Sometimes a single look says it all.
The Cayenne Turbo.
Porsche. Cayenne. Turbo. Really there’s
nothing further to add. However, it would
be a sin not to mention the new exterior
design: broad-shouldered and purposeful.
The new front section and new air
intakes, in particular the central one
which has been enlarged, are striking
features that clearly reflect the car’s
strength and character.
Equally distinctive is the design of the
new LED main headlights with Porsche
Dynamic Light System (PDLS), fitted as standard,
and the fog lights which also
feature LED technology. Hidden from
view, but all the more clearly felt: the
standard turbocharging system with
charge-air cooling – for enhanced engine
performance and efficiency.
A wealth of impressive details that
can be summed up in just three words:
Porsche. Cayenne. Turbo.

S.
For some, it’s just a letter.
For us, it’s an expression of enthusiasm.
The Cayenne S models.
‘S’ stands for sport. Yet sport does not
always mean sports performance. It not
only stands for motoring pleasure, but
also for a commitment. Not to power
alone, but also to abundant reserves of
power. In short: outstanding athleticism
requires high levels of efficiency.
This is demonstrated, in particular, by the
new Cayenne S E-Hybrid, which combines
two aspects that have always fired our
enthusiasm: sportiness and the future. A
parallel plug-in hybrid that boasts plenty
of agility. After all, even when it comes to
alternative drive systems, for us there is
no alternative to dynamic performance. The
Cayenne S achieves something quite
special: enhanced power – with greater
fuel economy. This is ensured by the
new 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. The
intelligent lightweight construction of
the new engine also contributes to the
impressive fuel economy. In short: the
perfect balance between output and
efficiency.
The Cayenne S Diesel brings perform ance
to the point while offering remark
able
staying power. In this long-distance ath
lete
beats the heart of a pure-bred sprinter.

Our solution for the future –
simply electrifying.
The new Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
We are only satisfied when we are not
content with being satisfied. And that
means scrutinising every aspect, again
and again. Even things that are already
well established. Such as the tried-and-
tested Porsche hybrid concept: the
vehicle can be powered by the combustion
engine alone, solely by the electric
machine or by both drive systems work-
ing in tandem. A single letter – the ‘E’ – is
now having a great impact. Through the
use of a vehicle charge port, it combines
a future-oriented drive with the compre -
hensive concept of e-mobility. From the Hybrid
we’ve developed the E-Hybrid –
one of the first parallel plug-in hybrid
models in the SUV segment.
The high-voltage battery with lithium-ion
technology has an energy capacit y of
10.8 kWh and can be charged using a
conventional socket in approx. 2.7 hours.

The bat tery is maintenance-free and
comes with a six year warranty.
In everyday driving situations, the
Cayenne S E-Hybrid can t ypically cover

the practical charging equipment. Thanks
to the optional on-board charger
3) with
7.2 kW, you can conveniently charge your
car using the charging cable. With the
on-board charger, the charging time
1) is
reduced to 1.3 hours. For charging at
home, there’s the standard Porsche
universal charger (AC) with charging
dock.
Another giant leap forward. For the
Cayenne and for you. Right into the
future.
1) Charging time: approx. 1.3 hrs with 7.2- kW on - board charger/approx. 2.7 hrs with 3.6 - kW charger.2) The range of values is dependent on the driving st yle, traf fic situation, route profile, ambient temperature, usage
of auxiliar y electrical devices (e.g. heating) and number of passengers or load. This may result in the range of
values being reduced. The maximum figure was determined in the standard cycle (NEDC), which enables a
comparison bet ween manufacturers.

The drive system of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
We are moving into the future in a progressive and dynamic way. A specially defined
pressure point on the accelerator pedal signals the switch between all-electric mode
to driving powered by the combustion engine. The combustion engine is fired up when
necessary or when the accelerator is depressed beyond the pressure point. The
electric motor provides an additional boost. In coasting mode, the combustion
engine is decoupled and switched off, allowing the Cayenne S E-Hybrid to glide for
some distance under its own momentum – for a significant reduction in fuel
consumption without any compromise in terms of sports performance.

The drive system of the Cayenne S Diesel.
At 850 Nm of torque, the Cayenne S Diesel is the diesel model with the highest torque
ever to bear the Porsche Crest, which in itself makes it something quite special. The
4.2-litre V8 turbo-diesel unit owes its power to technologies such as the standard
direct fuel injection with common-rail injection system. Performance that you can feel
and hear: in a sound that really gets under your skin. Typically Porsche.

The greatest success stories are the ones
that endure.
The Cayenne Diesel.
It’s great when the dream of a sports
car can also go the distance: the
Cayenne Diesel. With enhanced
performance and fuel economy. In
the Cayenne Diesel, you can drive
responsibly – without having to
compromise on enjoyment behind
the wheel.
The piezoelectric injectors enable
multiple injections at a pressure of up to
2,000 bar, ensuring optimum distribution
of the air/fuel mixture – for improved dynamics.
Other performance-enhancing
technologies include Variable Turbine
Geometry (VTG). Combined with the
channelling of the intake air, this ensures
a particularly high charging effect,
thereby generating impressive torque,
even at low engine speeds.
As a diesel too, the Cayenne continues
its sporty success story. Bridging the gap
between dynamic agility and efficiency,
and packed full of enthusiasm. Not only
on longer journeys.

A drive system that sets one thing racing above all else:
your heart.
Transmission.
8-speed Tiptronic S.
Thanks to a particularly wide ratio spread,
the 8-speed Tiptronic S lowers fuel
consumption – and increases comfort
and dynamic agility. The low engine
speeds in the higher gears reduce the
noise level inside the vehicle. The 8-speed
Tiptronic S shifts gear automatically and
adapts to your individual driving st yle.
New features include the extended auto
start/stop function. This cuts the engine
not only when the vehicle stops, but also
if you are approaching traffic lights, for
example.
Coasting.
Other energy-saving technologies include
the ability to coast along in certain
situations, e.g. when you take your foot
off the accelerator pedal to reduce your
speed slowly. The engine is decoupled
from the transmission and slowed to idle
speed to prevent deceleration caused by
engine braking. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid
goes one step further: it can switch the
combustion engine off completely while
driving.
Porsche Traction Management (PTM).
PTM comprises an active all-wheel drive
system with an electronically variable,
map-controlled multi-plate clutch,
automatic brake differential (ABD) and
anti-slip regulation (ASR).
The electronically controlled multi-plate
clutch helps to ensure optimum distribu -
tion of force between the permanently
driven rear axle and the front axle. The
driving conditions are continuously
monitored to enable the system to
respond to a variety of situations. During
cornering, the required level of engine
torque is distributed to the front wheels to
provide excellent lateral stability. The
result: perfect distribution of drive torque
at all times.
PTM on the Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S
E-Hybrid features a permanent all-wheel
drive system with self-locking centre
differential. This provides a standard
torque split of 60 % to the rear and 40 %
to the front. If one of the wheels is about
to lose grip, the self-locking centre
differential transmits the torque to the
axle offering the highest level of traction.
Variable distribution of engine torque to
the rear wheels also enhances steering
precision and driving dynamics.
