OPERATION WARNING LIGHTS
Anti-lock braking system
(ABS) warning light
This should go out after a
few seconds.
If the warning light remains on
or comes on above 8 mph (12 km/h),
accompanied by an audible signal and
a message on the multifunction display,
this indicates a malfunction of the ABS.
However, the vehicle retains conven-
tional servo-assisted braking.
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Emission control system
warning light
This should go out a few sec-
onds after the engine starts.
With the engine running, if
the warning light l ashes or comes on
permanently, this indicates a malfunc-
tion of the emission control system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible. Passenger air bag
disarmed warning light *
This should go out after a
few seconds.
The lighting of this warning light is ac-
companied by a message on the mul-
tifunction display.
If the passenger air bag is disarmed,
the warning light comes on when the
ignition is switched on and remains on
throughout the duration of disarming.
In all cases, if the warning light l ash-
es, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Low fuel level
warning light
This should go out af-
ter a few seconds.
The lighting of this
warning light is accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
When the warning light comes on, you
have enough fuel left to drive approxi-
mately 30 miles (50 km) (the capacity of
the fuel tank is approximately 80 litres).
Handbrake, low brake
l uid level and electronic
brake force distribution
warning light
This light should go out after
a few seconds.
If the warning light remains on, or if it
comes on when the engine is running,
it indicates:
- an excessive drop in the brake l u- id level, if linked with the low brake
l uid level warning light on the in-
strument panel display,
- a malfunction of the electronic brake force distribution, if linked
with the STOP warning light on the
instrument panel display,

moving, if linked with the hand-

Seat belt not fastened/
unfastened warning light
With the vehicle stationary,
when the ignition is switched
on, the warning light comes
on if the driver and/or the front
passenger has not fastened his seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h)
and for two minutes, the warning light
l ashes accompanied by an increas-
ingly loud audible signal. Once these
two minutes have elapsed, the warn-
ing light remains on until the driver or
front passenger fastens his seat belt.
When the vehicle is moving, the warn-
ing light comes on if the driver or one
of the front or rear passengers unfas-
tens his seat belt.
Diesel engine pre-heating
warning light
If the temperature is sufi -
cient, the warning light does
not come on and you can
start without waiting.
If the warning light comes on, wait
until it goes out before operating the
starter.
If no malfunction has been
detected: the CHECK OK
indicator light comes on af-
ter two seconds (following a
black screen), in the absence
of indicator lights showing the status
of vehicle functions. If these indicator
lights are present, the CHECK OK in-
dicator light will come on after these.

You may start your vehicle.

If a "minor" malfunction has been
detected: the warning light for the
faulty function comes on. Certain in-
dicator lights showing the status of
vehicle functions may also come on,
followed by the CHECK OK indicator
light.

You can start your vehicle; however,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.

If a "major" malfunction has been
detected: the corresponding warning
light comes on. Certain indicator lights
showing the status of vehicle functions
may also come on. The CHECK OK
indicator light does not come on.

Do not start your vehicle.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Following this, the following

INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY SERVICE INDICATOR
This is a visual reminder of when the
next service is due. This service is to
be carried out according to the manu-
facturer's servicing schedule.
The point at which the service is due is
calculated from the last indicator zero re-
set. It is determined by two parameters:
- the distance travelled,
- the time elapsed since the last service.

Note: the distance remaining before
the next service is due may be weight-
ed by the time factor.
The service information appears on
the display, located in the speedo-me-
ter dial, at the same time as the en-
gine oil level on the instrument panel
display. Operation
As soon as the ignition is switched on
and for 7 seconds, the spanner sym-
bolising the servicing operations is lit.
The trip recorder display shows the
distance remaining (in round i gures)
before the next service.

Example: 4,800 miles/km remain be-
fore the next service is due. When the
ignition comes on and for 7 seconds
the display indicates:
7 seconds after the ignition is switched
on, the total distance recorder resumes
normal operation and the display
shows the total and trip distances.
After switching on the ignition, two
functions are shown in succession:
- service indicator,
- total distance recorder (total and
trip distances).

Note: the total and trip distances are
displayed for 30 seconds when the
ignition is switched off, on opening the
driver’s door, as well as on locking and
unlocking the vehicle.
