FILLING WITH FUEL The ignition must be switched
off and the vehicle must be un-
locked when fi lling with fuel.
When this warning light comes
on in certain driving conditions
and depending on the engine,
the distance which can be tra-
velled with the fuel remaining may be
less than 30 miles (50 kilometres).

Note: should you run out of fuel, you
must add at least 6 litres. Operating fault
A fuel gauge fault is indicated by the
fuel level indicator needle returning to
zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Fuel warning

 Open the fuel fi ller fl ap.

 Turn the cap to the left.

 Remove the cap and hang the end
on the hook located on the inside
of the fl ap.
A label affi xed to the inside of the fuel
fi ller fl ap indicates which type of fuel
to use.
When you fi ll your tank, do not continue
after the third cut-off of the pump. This
could cause your vehicle to malfunction.
The capacity of the tank is approxima-
tely 67 litres.

 After fi lling the tank, screw on the
cap and close the fuel fi ller fl ap.

LIGHTS
Lights on
With the ignition off, on opening the
driver’s door a buzzer sounds to indi-
cate that you have left your lights on
although you are leaving the vehicle.

 Switch the lights off. Direction indicators
(fl ashers)
Lights off
Side lights Dipped/main beam
headlamps
Dipped/main beam change

 Pull the stalk fully towards you. Front and rear fog lamps (ring B)

 Turn ring B forwards to switch on
and rearwards to switch off. The
status is confi rmed by the light on
the instrument panel.
Front fog lamps (one press)
Left: downwards. The
direction arrow indica-
tor light fl ashes on the
instrument panel.

Right: upwards. The
direction arrow indica-
tor light fl ashes on the
instrument panel.

Note: If you forget to return
the direction indicator to its
normal position, the volume
of the audible signal will in-
crease, if you are driving at a speed
greater than 40 mph (60 km/h) or if
the control is maintained for more than
20 seconds.
These operate with the side lights and
the dipped or main beam headlamps.
Rear fog lamps (two presses)
These operate when the front fog
lamps are already on.
Front and rear lights (ring A)

 Turn ring A to the position required.

Automatic switching on of the lights
The dipped beam headlamps switch
on automatically if the light is poor and
when the windscreen wipers operate
continuously. They switch off when
the light is bright enough or the winds-
creen wipers stop.
Warning: in foggy weather or in snow,
the brightness sensor can detect suffi -
cient light. The lights will not come on
automatically.
If necessary, you must switch the dip-
ped headlamps on manually. Activation Manual "Follow-me-home" lighting
When you leave your vehicle, the side
lights and dipped headlamps can be
left on for a few seconds.
When the function is activat-
ed, the indicator light comes
on on the 5-dial instrument
panel display.

To disarm or activate the func-
tion, pass via the "Personali-
sation-confi guration" menu
on your multifunction display.
For safety reasons, activation/
deactivation of the "Automatic
switching on of the lights" func-
tion via the menu must be car-
ried out when stationary.
To deactivate or activate
the "Automatic follow-me-
home lighting" function,
pass via the "Person-
alisation-configuration"
menu on your multifunction
screen.
The duration of timing can
be set via the "Personalisa-
tion-confi guration" menu of
your multifunction display.
Automatic "Follow-me-home"
lighting
When you leave your vehicle
with the
automatic switching on of the lights
activated, the side lights and dipped
headlamps remain on for the duration
selected after the ignition is switched
off.
Disarming
When the function is disarmed,
the indicator light comes on
on the 5-dial instrument panel
display.
Do not cover the sunshine/
brightness sensor, located in
the centre of the windscreen.
It is used to regulate the air
conditioning and for the automatic
switching on of the lights.

If the sunshine/brightness sensor
does not function correctly, the side
lights and dipped headlamps come on.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Activation:

 switch off the engine,

 "fl ash" the headlamps,

 get out of the vehicle and lock it.

MANUAL ADJUSTMENT OF THE HEADLAMPS AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT

In cases of malfunction , the
warning light comes on on the
instrument panel display, ac-
companied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction dis-
play. The system places your headlamps
to the low position.
Do not touch the xenon bulbs.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Daytime lights *
On vehicles which are equipped with
daytime lights, the dipped headlamps
come on when the vehicle is started.
This indicator light comes on on
the instrument panel screen.
The instruments and controls
(instrument panel, multifunc-
tion display, air conditioning
control panel, ...) are only lit
on switching to the automatic switch-
ing on of the lights mode or when the
lights are switched on manually.
* According to country. For vehicles fi tted with halogen bulbs,
depending on the load in your vehicle,
adjusting the beam of your headlamps
is recommended.

0. 1 or 2 people in the front seats.

Initial setting is position 0. On vehicles with xenon bulbs:
when
stationary with the ignition on , the
system automatically corrects the
height of the beam, whatever the load
of the vehicle. The driver is then as-
sured of having optimum lighting and
not causing a nuisance to other road
users.

WINDSCREEN WIPER STALK
Front windscreen wiper with

It is accompanied by a message on
the multifunction display.
In the AUTO position, the windscreen

adapt their speed to the intensity of
the rainfall.

The windscreen wiping
must be reactivated if the
ignition has been switched off
for more than one minute. Disarming
Manual operation of the wiper stalk
interrupts the
AUTO position, the de-
activation indicator light comes on on
the 5-dial instrument panel display, ac-
companied by a message on the mul-
tifunction display.

In the event of malfunction , the
windscreen wipers will operate in in-
termittent mode.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.

2 Fast wipe
(heavy rain).

1 Normal wipe
(moderate rain).

l Intermittent wipe.

0 Off.

 Single wipe
(press downwards).
In the Intermittent position, the wiping
speed is in proportion to the vehicle
speed.
2 Fast wipe
(heavy rain).

1 Normal wipe
(moderate rain).

AUTO Automatic wipe.

0 Off.

 Single wipe
(press downwards).
In the AUTO position, no action on
your part is necessary.

REAR WIPER CONTROL(407 SW) Rear wash-wipe
Do not cover the rain sensor
located on the windscreen be-
hind the interior mirror.
When using an automatic car wash to
wash your vehicle, switch off the igni-
tion or check that the wiper stalk is not
in the automatic position.
In winter, it is advisable to wait for the
windscreen to completely clear of ice
before operating the automatic wipe.
Automatic rear wiper
If the windscreen wipers control is ac-
tivated and you engage reverse gear,
the rear wiper operates in intermittent
mode.
Note: if a bicycle carrier is
used, deactivate this function
by going to the "personalisa-
tion - confi guration" menu on
the multifunction display or install a
special bicycle carrier approved by
PEUGEOT .
Note: the rear wiper and rear
wash-wipe functions are de-
activated automatically when
the rear screen is opened.
Turn the ring to the fi rst notch for inter-
mittent wiping.

The control must be reactivated if
the ignition has been switched off.
To do this, move the control to any
position then return it to the required
position. Turn the ring beyond the fi rst notch,
the wash-wipe then the wiper operate
for a set period of time.

Windscreen and headlamp wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash then
the windscreen wipers operate for a
fi xed period.
The headlamp wash is also activated,

if the headlamps are on .
When the minimum level of
the reservoir is reached, this
warning light comes on, ac-
companied by an audible
signal and a message on the
multi-function display.
Next time you stop, fi ll the screen-
wash/headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning light comes on each time
the stalk is operated, until the reser-
voir is fi lled. FRONT COURTESY LIGHT The courtesy light can be deactivated
by pressing switch 1 with the door open.
The map reading lights are not affected
by this and may be switched on.

 To re-activate the lights, press the
switch, with the door open.
Screenwash/headlamp wash low

With the key in the ignition on or start-
ing position, operate the relevant
switch.
The front courtesy light comes on
when the ignition key is removed, on
unlocking the vehicle or on opening
one of the doors.
It gradually goes off after the ignition
has been switched on or when the ve-
hicle is locked.

 Pressing switch 1 turns on the front
courtesy light.
