INDICATOR LIGHTS
With the ignition on, initially,
the following warning lights
illuminate on the instrument
panel:
Anti-lock braking system
(ABS) warning light
This should go out after a
few seconds.
If the warning light remains on
or comes on above 8 mph (12 km/h),
accompanied by an audible signal and
a message on the multifunction display,
this indicates a malfunction of the ABS.
However, the vehicle retains conven-
tional servo-assisted braking.
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Emission control system
warning light
This should go out a few sec-
onds after the engine starts.
With the engine running, if
the warning light flashes or comes on
permanently, this indicates a malfunc-
tion of the emission control system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible. Passenger air bag
disarmed warning light*
This should go out after a
few seconds.
The lighting of this warning light is
accompanied by a message on the
multifunction display.
If the passenger air bag is disarmed,
the warning light comes on when the
ignition is switched on and remains on
throughout the duration of disarming.
In all cases, if the warning light flashes,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Low fuel level
warning light
This should go out
after a few seconds.
The lighting of this
warning light is accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
When the warning light comes on, you
have enough fuel left to drive approxi-
mately 30 miles (50 km) (the capac-
ity of the fuel tank is approximately 80
litres).
Handbrake, low brake
fluid level and electronic
brake force distribution
warning light
This light should go out after
a few seconds.
If the warning light remains on, or if it
comes on when the engine is running,
it indicates:
- an excessive drop in the brake fluid level, if linked with the low brake fluid
level warning light on the instrument
panel display,
- a malfunction of the electronic brake force distribution, if linked with the
STOP warning light on the instru-
ment panel display,
- an applied or incorrectly released handbrake, when the vehicle is mov-
ing, if linked with the handbrake
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
In the first two cases, stop immedi-
ately. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
* According to country.

Driver's seat belt not
fastened warning light
When the ignition is switched
on, the warning light comes
on if the driver has not fas-
tened his seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h)
and for two minutes, the warning light
flashes accompanied by an increas-
ingly loud audible signal. Once these
two minutes have elapsed, the warn-
ing light remains on until the driver fas-
tens his seat belt.
Diesel engine pre-heating
warning light
If the temperature is suffi-
cient, the warning light does
not come on and you can
start without waiting.
If the warning light comes on, wait
until it goes out before operating the
starter. If no malfunction has been
detected:
the CHECK OK
indicator light comes on after
two seconds (following a
black screen), in the absence
of indicator lights showing the status
of vehicle functions. If these indica-
tor lights are present, the CHECK OK
button will come on after these.

You may start your vehicle.
If a 'minor' malfunction has been
detected: the warning light for the
faulty function comes on. Certain
indicator lights showing the status of
vehicle functions may also come on,
followed by the CHECK OK indicator
light.
You can start your vehicle; however,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
If a 'major' malfunction has been
detected: the corresponding warning
light comes on. Certain indicator lights
showing the status of vehicle functions
may also come on. The CHECK OK
indicator light does not come on.
Do not start your vehicle.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Following this, the following
information appears on the
instrument panel display:
The engine oil level appears for
approximately 7 seconds; at the same
time, the service indicator appears on
the display located in the speedometer
dial for approximately 7 seconds.
Then, the status of the tyre pressures
is indicated for approximately 5 sec-
onds.
With the ignition on, the vehicle
carries out an automatic
test which appears on the
instrument panel display:

Manual test of the vehicleEntering CHECK mode
indicator light
This comes on following
pressing of the "CHECK"
button.
Exiting CHECK mode
indicator light
This comes on at the end of
the CHECK
mode. With the engine running
and the vehicle moving, the
instrument panel display
temporarily shows:
- warning lights, when a fault occurs,
- vehicle function status indicator
lights, when a change occurs.
The display of certain warning lights
may be accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multi-
function display.
 Press the "CHECK" button on the
instrument panel.
You can start a test of the vehicle man-
ually, at any time, with the ignition on,
engine running or vehicle moving.
This enables you to know:
- the warnings present,
- the status of the functions which can be activated or deactivated (auto-
matic wipers, automatic switching on
of the lights, ESP, ...).
The associated warning lights are
displayed in succession on the instru-
ment panel display.
If a warning or a change of status
occurs during the CHECK mode, the
corresponding warning light(s) are
displayed during this mode and the
CHECK will cease.
