ALARM When the alarm is triggered, the siren
sounds and the direction indicator lights
fl ash for approximately thirty seconds.
After triggering, the alarm remains set,
ten times in succession.
On the eleventh time it will become
inactive again, until the next cycle of
disarming then setting of the alarm.

Warning: if button A indicator light
fl ashes rapidly, the alarm has been
triggered while you were away from
your vehicle.

Note: if the alarm has been triggered
in your absence, this fl ashing stops
when the ignition is switched on. Remote control failure, alarm
set

 Unlock the doors with the key and
open the door. The alarm is triggered.

 Switch on the ignition. The alarm is
disarmed.
* According to country.
Setting the alarm

 Switch off the ignition and get out
of the vehicle.

 Set the alarm, by locking or dea-
dlocking using the remote control
(button A indicator light fl ashes
once per second).
If you wish to lock or deadlock your ve-
hicle without setting the alarm, lock it
(one turn of the key) or deadlock it (a
second turn within fi ve seconds maxi-
mum) using the lock. Disarming
Unlock the vehicle with the remote
control key.
The alarm is disarmed, indicator light
A
goes out when the ignition is switched on
(unless the alarm has been triggered).
To set the alarm with exterior
protection only
If, while you are away from the vehicle,
you wish to leave a window partially
open or a pet inside the vehicle, you
should choose exterior protection only.

 Switch off the ignition,

 In the next ten seconds, press
button A until the indicator light is
on continuously,

 Get out of the vehicle,

 Set the alarm by locking or dea-
dlocking using the remote control
(button A indicator light fl ashes
once a second). Incorrect operation
When the ignition is switched on, if
button
A lights for ten seconds, there
is a fault in the siren connection.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Automatic activation *
The alarm is activated automatically
two minutes after the last closure of a
door or the boot.
In order to avoid accidental triggering
of the alarm when a door or the boot
is opened, it is essential to press the
unlocking button on the remote control
again. When the alarm is set, if a door,
the tailgate or the bonnet is not
closed correctly, the siren is
triggered briefl y. If the vehicle is
closed correctly within the next 45 se-
conds, the alarm is set. In all cases, the
alarm is set after 45 seconds.
This provides two types of surveillance:
-
exterior protection
: it sounds if a door,
the boot or the bonnet is opened.

- interior protection
: it sounds if
the volume inside the passenger
compartment changes (breaking
of a window or a movement inside
the vehicle).

on in certain driving conditions
and depending on the engine,
the distance which can be tra-
velled with the fuel remaining may be
less than 30 miles (50 kilometres).

Note: should you run out of fuel, you
must add at least 6 litres. Operating fault
A fuel gauge fault is indicated by the
fuel level indicator needle returning to
zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

SEAT BELTS
Detection of fastening of the front
seat belts

When the ignition is switched on ,
if a front passenger has not fastened
his seat belt and if the vehicle speed
is below 13 mph (20 km/h) , you are
warned by lighting of the seat belt
warning light .
The warning light switches off when the
seat belt(s) concerned is(are) fastened.
If the vehicle speed is above 13 mph
(20 km/h) , you are warned by fl ash-
ing of the seat belt warning light , an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display locating the un-
fastened seat belt(s).
Front seat belts with
pre-tensioner and force
limiter
In the event of a serious front
impact, the pre-tensioning system in-
stantly tightens the seat belts fi rmly
against the bodies of the occupants.
The pre-tensioning seat belts are
armed when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure
of the seat belt against the chest of
the occupant, so increasing his pro-
tection.
Rear seat belts
The rear seats are all fi tted with a
three-point inertia reel seat belt.
The rear side seat belts have a force
limiter and may be fi tted with a pre-
tensioning inertia reel.

To fasten the seat belts

 Pull the strap, then insert the
tongue into the buckle.

 Check that the seat belt is secured
correctly by pulling the strap.

To unfasten the seat belts

Press the red button on the buckle. Before folding the seat back, pull the
strap and insert the seat belt tongue
into the buckle. This precaution will
ensure that each seat belt is in place
when the rear seats are lifted again.

Note: a bag or an animal
placed on the front passenger
seat may trigger the lighting of
the warning light.
The audible signal ceases and the
warning light switches off when the
seat belt concerned is fastened.
After two minutes without any action
on the seat belts, the fl ashing warning
light remains on permanently and the
audible signal ceases. All of the warn-
ings cease when a door is opened or
when the engine is switched off.
Front seat belt height adjustment:

 To lower the attachment point,
squeeze control 1 and slide it
downwards.

 To raise the attachment point, slide
control 1 upwards.

Fitting a wheel

 Position the wheel.

 Tighten the bolts by hand.

 Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace.

 Fold the jack 2 and remove it.

 Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .

 For vehicles with steel wheels, re-
fi t the wheel trim starting by plac-
ing its notch facing the valve and
press with the palm of the hand.

 For vehicles with alloy wheels, refi t
the covers.

 Put the tool holder back in position.
This helps to keep the boot fl oor in
its correct position, to prevent any
deformation of the fl oor when load-
ed.

 Tighten the spare wheel securing
strap to prevent noise and for your
safety in the event of impact. Punctured tyre warning
light
Information on the instrument
panel:

Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the handbrake applied,
- with fi rst or reverse gear engaged (position P for the automatic gear-
box),
- never go underneath a vehicle which is supported only by a jack. Tyre under-infl ation detection
system warning light
These original wheels are fi tted with a
pressure sensor (see paragraph "Tyre
under-infl ation detection"). The alarm
which detects the removal or absence
of a wheel fi tted with the indicator
sensor signals the anomaly. Have
the wheel repaired and checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
After changing the wheel:
- have the tightening of the bolts and
the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.
- have the punctured wheel repaired and refi t it to the vehicle as soon as
possible.
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Recommendations when using the
temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim to that
of the standard wheel.
After use, replace it as soon as pos-
sible.
Follow the recommendations below to
avoid any alteration in vehicle handling:
-
do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h) ,
- do not fi t a wheel trim,
- drive carefully,
- check the infl ation pressure indi-
cated on the label. * According to version and country.

Front lights
In the engine compartment, remove
the cover secured by one or two but-
terfl y screws, a plastic retainer clip and
two quarter turn screws.

1 - Dipped beam headlamps:
H1 - 55 W or D2S - 35 W xenon
bulb.
Xenon bulbs must be replaced by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Amber coloured bulbs (direc-
tion indicators and side re-
peaters) must be replaced
with bulbs of identical specifi -
cation and colour.

5 - Front fog lamps:
H11 - 55 W.
Turn the wheels to full lock.
Access to the bulb is via the fl ap in the
front mud fl ap.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
The headlamps are fi tted with polycar-
bonate glass with a protective coating.
Do not clean them with a dry or abra-
sive cloth, nor with a detergent or sol-
vent product.
Ensure that the liquid used to fi ll the
wash-wipe and headlamp wash reser-
voir is of good quality.

High pressure washing
When using a high pressure
washer on stubborn dirt, do
not persist on the headlamps,
the lights and their periphery
to avoid damaging their coating and
their seal.
In certain climatic conditions (low tem-
perature, humidity), condensation on
the inside surface of the headlamp glass
is normal; it disappears a few minutes
after the lights are switched on.
