In foggy weather, the bright-
ness sensor can detect suffi -
cient light. As a consequence,
the lights will not come on au-
tomatically.
This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
If the brightness sensor does not
function correctly, if the system is
activated, the dipped headlamps and
the side lights come on.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
Daytime lights *
On vehicles which are equipped with
daytime lights, the dipped headlamps
come on when the vehicle is started.
The instruments and controls
(instrument panel, multifunc-
tion display, air conditioning
control panel, ...) are only lit
on switching to the automatic switch-
ing on of the lights mode or when the
lights are switched on manually. This warning light comes on
on the instrument panel.
* According to country.
This function is available di-
rectly at the lights stalk on
certain versions depending on
the type of lights stalk.
The side lights and dipped beam head-
lamps switch on automatically if the light
is poor, or during operation of the wind-
screen wipers. They switch off as soon
as the light becomes bright enough or
the windscreen wipers stop.

AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT

When stationary and when the vehi-
cle is moving, the system automatically
corrects the height of the beam, what-
ever the load of the vehicle. The driver
is then assured of having optimum light-
ing and not causing a nuisance to other
road users.
DIRECTIONAL HEADLAMPS
Activation/Deactivation
When the dipped or main beam head-
lamps are on, this function enables the
light beam to follow the direction of the
road.
The quality of your lighting when turning
is improved considerably.

In cases of malfunction,
the warning light comes on
on the instrument panel dis-
play, accompanied by an au-
dible signal and a message
on the multifunction display. The sys-
tem places your headlamps to the low
position.
Do not touch the xenon bulbs.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Function activated
Function deactivated To deactivate or acti-
vate the function, go to
the
"Personalisation-
Confi guration" menu on
your multifunction display.
When the engine is switched on, the
status of activation/deactivation of this
function selected when the engine was
switched off is retained.
By default, this function is activated.

Note: when stationary or dri-
ving at very low speed, or in
reverse gear, this function is
inactive.

In the event of a malfunc-
tion, this warning light fl ash-
es on the instrument panel.
On vehicles fi tted with daytime
lights, the function is only acti-
vated if the lights stalk is in the
dipped/main beam headlamps
position.
On starting, with the engine
running, the headlamps ini-
tialise automatically and per-
form a vertical sweep.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Maintenance position
This position enables the wiper blades
to be removed.
In the minute following switching off of
the ignition, any action on the wipers
stalk positions the wipers at the top
of the windscreen (parking in winter,
cleaning, replacement of the blades).
To reposition the wipers after this has
been done, switch on the ignition and
operate the stalk. Windscreen and headlamp wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash then
the windscreen wipers operate for a
fi xed period.
The headlamp wash is also activated,

if the headlamps are on .
Screenwash/headlamp wash low
When the minimum level of
the reservoir is reached, this
warning light comes on, ac-
companied by an audible
signal and a message on the
multi-function display.
Next time you stop, fi ll the screen-
wash/headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning light comes on each time
the stalk is operated, until the reser-

Brake pad wear depends
on the style of driving, in
parti cular for vehicles which
are used in town, over short
distances.
Brake pads
It may be necessary to check
the thickness of the pads,
even between services. Where the handbrake travel is
too great or there is a reduc-
tion in the performance of the
system, the handbrake should
be adjusted.
Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Handbrake
To ensure the best perfor-
mance from components as
important as the power stee-
ring and the braking system,
the manufacturer selects and offers
specifi c products, only use products
recommended by PEUGEOT .
To prevent damage to the electrical
units, high pressure washing of the
engine compartment is strictly prohib-
ited .
Use the fl uid recommended by the
manufacturer.

 Open the reservoir, with the engine
at ambient temperature, the level
should always be above the MIN
mark, close to the MAX mark.
Particle emission filter - Additive reservoir (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance
of the particle emission fi lter and the
fi lling of the additive reservoir are
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer in
