Toavoiddamagetotheclutchandtransmis-sion:
Alwaysdepresstheclutchpedalfullywhenchanginggears.Makesurethatthegearshiftleveriscompletelyengaged.
Onlyshiftintoreversewhenthecarhascometoacompletestop.
Whenshiftinggears,alwaysensurethattheclutchpedalisfullydepressedandthegearhasfullyengaged.
Selectreverseonlywhenvehicleisstationary.
Selectanappropriatelylowgearonupwardanddownwardslopes.Thiswillensureoptimumuseofenginepowerandenginebraking.
Whenreversegearisselectedandtheignitionison,thebackuplightsareilluminated.
Permittedenginespeed
Youshouldchangeintoahighergearbeforetheneedlereachestheredmarkonthetachometer,oreaseofftheaccelerator.
Iftheredzoneisreachedduringacceleration,fuelfeedisinterrupted.
Caution!
Riskofenginedamage(overrevving)whenshiftingdowntoalowergear.
Takecarenottoexceedthemaximumpermittedenginespeedwhenshiftingdown.
