Make a careful note of the
number on each key. The
key number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, your PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote cont-
rol is a sensitive system; do not
operate it while it is in your pocket
as there is a possibility that it may
unlock your vehicle, without you
being aware of it.
The remote control does not ope-
rate when the key is in the ignition,
even when the ignition is switched
off, except for reprogramming.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.
Driving with the doors locked may
make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
services more dificult in an emer-
gency.
As a safety precaution (with child-
ren on board), remove the ignition
key when you leave the vehicle,
even for a short time.
Do not repeatedly press the but-
ton of your remote control out of
range and out of sight of your ve-
hicle. You run the risk of stopping
it from working and the remote
control would have to be repro-

When undertaking a long trip or jour-
ney, however, it is advisable to take
it with you along with your personal
papers.

Changing the remote control
batteryREPROGRAMMING THE
REMOTE CONTROL
F
Switch off the ignition.
F Switch the ignition on again.
F Press the remote control locking
button immediately for a few sec-
onds.
F Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock.
The remote control is now working
again.
ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
a few moments after the ignition has
been switched off and therefore pre-
vents starting of the vehicle by any-
one who does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
is recognised and starting is pos-
sible.
Do not discard the batteries,
they contain metals which
are harmful to the environ-
ment.
Take them to an approved
collection point. If the system does not
function correctly,
the
warning light comes on on
the instrument panel dis-
play, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
In this case, your vehicle will not
start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
The information "battery lat" is given
by displaying of the service warning
light, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multi-
function display.
To replace the battery (ref.: CR1620/
3 volts), unclip the casing using a
coin at the notch.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
re-programme the remote control.

THE ALARM
This provides two types of surveillance:
-
exterior protection: it sounds if
a door, the boot or the bonnet is
opened.
- interior protection: it sounds if
the volume inside the passenger
compartment changes (breaking of
a window or a movement inside the
vehicle). When the alarm is triggered, the
siren sounds and the direction indi-
cator lights lash for approximately
thirty seconds.
After triggering, the alarm remains
set, ten times in succession.
On the eleventh time it will become
inactive again, until the next cycle of
disarming then setting of the alarm.
Warning:
if button A indicator light
lashes rapidly, the alarm has been
triggered while you were away from
your vehicle.
Incorrect operation
When the ignition is switched on, if
button A lights for ten seconds, there
is a fault in the siren connection.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Remote control failure, alarm
set
F Unlock the doors with the key and
open the door. The alarm is trig-
gered.
F Switch on the ignition. The alarm
is disarmed.
* According to country.
Setting the alarm
F Switch off the ignition and get out
of the vehicle.
F Set the alarm, by locking or dead-
locking using the remote control
(button A indicator light lashes
once per second).
If you wish to lock or deadlock your
vehicle without setting the alarm,
lock it (one turn of the key) or dead-
lock it (a second turn within ive sec-
onds maximum) using the lock.
Automatic activation*
The alarm is activated automatically
two minutes after the last closure of a
door or the boot.
In order to avoid accidental triggering
of the alarm when a door or the boot
is opened, it is essential to press the
unlocking button on the remote con-
trol again.
Before setting the alarm, en-
sure that all of the accesses
(doors, bonnet, boot) are
closed correctly.
Disarming
Unlock the vehicle with the remote
control key.
The alarm is disarmed, indicator
light A goes out when the ignition is
switched on.
To set the alarm with exterior
protection only
If, while you are away from the ve-
hicle, you wish to leave a window
partially open or a pet inside the
vehicle, you should choose exterior
protection only.
F Switch off the ignition,
F In the next ten seconds, press
button A until the indicator light is
on continuously,
F Get out of the vehicle,
F Set the alarm by locking or dead-
locking using the remote control
(button A indicator light lashes
once a second).

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric
window switch.
2 - Passenger's electric
window switch. Automatic operation:
To open or close the window, press
or pull the switch fully: the window
opens or closes completely when
the switch is released. Pressing the
switch again stops the movement of
the window.
The electric window switches remain
operational for approximately one
minute after the key has been re-
moved from the ignition.
Once this time has elapsed, the
electric windows will not operate. To
reactivate them, switch the ignition
on again.
Safety auto-reverse
When the window rises and meets
an obstacle, it stops and immediately
partially lowers again.
In the event of unwanted opening
of the window on closing, press
the switch until the window opens
completely, then pull the switch im-
mediately until the window closes.
Continue to hold the switch for ap-
proximately one second after the
window has closed.
The safety auto-reverse function is
not active during this operation.
REINITIALISATION OF THE
WINDOWS
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, the safety auto-reverse function
must be reinitialised: the safety auto-
reverse function is not active during
these operations.
- lower the window completely, then
raise it, it will rise in steps of a few
centimetres each time the switch is
pressed. Repeat the operation until
the window closes completely,
- continue to press the switch for at least one second after reaching
this position, window closed.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short
time.
In the event of contact during opera-
tion of the windows, you must reverse
the movement of the window. To do
this, press the switch concerned.
When the driver operates the pas-
senger electric window switch, he
must ensure that no one is prevent-
ing correct closing of the window.
The driver must ensure that the pas-
sengers use the electric windows
correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the windows.
Manual operation:
To open or close the window, press
or pull the switch gently. The win-
dow stops as soon as the switch is
released.

DOORS
Opening the doors from
outside
Opening the doors from
inside
Locking/unlocking from the
inside
F
Press the button.
This allows the doors and the boot to
be locked or unlocked.
To make it easier to open the door,
the window lowers automatically by
a few centimetres.
It rises and adjusts automatically on
closing to guarantee perfect sealing.
Before carrying out any work
which requires disconnec-
tion of the battery, lower the
windows to permit opening
and closing of the doors.
In the event of a battery cut-off or if
the automatic lowering fails (window
iced up for example), it is still pos-
sible to open the doors. However, it
is imperative that the doors are not
slammed when closed.
The safety auto-reverse is inopera-
tive during the automatic raising of
the windows.
Contact your PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
When using a high pressure washer
on your vehicle, it is recommended
that the end of the gun is kept at least
50 cm away from the windows and
door seals. If the vehicle has been locked
or deadlocked using the key
or the remote control, the
button is inoperative.
In this case, use the key or the re-
mote control to unlock.
Unlocking from the doors
You can unlock from the inside by
operating a door opening control.
If the "Access to the vehicle" function
is activated via the multifunction dis-
play menu, opening:
- the driver's door, unlocks the door
concerned.
- the passenger door, unlocks the
doors and the boot.

MANUAL LOCKING
(EMERGENCY MODE)
Driver's door
Insert the key in the lock to lock or
unlock the door.
Passenger door
To lock, insert the key in the control
located on the edge of the door then
push to the left.
Automatic central locking of the
doors
The doors and boot can lock auto-
matically while driving (speed above
6 mph [10 km/h]).
You can activate or deactivate this
function by pressing and holding the
button.
BOOT
To open the boot, press the push but-
ton and raise the tailgate. Tailgate release
This enables the tailgate to be un-
locked in the event of a central lock-
ing fault.
- Fold back the rear seats to gain
access to the lock from inside the
boot,
- Insert a small screwdriver into hole A
of the lock to unlock the tailgate.
Note:
driving with the doors
locked may make access to
the passenger compartment
by the emergency services
more dificult in an emergency.
If the permanent locking
of the boot is activated,
opening is only possible by
pressing the remote control
button.

SUNROOF
To partially open the roof:
press
and hold part A of the switch.
To open the roof completely: press
part A of the switch briely.
To close it completely: press part B
of the switch briely, then keep it
pressed.
Safety auto-reverse
When the sunroof is sliding closed
and meets an obstacle, it stops then
partially opens again. Pressing the locking button
on the remote control key for
more than 2 seconds places
the sunroof in the partially
open position, if it is open.
To close the sunroof completely,
press control B before getting out of
the vehicle.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short
time.
Always ensure that the sunroof is
closed correctly before leaving the
vehicle.
In the event of contact during opera-
tion of the roof, you must reverse the
movement of the roof. To do this,
press the switch concerned.
When the driver operates the roof
switch, he must ensure that no one
is preventing correct closing of the
roof.
The driver must ensure that the pas-
sengers use the sunroof correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the roof.
Notes:

In the event of unwanted opening of
the roof on closing (for example, in
the presence of ice), if the sunroof
does not close, press section A of
the control until the roof is fully open,
then close the roof.
Continue to press the control for ap-
proximately one second after clos-
ing. Following reconnection of the
battery, in the event of a malfunction,
release the control and press it again
until the roof is fully closed. Continue
to press the control for approximately
ive seconds after closing.
The safety auto-reverse function
is not active during these opera-
tions. Shutter
The sunroof shutter is manual.
To open it, lift the handle and slide it
rearwards.
To close it, slide it forwards until the
handle locks.
Do not open the sunroof immedia-
tely after a shower or immediately
after washing the car.

FILLING WITH FUEL
The fuel iller lap is electric, you can
only
open it by pressing button A.
Button A is deactivated
automatically from 6 mph
(10 km/h). When illing with fuel, the
engine must be switched
off with the ignition off:
Operating fault
A fuel gauge fault is indicated by the
fuel level indicator needle returning
to zero.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Fuel warning
F Turn the cap to the left.
F Remove the cap and hang the
end on the hook located on the
inside of the lap.
A label afixed to the inside of the fuel
iller lap indicates which type of fuel
to use.
When you ill your tank, do not con-
tinue after the third cut-off of the
pump. This could cause your vehicle
to malfunction.
The capacity of the tank is approx-
imately 67 litres.
F After illing the tank, screw on the
cap and close the fuel iller lap.
Ensure that the fuel iller lap is
closed correctly. When this warning light
comes on in certain driving
conditions and depending
on the engine, the distance
which can be travelled with
the fuel remaining may be
less than 30 miles (50 kilometres).
Note: should you run out of fuel, you
must add at least 6 litres.
