General notes on the «Map»
application**
The “Map” application has two
display modes:
- “Vehicle following on map”
mode, representing active guidance
on the map on the right and a large-
scale view of the next intersection
on the left,
- “Selection - Movement on map”
mode, representing consultation
of the map at full screen size or
reduced size on the right with a
compass on the left.
To switch from one mode to the other,
press the dial on the right briely, then
select the “Move the map” or “Exit
the map mode” function.

“Navigation - Guidance”
contextual menu
The contextual menu associated with
the “Navigation - Guidance” appli-
cation appears as a superimposed
display, when this is the application
currently in use in the main screen
window.
This menu is limited to the following
functions:
- changing of the initial route (entering of a diversion)*,
- switching to “Selection - Movement on map” mode**,
- storing of the current location (postal address if available or, if it is
not, the GPS co-ordinates),
- changing of the route calculation criteria,- stopping or resuming of guidance (displaying of the message which
changes depending on the previous
status),
- displaying of the map, full screen or reduced size on the right
(displaying of the message which
varies depending on the previous
status)**.

Video
It is possible to connect video
equipment (a camcorder, digital
camera, ...) using the three video
sockets situated inside the glove
box.
It is only possible to display
video images when the vehicle is
stationary.
Select the “Video” menu from the
main menu :
- “Activate video mode” to activate/ cancel the video function,
- “Video parameters” to adjust the display format, the brightness,
contrast and colour.
Press “MODE” or “DARK” to exit
video mode.
Successive presses on the
“SOURCE” button allow you to
select another audio source other
than the video.

Using the menus
Press the "MENU" button to dis-
play the general menu. Select the
telematics application, then validate
"Telephone functions" to access the
principal telephone functions, then
the various menus, in order to reach
the one required.
RT3 TELEPHONE
This function is a GSM dual-band
telephone (900 and 1 800 MHz)
incorporated in the RT3 GPS audio/
telephone.
It is a "hands-free" telephone. This
function is provided by a microphone
located next to the front courtesy
light, the speakers, a steering column
control and voice commands which
allow access to most of the functions
(the audio/telephone control panel
buttons allow access to all of the
functions).
Display of the principal "mobile" type
functions, as well as consultation of
the directories, is provided by the
multi-function display.
This function is active whatever
position the ignition key is in, even
after thirty minutes, when the mes-
sage appears on the multi-function
display.
For safety reasons, the driver must
carry out operations which require
prolonged attention while the vehicle
is stationary.
When the ignition has been switched
off, the audio/telephone can be
switched on again by pressing the
"TEL" (green), "LION" or "SOS"
button or by inserting a CD in the
player. Within each menu:
Move around by
pressing the 5 or 6
buttons or by turning
the navigator dial, then
validate by pressing
the dial to select a
function.
Cancel an operation by means of the
"ESC" button.
- Network: allows you to select the network search mode and to see
the networks available.
- Duration of calls: allows you to consult the duration recorder of
calls made and zero re-set.
- Security: allows you to use or modify the PIN code and to erase
the list of calls and text messages
(SMS).
- Telephone options: allows you to conigure the calls with entering of
my number, automatic answering
after X rings, speciication of ring
options and allows you to conig-
ure the call diversion number. This menu allows you
to access the following
functions:
Using the alphanumeric

For a given button, to input a charac-
ter in the second or subsequent rows
press until you obtain the character
required.

Cancelling of PIN code request
In the menu "Telephone functions"

select "Security", then "Process the
PIN code", then validate the "Cancel"
function.
Recommendation: do not lose your
SIM card. Losing it would mean
anyone who inds it would be able to
make unlimited calls.
Interior comfort
Open the lap by pressing
the point of a pencil on the
circular opening above the
lap.
Insert your Micro-SIM card, available
from a mobile telephone operator, as
indicated in the graphics, then close
the lap.
Note: removal or insertion of the SIM
card must only be carried out after
the RT3 GPS audio/telephone has
been switched off.
Handle the SIM card with care to
avoid losing it in the fascia.
Installing the SIM card
The PIN code is required each time
the ignition is switched on, unless the
PIN code has been stored or protec-
tion by PIN is not activated on the
SIM card.
Input your PIN code using the alphanu-
meric keypad and validate by pres-
sing the navigator dial or button # to
access the network. Connection to
the network is validated by the ap-
pearance of a symbol on the screen.
If you make three errors in succes-
sion when inputting your PIN code,
your SIM card will be blocked. To
unblock it, you will need to input the
PUK code. The PUK code will be
supplied to you by the person sell-
ing your SIM card (input of the PUK
code allows for 10 errors in succes-
sion; after this the SIM card becomes
permanently unusable).

Telephone function screens
Not in use
The screen indicates the presence
of voice messages or text messages
(SMS) not listened to, the cumulative
time in use since the last zero reset
and the status of your telephone.
In use
The screen indicates the time
elapsed since the start of the con-
versation, as well as the number* or
name of the person to whom you are
speaking (if recorded in the directory)
and the status of your telephone.
* If this option and service are available.
Interior comfort
Press the button to display the con-
textual menu of the telephone.
Pressing the end of the steering col-
umn control
for more than 2 seconds
calls up a contextual menu limited
to the "Directory", "List of calls" and
"Voice mail" functions.
Making a call
Select the function "Enter
number" then enter the
number of the person you
wish to speak to using the
alphanumeric keypad.
Press the "Pick up" button to make
the call.

Select the "Directory" function to
access all the iles containing a tele-
phone number or the "List of calls"

function to access the list of the last
twenty incoming (if the number display
option is active) or outgoing calls.
There are two directories, the RT3
GPS audio/telephone directory and
the SIM card directory. To consult the
SIM directory, insert your SIM card
and enter you PIN code. When a ringing sounds
to let you know that a
call is waiting, you can
choose either to accept
it by pressing the "pick
up" button or the end of the steering
wheel remote control or not to accept
it by pressing the "hang up" button or
by selecting and validating the "NO"
button on the "Answer?" screen.
Receiving a call
If you accept the call, to
end your communica-
tion, press the "hang up"
button.
If you do not accept the
call, it is transferred to your voice
mail or to a call diversion number.
You can activate or deactivate this
transfer by pressing the "hang up"
button for more than two seconds.

Text messages (SMS)
Accessing text messages
When the buzzer sounds (if the SMS
text messages buzzer option is ac-
tive) and a superimposed screen
announces "Do you wish to read the
new text message (SMS)?", you can
choose to read the text message
received by selecting and validating
"YES" or postpone reading it by se-
lecting and validating "NO", by press-
ing the "ESC" button or by waiting
until the announcement disappears.
Note: the old text messages stored
and the new text messages, the read-
ing of which you wish to postpone,
can be consulted. Press the "MENU"
button then validate the telematic
icon, select "Text messages (SMS)"
and validate the function "Reading of
text messages received" by pressing
the navigator. Then scroll through the
list by turning the knob and press the
knob to select the text message to
be read (if the voice synthesiser is
active). Sending a text message
Before typing your irst text mes-
sage, check that your text messages
(SMS) centre number is stored cor-
rectly in the sub-menu "Server cen-
tre N°". If it is not, any text messages
typed before this number is entered
will not be sent.
In the menu "Text messages (SMS)"
validate the function "Typing of a text
message". Type your text message
using the alphanumeric keypad and
validate it using the "OK" button to
store it or validate the "Send" button
to send it. Validation of the "Send"
button enables you to enter the
number of your recipient or select it
from the directory or from the list of
calls and send the message.
"Duration of calls" menu
Select the "Duration of calls" function
from the "Telephone functions" menu
to consult the duration counters for
the calls made. The part counter to-
tals the duration of the calls since the
last zero reset carried out using the
"Zero reset" button.
"Telephone options" menu
Select the "Telephone options" func-
tion from the "Telephone functions"
menu to access the functions: • "Conigure the calls" which per-
mits activation and deactivation
of the "show my number" and "au-
tomatic answering after X rings"
functions,
• "Ringing options" which permits
adjustment of the ringing volume
for voice calls, activation of the
text messages (SMS) receipt
buzzer and selection of a ring
tone from the ive offered,
• "Diversion number/voice mail"
which permits recording of the call
diversion number chosen by the
customer, otherwise the call will
be transferred to the voice mail.

"PEUGEOT Assistance"/
Emergency call
A green diode lashes on the RT3
GPS audio/telephone panel, when the
emergency call procedure or a call to
"PEUGEOT Assistance" begins, then
lights continuously when the call is
taken by the services concerned.
Services*
Press the button to
display the "Services"
menu and select one of
the following services:
• "Customer Contact Centre" con-
tacts the PEUGEOT Customer
Contact Centre directly and per-
mits access to the services offered
(this call is suspended if an emer-
gency or assistance call has been
made).
• "PEUGEOT Assistance" enables
you to contact the call centre
which controls the PEUGEOT as-
sistance service directly, make an
assistance request and receive
rapid assistance (you have 6 sec-
onds within which to cancel the
call when it is made). During the
assistance call phase it is not pos-
sible to make any other calls with
the exception of emergency calls.
Signing the speciic PEUGEOT
contract means that you will be
located.
• "Operator services" gives access
to the list of services speciic to
your operator (e.g.: customer
service, consumption monitor-
ing, news, stock market, weather,
travel, games, etc) if access is
available.

Emergency call*
In an emergency, press
and hold the "SOS" but-
ton until a signal is heard
and a call validation/de-
letion screen is displayed
(delay of 6 seconds) or
enter 112 directly.
Make an emergency call when you
are involved in a situation which
leads you to fear serious conse-
quences (injuries, ...) for those ex-
posed to them (if you witness or are
involved in an accident resulting in
injuries, an attack, ...).
Before making a call of this kind, the
audio/telephone must detect a cel-
lular network.
If you have not signed the speciic
PEUGEOT contract, the parameters
of the "SOS" button are set so that a
call is made to 112 - unique number
made available by the worldwide
GSM network, reserved for emer-
gency calls.
No security mode is required and,
depending on the network, you do
not need to insert your SIM card or
enter your PIN.
If you have signed the speciic
PEUGEOT contract, your call will be
located and you will be put in contact
with a PEUGEOT emergency repre-
sentative.
For further details, refer to the ge-
neral conditions of your contract.

Main menu
From the general menu, select the
"Directory"
application to access its
main menu and select one of the fol-
lowing functions:
• "Call", to call a number stored in a ile,
• "Activate guidance to", to initiate guidance to a location stored in a
ile,
• "Management of directory iles", to add, delete, modify and consult
directory iles or exchange them
with the SIM card,
• "Directory coniguration", to select the working directory and deine
the directory when the system is
switched on. Creation/Modiication of a ile
To create a ile, from the "Directory"
menu, select the "Management of di-
rectory iles" function, then "Add".
In the ile, select the section to be
illed in, conirm and then enter the
information.
To modify an existing ile, select it by
means of the "Consult or modify the
ile" function of the "Management of
directory iles" menu, then make the
modiications.
When entering the address, the navi-
gation CD ROM must be present to
obtain guidance to this destination.
Description of a directory ile
When a description is associated
with a directory ile, you can record
the description vocally to use it later
for direct access by means of voice
commands (e.g.: "Call" "[Name of
voice description]" or "Guide to"
"[Name of voice description]").
Select "Consult or modify the ile"
from the "Management of directory
iles" menu to access the description
entering and recording screen.
Validate the record button and follow
the instructions.
The "Directory" application
gives access to 400 iles
divided into 4 independent
sub-directories ("User1",
"User2", "User3" and
"User4"). It enables you to
manage these iles, make calls using
the SIM card and activate guidance.

SATELLITE NAVIGATION
SYSTEM
Introduction
The satellite navigation system
guides you, by means of vocal and
visual instructions, to your chosen
destination.
The heart of the system lies in the
use of a map data base and of the
GPS system. With this system you
can ix the position of your vehicle by
means of a satellite network.
The system uses the following elements:
- the CD-Rom drive,
- the coniguration CD-Rom,
- the navigation CD-Rom,
- the last voice message recall
control,
- the control keypad,
- the monochrome screen or the colour screen.
Certain functions or services de-
scribed may vary depending on the
version of CD-Rom or the country
where the vehicle is sold.
1. Ejection button on CD-Rom.
2. CD-Rom housing.
The navigation CD ROM contains all
the map data.
It must be inserted in the drive, printed
face upwards.
Use only CD-Roms approved by
PEUGEOT. Pressing for more than two seconds on
the button at the end of the lights stalk
repeats the last voice information.
For safety reasons, the in-
putting of navigation infor-
mation by the driver must be
carried out when the vehicle
is stationary.
The CD-Rom drive
This is part of the RT3 GPS audio/
telephone.
The last voice message recall
control.
The control panel
This lets you navigate, select, choose
and validate the functions, from the
parameters displayed.

Pressing the dial - navigator:
This allows: -
access
to the list of controls (con-
textual menu) of the permanent
display, if there is no other display
superimposed.
- conirmation of the selected
function or the modiied value.
- selection of a 'setting' or 'list'
type parameter for modiication.
Permanent locating
This function enables you to display
the name of the street along which
the vehicle is travelling when guid-
ance is not active on condition that
the navigation CD ROM is in the
drive.
Press the dial for more than two
seconds to display the name of the
street along which you are travelling.
"C" button:
- Brief press:
deletion of the last
character entered.
- Press for more than two seconds: deletion of the entire line.
"NAV" button:
- Brief press: access to the naviga-
tion - guidance permanent appli-
cation.
Rotation of the dial - navigator:
This allows you to move round the
screen and thus select a function.
It also allows you:
- with a 'setting' type parameter,
after selection, to increase or de-
crease the value,
- with a 'list' type parameter, to
open the list and scroll through
the values,
- with map guidance, to increase
the zoom .
"MENU" button:
- Brief press: access to the
general
menu .
- Press for more than two seconds: access to the help menu.
"ESC" button:
- Brief press: cancellation of the
operation in progress or clearing
of the last superimposed display.
- Press for more than two seconds: clearing of all of the superim-
posed displays and return to the
permanent application.
" 5 " and " 6" buttons:
- Vertical movement in the menus,
screens and on the map on the
DT colour screen.
" 3 " and " 4" buttons:
- Horizontal movement in the
menus, screens and on the map
on the DT colour screen.

plays different information depend-
ing on the manoeuvres to be carried
out. Select the Navigation/
Guidance icon using the
navigator, then validate

tor to access the main

menu.
