Entering an address and
activating guidance
Insert the navigation CD-ROM in the
RT3 GPS audio/telephone.
Select by turning the navigator and
conirm each choice by pressing the
navigator.
Familiarisation
The last guidance address entered
appears.
Fill in the entry zones by selecting
and conirming in turn the zones
"Town" , "Street" then "N°" (the last
two zones are optional).
To enter the name of a town, select
each letter by turning the navigator or
by pressing the navigation buttons,
then conirm each letter.
The "OK" function permits conirma-
tion of the address and access to the
guidance activation function.
Select the
"Navigation - Guidance"
icon, then conirm.
Select the "Selection of a destina-
tion" icon, then conirm.
Select the "Enter an address" icon,
then conirm.
Your full address has been entered.
If you wish to store the address,
do this before activating the guid-
ance.
Otherwise, conirm the "OK" function
to gain access to the guidance activa-
tion function and follow the instruc-
tions given by the system.
Repeat these operations to enter the
"Street"
and the "N°" (the two zones
are optional).

Familiarisation
"PERSONALISATION-
CONFIGURATION"
MENU
Access to this menu enables you to "de-
ine the following vehicle parameters":
- freeing up of the driving position (ON by default),
- permanent locking of the boot on the 407 Saloon (OFF by default),
- automatic switching on of the lights (ON by default),
- automatic "follow-me-home" lighting (OFF by default),
- automatic rear wiping on engaging reverse gear on the 407 SW (ON
by default). Example 1: permanent locking of
the boot on the 407 Saloon
To activate or deactivate this func-
tion, simply follow the following con-
irmation windows.
In each window, make your selection
using the navigator then conirm by
pressing the "OK" button.
Example 2: automatic
"follow-me-home" lighting
With the automatic switching on of
the lights and the "follow-me-home"
lighting activated (boxes ticked),
when the ignition is switched off the
side lights and dipped headlamps
remain on for the period of time se-
lected: 15 s, 30 s or 60 s.

ACCESS AND STARTING
USING THE REMOTE
CONTROL KEY The key
From the driver's door this allows
you to lock or unlock the doors, the
boot and the fuel iller lap and fold
and unfold the exterior mirrors and
independently it allows you to open
or close the glove box, lock or unlock
the access to the boot via the rear
seats (407 Saloon) and switch on the
ignition.
If one of the doors or the boot is
open, the central locking does not
work.
Unfolding/folding the key
To unfold or fold the key, press button A.
The remote control ( 0523)
This carries out the same functions
as the key and partial opening of the
boot or rear screen* at a distance.
It is incorporated in the key and carries
out remote locking and unlocking.
Locking
F
Press button B.
The direction indicators come on for
approximately two seconds and the
exterior mirrors fold.
Press and hold button
B to close the
windows and sunroof automatically
in addition to locking.
Unlocking
F Press button C.
The direction indicators lash rapidly
and the exterior mirrors unfold.
The "Folding of the exterior mirrors"
function can be deactivated by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Note: if the vehicle is locked and
unlocking is activated inadvertently
without a door being opened within
the next 30 seconds, the vehicle will
lock automatically.
Unlocking and partial opening of
the boot or rear screen*
F Press button D.
This action also unlocks the doors.

Deadlocking
This renders the external and inter-
nal door controls inoperative.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.
Using the key
F
Lock the vehicle (the direction
indicators come on for approxi-
mately two seconds).
F Turning the key again within ive
seconds deadlocks the vehicle
(the direction indicators come on
for approximately two seconds).
Using the remote control
F Pressing button B locks the vehicle
(the direction indicators come on
for approximately two seconds).
F A second press within ive seconds
deadlocks the vehicle (the direction
indicators come on for approxi-
mately two seconds).
LOCKING/UNLOCKING FROM
THE INSIDE
F Press the button.
This allows the doors and the boot to
be locked or unlocked.
If the vehicle is deadlocked, the but-
ton is not active. In this case, use the
key or the remote control to unlock.
Automatic central locking of the
doors
The doors can lock automatically
while driving (speed above 6 mph
[10 km/h]).
Press and hold the button to activate
or deactivate this function.
Note: driving with the doors locked
may make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
services more dificult in an emer-
gency.
KEY IN IGNITION
A buzzer sounds on opening the
driver's door, if the key has been left
in the ignition.
LOCATING YOUR VEHICLE
To locate your vehicle, if you have
locked or deadlocked it, in a car
park:
F press button
B on the remote con-
trol, the courtesy lights come on
and the direction indicators lash
for a few seconds. Access and starting
Permanent locking of the boot
You can activate or deactivate this
function by passing via the "personali-
sation-coniguration" menu to "Deine
the vehicle parameters" on the multi-
function display.

CHANGING THE REMOTE
CONTROL BATTERY
The information is given by an audi-
ble signal accompanied by a mes-
sage on the multifunction display or
by the
service indicator light.
REPROGRAMMING THE
REMOTE CONTROL
F Switch off the ignition.
F Switch the ignition on again.
F Press the remote control locking
button immediately for a few sec-
onds.
F Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote control
is now working again.
ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system as
soon as the ignition has been switched
off and therefore prevents starting of the
vehicle by anyone who does not have
the key.
The ignition key has an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the ig-
nition is switched on, the code must be
recognised for starting to be possible.
If the system does not function
correctly, the following indicator light
comes on:
To change the battery, unclip the
casing using a coin at the notch
(CR 1620/3 volt battery).
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
re-program the remote control. Service indicator
light

or
It is accompanied by a message on

Your vehicle will not start.

CONFIDENTIAL CARD
This is given to you on delivery of
your vehicle with the duplicate keys.
Keep your card in a safe place,
never inside the vehicle.

The conidential card contains the
identiication code necessary for any
work carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer on the electronic immobiliser
system. This code is hidden by a
ilm, which should be removed only
if necessary.
CHILD LOCK ON THE DOORS
Manual mode
This prevents each of the rear doors
from being opened from inside.
F Turn the switch on the edge of the
door a quarter of a turn using the
ignition key.
A message* appears on the display,
if the two rear doors are locked.
Electric mode
This prevents opening of both of the
rear doors from the inside.
With the ignition on, press the button.
A message appears on the multi-
function display.
Warning: this system is independent
of the central locking control.
Always remove the ignition key
when leaving the vehicle, even for
a short time.

the only ones which can start the
vehicle.
Do not make any modiications to
the electronic engine immobiliser
system.
