For even air distribution, take care
not to obstruct the exterior air intake
grille located at the bottom of the
windscreen, the vents, the air out-
lets under the front seats and the air
extractor located behind the laps in
the boot.
In certain cases of particularly ardu-
ous use (towing the maximum load
on a steep gradient in hot weather),
cutting off the air conditioning per-
mits recovery of the engine power
and therefore improvement of the
towing capacity.
Close the windows to beneit from
the full effectiveness of the air con-
ditioning.
Ensure that the passenger compart-
ment ilter is in good condition. Have
the ilter elements replaced periodi-
cally. If you drive in a dusty environ-
ment, replace it twice as often.
The air conditioning system does not
contain chlorine and is not harmful to
the ozone layer.
Operate the air conditioning system
for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a
month, to keep it in perfect working
order.
The water formed by the air condi-
tioning condensation is discharged
via an opening provided for this pur-
pose. Therefore, a puddle of water
may form underneath the vehicle
when stationary.
If the system does not produce cold
air, do not use it and contact your
PEUGEOT dealer. 1.

THE AIR CONDITIONING
Air diffuser
The air diffuser grille, located at
the top of the centre console, sig-
niicantly improves distribution and
lows and prevents air currents, while
maintaining an optimum temperature
inside the passenger compartment.
Advice on operation
To obtain even ventilation,
avoid closing the air diffuser
grille 10.
In hot weather, in order to obtain in-
tense ventilation, you can close the
air diffuser grille 10 and use vents 1
and 6 only.
If, when the vehicle has been parked
in the sun for a long time, the interior
temperature remains very high, do
not hesitate to ventilate the passen-
ger compartment for a few minutes.
Use of the automatic regulation of
the air conditioning is recommended.
It permits automatic and optimised
control of all of the following functions:
air low, passenger compartment
temperature and air distribution, by
means of various sensors (exterior
temperature, interior temperature,
sunshine), so preventing the need
for you to change your reference set-
tings other than the value displayed.
In addition, a humidity sensor antici-
pates the formation of condensation
in the vehicle during its use.
Do not cover the temperature and
humidity sensor
2 and the sunshine
sensor 9.
They are required for regulation of
the air conditioning.

AUTOMATIC AIR
CONDITIONING (DUAL ZONE)
Dual zone:
this is the differentiated
regulation of the temperature and air
distribution on the driver's side and
the front passenger side.
The driver and his front passenger
can each adjust the temperature and
the distribution of the air to suit their
requirements.
The symbols and messages associat-
ed with the automatic air conditioning
controls appear on the multifunction
display.
Control by the Auto programmeAutomatic
programme - driver

comfort (1)
Press the "AUTO" button. The indi-
cator light comes on. The "AUTO"
symbol is displayed on the multifunc-
tion display.
Depending on the level of comfort
selected, the system controls the air
distribution, low, temperature and
intake of air in order to guarantee
comfort and an adequate circulation
of air in the passenger compartment.
You do not have to make any adjust-
ments.
When the engine is cold, to
prevent too great a distribu-
tion of cold air, the ventilation
will only reach its optimum
level progressively.

ver's side 2 or passenger side 3.
The value indicated on the display
corresponds to a level of comfort
and not to a temperature in degrees
Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on
the choice of coniguration validated
on the display.
A setting around the value 21 makes
it possible to obtain optimum comfort.
However, depending on your require-
ments, a setting between 18 and 24
is usual. Blower (4)
Air low
F Turn dial 4 to the
right to increase the
air low or to the left

sult in discomfort (temperature, hu-
midity, odour, condensation) and is
not advantageous (comfort).
To return to automatic mode, press
the "AUTO" button.
On entering the vehicle, the
interior temperature may be
much colder (or warmer)
than is comfortable. There is
no need to change the tem-
perature displayed in order to obtain
