On/off
Adjusting the volume
Turn the dial clockwise to increase
the volume of the audio/telephone or
anti-clockwise to decrease it.
The volume setting is speciic to each
source. It is possible to have different
settings for radio, CD or CD changer,
telephone or voice synthesiser.
Selecting "None" permits
access to all of the settings
deined below.
Adjusting the Bass
When "Bass" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator.
- "-9" for minimum bass setting,
- mid-way for normal bass setting,
- "+9" for maximum bass setting.
Musical ambience
This function permits the selection of a
musical ambience: "None", "Classical",
"Jazz-Blues", "Pop-Rock", "Techno" or
"Vocal".
Select the musical ambience using
the navigator.
Selecting a musical ambience sets
the bass and treble automatically.Press the button to
switch the audio function
of the RT3 GPS audio/
telephone on or off.
The RT3 GPS audio/telephone can oper-
ate for approximately 30 minutes
without the vehicle's ignition being
switched on, under normal condi-
tions of use and maintenance of the
battery.
After the ignition has been switched
off, the audio/telephone can be
switched on again by pressing the
"TEL" (green), "LION" or "SOS" but-
ton or by inserting a CD in the player.
Anti-theft system
The RT3 GPS audio/telephone is
coded in such a way that it can op-
erate only on your vehicle. If it is to
be removed and itted to another
vehicle, check the feasibility and the
coniguration of the system with your
PEUGEOT dealer.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.

Exit from audio mode is by pressing

Notes on radio reception
The quality of the radio reception is
subject to external phenomena, due
to the nature of the signals and the
way in which they are transmitted.
Both MW/LW and FM are subject to
various forms of interference. This is
not a relection on the quality of the
equipment.
On MW/LW interference may be
noticed when passing under high
voltage power lines or bridges, or in
tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the re-
sult of increasing distance from the
transmitter, delection of the signals
by obstacles (mountains, hills, build-
ings etc.) or of being in an area which
is not covered by a transmitter.
Adjusting the Treble
When "Treble" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator.
-
"-9" for minimum treble setting,
- mid-way for normal setting,
- "+9" for maximum treble setting.
Adjusting the loudness
Switch the function on or off using
the navigator.
The loudness automatically empha-
sises bass and treble tones when the
volume is low.
Setting the left/right sound
distribution
When "Left - Right Balance" is dis-
played, vary the setting using the
navigator.
Setting the rear/front sound
distribution
When "Rear - Front Balance" is dis-
played, vary the setting using the
navigator.
Automatic volume adjustment
This function allows the volume to
be adjusted automatically depending
on the level of noise produced by the
speed of the vehicle.
Switch the function on or off using
the navigator.
Automatic station search
Briely press button 7
or 8 to search for the
station immediately
below or above.
The search stops at
the irst station found.
If the TA trafic information
program is selected, only
the most powerful stations
broadcasting this type of
program are selected.
Searching for a station occurs irst in
"LO" sensitivity (selection of the most
powerful transmitters) during scan-
ning of the waveband, then in "DX"
sensitivity (selection of the weaker
and more distant transmitters).
To make a direct search in "DX" sen-
sitivity, briely press button 7 or 8
twice.
Selecting radio mode
Press the "SOURCE"
button several times.
Selecting a waveband
Briely press the
"BAND" button sever-
al times to select the
FM1, FM2, FMast and
AM wavebands.
Manual station search
Briely press button 5 or 6 to decrease
or increase the fre-
quency displayed.
By continuing to
press the button
in the direction selected, you will
obtain continuous scrolling of the
frequency.
Scrolling stops at the irst station
found as soon as the button is re-
leased.

Manual station storing
Select the station required.
Press one of the buttons "1" to "6"
for
more than two seconds.
The sound is cut off and then returns,
conirming that the station has been
stored in the memory.
Automatic storing of FM stations
in the memory (Autostore)
Press the "BAND" but-
ton for more than two
seconds.
Your audio/telephone
automatically stores
the 6 stations with the
strongest signal in FM. These sta-
tions are stored in the FMast wave-
band.
If it is not possible to ind 6 stations,
the remaining memories are empty.
Displaying the stations available
You can display the list
of stations received lo-
cally by pressing the
"LIST" button. This list
can include up to 30 sta-
tions.
To update this list during your jour-
ney, press the "LIST" button for more
than two seconds.
Trafic information priority (TA)
Press the "TA/PTY"
button to switch the
function on or off.
The multifunction display will show:
- TA if the function is active,
- TA crossed out if the function is active but not available.
Any trafic information lash will be
given priority, whatever source you
are listening to (radio, CD or CD
changer).
If you wish to interrupt the broad-
casting of a message, press the
"SOURCE" button to return to the
source which was in use prior to the
interruption.
The trafic information volume is
independent of the normal audio/
telephone volume. You can set it
using the volume dial or the steer-
ing wheel control. The setting will
be stored and will be used when the
next messages are broadcast.
Search by type of program (PTY)
This is a search by type of program, if
the coding is activated by the broad-
casting stations.
It allows you to listen to stations
broadcasting a speciic type of pro-
gram (news, culture, sport, rock,
weather, etc.).
When FM is selected, press the "TA/
PTY" button for more than two sec-
onds to switch the function on or off.
If the function is active, to ind a PTY
program:
- press the "TA/PTY" button for more than
two seconds,
- press button 5 or 6 or turn the
dial to scroll down the different
types of programs offered, then
conirm the choice,
The irst station broadcasting the
theme selected is tuned to.
In PTY mode, the different types of
program can be stored in the memory.
To do this, press the preselection
buttons "1" to "6" for more than two
seconds. To recall the type of program
stored in the memory, briely press the
corrresponding button.

EON system
This system connects stations which
are part of the same network. It per-
mits the broadcasting of
TA trafic
information or a PTY program by a
station that is part of the same net-
work as the station to which you are
listening.
The service is available when you
have selected the TA trafic infor-
mation program or the PTY search
program. By pressing the navigator dial, in the
permanent radio application, you
can:
- Enter the frequency,
- Activate/Deactivate the RDS fre-
quency following,
- Activate/Deactivate the REG re- gional following mode,
- Display Radio Text to display information connected with the
station being listened to, if "RT" is
displayed permanently.
RDS
Using the RDS (Radio Data
System) function on FM
The RDS allows you to continue lis-
tening to the same station whatever
frequency it is using in the region
you are going through. The display
indicates the name of the station
selected.
However, poor coverage of the net-
work or particular conigurations
of the relief may interfere with the
transmission.
The radio is continually searching
for the transmitter which is transmit-
ting the same program with the best
reception. In the permanent audio application,
press the navigator briely to display
the "RADIO" contextual menu.
Activate or deactivate the RDS fre-
quency following.
The multifunction display will show:
- RDS if the function is active,
- RDS crossed out if the function is
active but not available.
Regional following mode (REG)
When they are part of a network,
certain stations broadcast regional
programs in the various areas which
they serve. The regional following
mode enables you to continue listen-
ing to the same program.
In the permanenet audio application,
press the navigator briely to display
the "RADIO" contextual menu.
Activate or deactivate the regional
following mode.
The multifunction display will show:
- REG if the function is active,
- REG crossed out if the function is active but not available.

- if a word is not recognised, the system says "Pardon" and dis-
plays "Word not recognised" on
the screen.

Saying the words "Help" or "What
can I say?" displays all of the com-
mands available on the screen.
- For the radio, say "RADIO", then:

- For the CD, say "CD PLAYER", then:

Voice commands
The voice commands enable you to
control a certain number of functions
of the RT3 GPS audio/telephone us-
ing pre-recorded words or phrases.
Activation of the voice commands
Press the end of the lights button to
activate or deactivate this function.
Example:
to recall the radio station
stored on button 3, the key words
are: "Radio" "Memory" "3".
To use these key words, you must
say the word "Radio", wait for the
audible conirmation signal, then
say the word "Memory", wait for the
audible conirmation signal, then end
with the word "3", wait for the audible
conirmation signal which will carry
out the action requested.

By pressing the navigator, you can
activate/deactivate the following func-
tions:
- random play with "RDM",
- playing of the start of the track
with "INTRO",
- repeating of a track with "RPT",
- programming of the tracks.You can also select a track directly via
the list of tracks on the CD:
- press the "LIST" button to display the list,
- press button 5 or 6 or turn the
dial to select the track,
- press the
navigator to start play-
ing the track.
Accelerated play
Press and hold button 7 or 8 for
backwards or forwards accelerated
play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as
the button is released.
Compact disc source
The use of copied compact discs
may cause faults.
Insert circular compact discs only.
Selecting CD mode
After inserting a disc,
printed face upwards,
the CD player starts
automatically.
If a disc has already
been inserted, press
the "SOURCE" button to select CD
mode.
Ejecting a disc
Press the button to
eject the disc from the
player.
Selecting a track
Press button 8 to
select the following
track.
Press button 7 to
return to the start of
the current track or
to select the previous
track.

You can also select a track directly

- press the "LIST" button to display the list,

turn the dial to select the track,

Compact disc changer source
The CD changer is located in the
boot on the right-hand side and can
contain 6 discs.
Press the navigator to activate/
deactivate the following functions:
- playing of the start of the track with "INTRO",
- random play with "RDM",
- repeating of the CD with "RPT".
Insert circular compact discs
only.
Compact discs of the irst
generation of laser technol-
ogy are no longer detected.
Some anti-pirating systems, on origi-
nal discs or CDs copied by a personal
writer may cause faults, irrespective
of the quality of the original player.
Selecting the CD changer source
Press the "SOURCE"
button several times.
Selecting a disc
Press one of the but-
tons "1" to "6" to select
the corresponding disc.
Buttons 5 and 6
permit the selection
of the previous/next
disc in the changer.
To insert a disc in the changer:
- open the sliding lap A,
- press button B to eject the car-
tridge C,
- open one of the six drawers of the cartridge by pulling the tab D,
- insert the disc in the cartridge,
printed face upwards, and close
the drawer,
- insert the cartridge in the changer following the direction of the
arrow,
- close the sliding lap A.

The general menu
Press the "MENU" button to access
the general menu and select one of
the following parameters and func-
tions: Navigation - Guidance, Audio
functions, Trip computer, Personalisa-
tion-coniguration, Directory, Telemat-
ics, Map* and Air Conditioning.
The "Personalisation-Coniguration"
menu provides access to successive
conirmation windows.
Deine the vehicle parameters
Permits the activation or deactiva-
tion of certain driving and comfort
functions:
- Deactivation of the driver wel- come function,
- Automatic switching on of the lights,
- Duration of the "follow-me-home" lighting,
- Activation of the automatic "follow- me-home" lighting,
- Activation of the permanent lock- ing of the boot. Display coniguration
- selection of the colours for the DT
display: selection of the colours
available for display.
- Sound: selection of the sound am- bience, setting of the voice synthe-
siser and of the voice commands.
- Brightness.
- Selection of the units of measure- ment.
