Key-operated airbag deactivation deviceIf you decide to put a child seat in the passenger's
front seat, then you must order the key-operated
airbag deactivation device as an After Sales op-
tion. It is not standard equipment on this vehicle.
This device is the only way to deactivate the air-
bag.
fPlease observe the chapter “KEY-OPERATED
AIRBAG DEACTIVATION DEVICE” on Page 49.Children up to 9 months oldChildren of this age must be held in a restraint
system which is installed on the passenger’s seat
facing backwards.
fThe passenger’s airbag must be switched off.Children aged between 9 months and
3yearsChildren of this age are held in child restraint
systems facing forwards.
Whenever possible, these child restraint systems
should be installed on the rear seats.
fThe passenger’s airbag must be switched off
when these systems are used on the
passenger’s seat.
Children aged between 3 and 6 yearsChildren of this age are held in child restraint
systems facing forwards.
Whenever possible, these child restraint systems
should be installed on the rear seats.
fThe passenger’s airbag must be switched off
when these systems are used on the

The passenger’s airbag must be switched on
for children weighing over 59 lbs. (27 kg).Note
If a child seat with top tether is adapted for use on
the front seat, the rear right (passenger’s side) an-
chor point must be used for anchoring the top
tether. It is then not permitted for a passenger to
use the rear right (passenger’s side) seat.
