OVERVIEW

11
RCZ_en_Chap00c_eco-conduite_ed01-2015
LIMIT THE CAUSES OF EXCESS
CONSUMPTION
Spread loads throughout the vehicle; place the heaviest items in the
bottom of the boot, as close as possible to the rear seats.
Limit the loads carried in the vehicle and reduce wind resistance (roof\

bars, roof rack, bicycle carrier, trailer...). Use a roof box in preference.
Remove roof bars and roof racks after use.
At
the end of winter, remove snow tyres and refit your summer tyres.
OBSERVE THE RECOMMENdATIONS ON
MAINTENANCE
Check the tyre pressures regularly, when cold, referring to the label in
the door aperture, driver's side.
Carry out this check in particular:
-

before a long journey
,
-

at each change of season,
-

after a long period out of use.
Don't forget the spare wheel and the tyres on any trailer or caravan.
Have

your vehicle serviced regularly (engine oil, oil filter, air filter,
passenger

compartment filter...) and observe the schedule of
operations recommended in the warranty and maintenance record.
When refuelling, do not continue after the third cut-of

f of the nozzle to
avoid
any overflow.
At
the wheel of your new vehicle, it is only after the first 1 800 miles

(3 000 kilometres) that you will see the fuel consumption settle down \
to a consistent average.

If
it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT

with the
needle in the
red zone,
accompanied by
an audible signal
and a message.When

it first comes on there
remains approximately 5 litres

of
fuel in the tank.
At this point, you begin to use the
fuel reserve. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
Until
sufficient fuel has been added, this warning lamp
will come on every time the ignition is switched on,
accompanied by an audible signal and a message.
The audible signal and message are repeated with
increasing

frequency as the fuel level drops towards
"0"
.
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 55 litres.
Never continue to drive until you run out of fuel, as this
could damage the emission control and injection systems.

lamp is on CauseAction / Observations
Service on temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred for
which there is no specific warning
lamp.
Identify the fault by reading the message shown in the
screen, such as, for example:
-

opening of the doors, boot or bonnet,
-

low engine oil level,
-

low screenwash level,
-
flat remote control battery,
- saturation of the particle emission filter (Diesel)
As soon as traffic conditions permit, regenerate the
filter

by driving at a speed of at least 36 mph (60 km/h)
until the service warning lamp goes of

COOLANT TEMPERATURE IN d ICATOR
With the engine running, when the needle is:
-

in zone
A, the temperature is correct,
-

in zone
B, the temperature is too high; the maximum temperature
warning lamp and the central STOP warning lamp come on,
accompanied by an audible signal and the display of an alert
message.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off the engine.
Contact
a PEUGEOT

dealer or a qualified workshop.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL IN d ICATOR
This information is displayed for a few seconds when the ignition is
switched on, at the same time as the service information.
The check of this level is only valid if the vehicle is on a level
surface, with the engine having been off for more than 30 minutes.
After driving for a few minutes, the temperature and pressure in the
cooling system increase.
To top up the level:
F

wait for the engine to cool,
F

unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop,
F

when the pressure has dropped, remove the cap,
F

top up the level to the "MA
x " mark.

Refer to the "Checking levels" section. This

is indicated by the flashing of
"OIL--"
or the appearance of an alert
message in the instrument panel.
Contact a PEUGEOT

dealer or a qualified workshop.
In the event of a fault with the electric gauge, the oil level is no lon\
