver's side rises and meets an obstacle,it stops and lowers again. Notes: In the case of unwanted opening of the window on closing (forexample, in the case of frost) ifthe window will not rise and goesinto safety auto-reverse mode,lower it completely and raise it
again immediately, by pulling theswitch until the window closes
completely. Continue to press theswitch for approximately one sec-ond after closing. Following reconnection of the
battery, in the event of a malfunc-tion, you must reinitialise thesafety auto-reverse function:
Ð open the window completely,
then close it, it will rise in stages of a few centimetreswith each press, repeat theoperation until the window iscompletely closed,
Ð continue to press the switch for at least one second afterreaching this position.
The safety auto-reverse func-tion is not operational duringthese operations. 2 - Passenger's electric window
switch.
3 - Rear left electric window switch.
4 - Rear right electric window switch.
5 - Disarming the rear window switches (child safety). For the safety of your children, press switch 5to prevent opera-
tion of the rear windows irrespec-tive of their position. The 1st press activates the switch and the 2nd press deacti-vates it.
Always remove the key from the ignition whenleaving the vehicle, evenfor a short time.
In the event of contact whenoperating the windows, you mustreverse the movement of the
window. To do this, press theswitch concerned. When the driver operates the passenger window switches, hemust ensure that no one ispreventing correct closing of the
window. The driver must ensure that passengers use the electric
windows correctly. Be aware of children when operating the windows.
