Thepaintworkofyourcarisexposedtoalltypesofmechanicalandchemicalconditions,particularlyclimaticonessuchasbrightsunlight,rain,frostandsnow.Ultravioletlight,rapidchangesintemperature,rain,snow,industrialdustandchemicaldepositsconstantlyattackthepaintwhichisonlyabletowithstandsuchexposureinthelongtermifitisgivenregularcareandattention.
Donotapplysiliconepolishestothewind-shield,windowsorconvertibletop.
Donottreatmatt-paintedcomponentswithpreservativesorpolishesasthiswillspoilthematteeffect.
Preservation
Thepaintsurfacebecomesdullovertimeduetoweathering.Itisthereforenecessarytopreservethepaintregularly.
Thiskeepsthepaintshinyandelastic.Dirtispreventedfromadheringtothepaintsurfaceandindustrialdustispreventedfrompenetratingthepaint.
Provideditiswashedandtreatedwithpreservativeregularly,thebrandnewfinishofyourvehiclewillberetainedforyearstocome.

Removetarstains,grease,oilspotsanddeadinsectsassoonaspossiblewithInsectRemover.Theycancausediscolorationifallowedtoremainonthepaintwork.
Washtheaffectedareaimmediatelyaftertreatingit.
Minorpaintdamage
Haveminorpaintdamage,suchasscratches,scoresorchipscausedbyflyingstones,repairedimmediatelybyyourauthorizedPorschedealerbeforecorrosionsetsin.
However,iftherearealreadytracesofcorrosion,theymustfirstberemovedcarefullyandthorough-ly.Coattheareawitharust-proofingprimerandfinishoffwithatopcoat.ThepaintcodeandcolornumberarefoundonthedatabankintheMainte-nancebookletandonthefillerflap.
Cleaningandpreservingengine
compartment
Theenginecompartmentandthesurfaceoftheenginearetreatedwithacorrosion-inhibitoratthefactory.
Ifdegreasingsolventsareusedtocleantheenginecompartmentortheengineiswasheddown,theprocessalmostinvariablyremovesthecorrosion-inhibitingcoating.Itisthenabsolutelynecessarytohaveadurablepreservativeappliedtoallsurfaces,bodyseams,jointsandassembliesintheenginecompartment.Thisalsoapplieswhencorrosion-inhibitorpartsarereplaced.

Theroaddustwhichsettlesonthewindshieldandwindowscontainsparticlesoftirerubberandoilresidue.Theinteriortrimandupholsteryreleaseparticles,particularlyinstrongsunlight,whichcollectontheinsidesofthewindows.Thesedepositsareaugmentedbyimpuritiesintheairwhichentersthecarthroughthefreshairvents.
Cleanallwindowsregularly,insideandoutside,withPorschewindowcleaner.
Ifyouuseachamoisleatherforthewindows,donotuseitforpaintworkasitwillotherwisepickupacertainamountofpreservativeorpolishandcouldsmearthewindowsandthusimpairvision.
RemovedeadinsectswiththePorscheinsectremover.
Note
Doorwindowsfeatureawater-repellent(hydropho-bic)coatingwhichpreventssoilingofthewindows.

Polisheswhichdissolveoxides,suchasthosefrequentlyusedforothermetals,orabrasivetoolsoragentsareunsuitablebecausetheybreakdowntheoxidelmoftheprotectivecoatingandwillcausediscolorationofthewheel.
Everythreemonths,aftercleaning,coatthewheelswithacarwaxornon-corrosivegrease(vaseline).Usingacleancloththoroughlyrubthegreaseintothesurface.
Leather
Characteristicsandspecialfeatures
Thenaturalsurfacemarkingsofleather,e.g.creases,healedscars,insectstingmarks,structuraldifferencesandslightvariationsinshadeandgrainaddtotheattractivenessofthenaturalleatherproduct.
