Trafic information program (TA)
Press the "TA" button
to switch the function
on or off.
The multifunction dis-
play will show:
- TA if the function is selected, - TA crossed out if the function is
selected but not available.
Any trafic information lash will
be given priority, whatever source
you are listening to (radio, CD, CD
changer or auxiliary equipment).
If you wish to interrupt a message,
press an audio equipment function
button to return to the source which
was in use prior to the interruption.
Note: the trafic information volume
is independent of the normal audio
equipment volume.
You can adjust it using the volume
dial or the steering wheel control.
The setting is stored and will be
used when the next messages are
broadcast.
EON system
This system connects stations which
are part of the same network. It
enables the broadcasting of TA trafic
information by a station that is part
of the same network as the station to
which you are listening.
This service is available when you
have selected the TA trafic informa-
tion program."RADIO" menu
Press the "MENU" button to access
the general menu and select the
"Audio functions" menu then "FM
waveband preferences" or press the
"OK" button in radio mode to select
the following functions:
- Activate/Deactivate frequency fol- lowing (RDS),
- Activate/Deactivate regional mode (REG),
- Activate/Deactivate displaying of the radio text (RDTXT).
Search by type of program (PTY)
This is a search by type of program, if
the coding is activated by the broad-
casting stations.
It allows you to listen to stations
broadcasting a speciic type of pro-
gram (news, culture, sport, rock,
weather, etc.).
Press the "PTY" but-
ton to access this
function.
To search for a type of PTY program: - press the "PTY" button,
- press button 5 or 6
to scroll down the list
of the various types
of programs offered,
then conirm the se-
lection using the "OK"
button.
The list of stations is
available after a period during which
the FM waveband is searched.
- when the list of stations corre- sponding to the type of program is
displayed, press button 5 or 6 to
select a station, then conirm the
selection using the "OK" button.
To switch the PTY function off, select
"Deactivate PTY" from the list of the
various types of program offered.

RDS
Using the RDS (Radio Data
System) function on FM
The RDS allows you to continue lis-
tening to the same station whatever
frequency it is using in the region
you are going through. The display
indicates the name of the station
selected.
However, poor coverage of the net-
work or particular environmental
conditions may interfere with the
transmission.
The radio is continually searching
for the transmitter which is transmit-
ting the same program with the best
reception.
To access the function, press the
"MENU" button, select the "Audio
functions" menu then "FM waveband
preferences" or press the "OK" but-
ton in radio mode.
The "RADIO" contextual menu ap-
pears.
Select "Activate frequency following
(RDS)" or "Deactivate frequency
following (RDS)" depending on the
status of the function on the multi-
function display.
The multifunction display will show:
- RDS if the function is selected,
- RDS crossed out if the function is
selected but not available. Regional following mode (REG)
When they are part of a network,
certain stations broadcast regional
programs in the various areas which
they serve. The regional following
mode enables you to continue listen-
ing to the same program.
To access the function, press the
"MENU" button, select the "Audio
functions" menu then "FM waveband
preferences" or press the "OK" but-
ton in radio mode.
The "RADIO" contextual menu appears.
Select "Activate regional mode
(REG)" or "Deactivate regional mode
(REG)" depending on the status
of the function on the multifunction
display.
The multifunction display will show:
- REG if the function is selected,
- REG crossed out if the function is
selected but not available.

COMPACT DISC
The CD player, incorporated in your
audio equipment, is compatible with
displaying of the CD Text
 mode.
CDs which do not use this mode
will display the number of each track
instead of the name of the artist and
the title of the song. This function is
not available via the CD changer. Selecting a track

Press button 7 to return to the start
of the current track or to select the
previous track.
You can also select a track directly
via the list of tracks on the CD:
- press the "LIST" button to display the list,
- press button 5 or 6 to select the
track,
- press the "OK" button to play the track.
Accelerated play
Keep button 8 or 7 pressed for
forwards or backwards accelerated
play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as
the button is released.
The use of copied compact
discs may cause malfunctions.
Insert circular compact discs
only.
"CD" menu
Press the "MENU" button to access
the general menu and select the
"Audio functions" menu then "Audio
CD preferences" or press the "OK"
button in CD mode to select the fol-
lowing functions:
- Activate/Deactivate playing of the
track intros (INTRO),
- Activate/Deactivate random playing of the tracks (RDM).
A function selected from the "CD"
menu remains active when the CD
changer mode is selected.
Selecting CD mode
After insertion of a disc, printed face
upwards, the CD player starts auto-
matically.
If a disc is already inserted, press
the "SOURCE" button to select the
CD player.
Ejection of a disc Press the button to
eject the disc from the
player.

CD CHANGER
Selecting CD changer mode
Press the "SOURCE" button several
times.
To access the CD changer, you
must insert at least one CD in the
changer.
Selecting a disc
Press one of the buttons "1" to "6" on
the radio to select the corresponding
disc.
Buttons
5 and 6 permit the selec-
tion of the previous/next disc in the
changer.
Each time a disc is selected, a win-
dow appears as a superimposed dis-
play to indicate the presence of discs
in the changer cartridge:
- "Disc" if a CD is present,
- "Cannot be played" if the CD is faulty or upside down,
- Blank line if there is no CD present.
The CD Text  is not avail-
able when playing a CD via
the changer. "CHANGER" menu
Press the "MENU" button to access
the general menu and select the "Au-
dio functions" menu then "Audio CD
preferences" or press the "OK" but-
ton in CD changer mode to select the
following functions:
- Activate/Deactivate playing of the
track intros (INTRO),
- Activate/Deactivate CD changer repeat (RPT),
- Activate/Deactivate random play- ing of the tracks (RDM).
A function selected in the "changer"
menu remains active when the CD
mode is selected.

MONOCHROME DISPLAY C
Displays the following information:
- the time,
- the date,
- the exterior temperature (the
value displayed lashes if there is
a risk of ice),
- the accesses check,
- the vehicle function status mes- sages, displayed temporarily,
- the warning displays,
- the RD4 audio equipment displays,
- the trip computer displays,
- the vehicle parameters,
- the air conditioning displays,
- the language selection.
Management of the displays
The "AUDIO" , "TRIP" and "CLIM"
buttons on the RD4 audio equipment
keypad permit displaying in the main
window (on the right).
Example: TRIP The general menu Deine the vehicle parameters
Permits the activation or deactiva-
tion of certain driving and comfort
functions.
Example: Automatic switching on of
the lights.

Display coniguration
- Setting the date and time. Your
operational area is displayed. Use
the navigator to move from one
selection to another.
Your new parameters are con- irmed one by one, by pressing
the navigator button. All of the pa-
rameters are recorded if you click
on OK, shown on the display.
The ESCape button on the control panel gives you the option of not
conirming your changes.
- Brightness, to be set in accord- ance with a scale between Moon
(-) and Sun (+).
- Selection of the units of measure- ment.
Selection of the language
German, Spanish, French, English,
Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Brazilian
Portuguese. Changing the date and time
From the menu, shown on the
display, select the
"Personalisation-
Coniguration" icon using the navi-
gator, then conirm. Set the parameters one by one, us-
ing the navigator, then conirm using
"OK"
.
From the list displayed, select "Dis-
play coniguration" , then conirm.
From the list displayed, select "Date
and time setting" , then conirm.

Your 407 is itted with a JBL Hi-Fi
system, designed speciically for the
passenger compartment.
At the heart of the system, a 240 watt
multifunction ampliier (1) independ-
ently controls 10 speakers and an
integral subwoofer.
This system provides optimum repro-
duction and distribution of the sound
in the vehicle, both in the front and
the rear.
The speakers are situated:
- in the fascia: two Micro Tweet-
ers (2) set in two Medium-range
speakers (3) for frontal reproduc-
tion of the sound. - in the front doors: two Woofers (4)

for reproduction of the bass (low
frequencies) in the front.
- in the rear doors: two Tweeters (5) and two Woofers (6) providing a
balance of frequencies (from bass
to treble) in the rear.
- in the right boot trim: a Subwoofer (7) for reproduction of the ultra-bass
(very low frequencies) throughout
the whole of the passenger com-
partment.
You will appreciate the performance
of the JBL system, noticing that the
sound ills the whole of the vehicle
perfectly. Adjusting in CD or Radio mode
The basic functions remain those of
the audio set.
There is no need for any further ad-
justment.
However, in order to take full ad-
vantage of your JBL audio system,
you are advised to set the AUDIO
functions (BASS, TREB, FAD, BAL)
to position "0" (zero), the Loudness
(LOUD) to the "ON" position for CD
mode and to the "OFF" position for
radio mode.

Navigator
Located on the RT3 GPS audio/
telephone control keypad, this per-
mits selection and conirmation of the
functions, controls and parameters
displayed.
It incorporates:
- the up 5, down 6, left 3, right 4
movement arrows which enable
you to move the cursor on the
screen,
- the central button which enables you to move the cursor on the
screen and conirm.
Note: all selections can be can-
celled by pressing the external
"ESC" (escape) button before they
are conirmed.
