The satellite navigation system guides you, by means of
(graphics), to
your chosen destination. The heart of the system lies in the use of a map data base and !

this system you can fix the positionof your vehicle by means of a satel-lite network. The system uses the following ele- ments:
– the CD-Rom drive,
– the configuration CD-Rom,
– the navigation CD-Rom,

– choice of the type of destination address (entering of address, ser- vice, GPS co-ordinates, storedaddress),
– modification to the initial route (entering of a diversion)
– displaying of the chosen destina- tion
– setting of the guidance options parameters,
– stop or resume guidance (display- ing of the message which changesdepending on the previous status).

entering a postal address,
selecting a service available in atown (town hall, hotel, cinema, air-port...),
entering GPS details,
selecting a destination stored in
the directory,
selecting one of the last ten desti-nations.

Entering the first letter of the name of the town required will erase that ofthe town displayed.
To enter the name of another town, select each letter by turning the dial,then validate each letter by pressingthe dial. If an error is made entering the let- ters, the 8*&8 function permits
erasing of the last letter entered.
&7 following the validation of a
letter, only those which could make up a name existing in the database
appear. As letters are entered, the 8 8
function indicates the number of towns beginning with the same
letters. Activation of this function permits selection of a town from thelist. When the list contains fewer than fivenames, these are displayed automat-
ically. Select a town then validate bypressing the dial. When the complete name of the town is displayed, select the
8<8
function then confirm by pressing thedial.

entered, you can confirm by pressing 8<8 . You will then be guided to the
centre of this town automatically.

– stopping or resuming of guidance (displaying of the message whichchanges depending on the previousstatus).

A 8D'8 function enables you to
enlarge the map, in accordance withthe eleven preset levels relating tothe following scales:
– 100 m/cm, 200 m/cm, 500 m/cm,

– 10 km/cm, 20 km/cm, 50 km/cm,
– 100 km/cm, 200 km/cm. This is achieved by turning the dial.
