applied to our SUV concept hasyielded one of the most advanced
production vehicles of its kind. It’s
a perfect blend of exhilaration and
control born of simple, powerful
ideas taken to their extremes.
Culminating in an SUV only Porsche
could build.The designs and engineering
behind the Porsche Cayenne
are derived from decades of race
bred innovations tested in rallys
through some of the most grueling
climates and conditions on the
planet.Every Cayenne has been
endowed with legendary Porsche
onroad performance and
prowess, yet is equally capable
and reassuring when venturing offpavement.It’s a vehicle that can take you
from a primitive dirt road to the
bright lights of the theater district
with equal amounts of competence,
safety and style.
Our latest Cayenne Turbo S model
features engine and turbocharging
enhancements that set new
benchmarks for horsepower and
torque. Improvements to the drive
system and chassis offer moreunwavering control and a more
dynamic experience. Each
technical improvement brings a corresponding increase in
passion felt behind the wheel.

transfer of turbo technologies from
our dominating 917 racecars onto
the roadway, we unveil the quickest,

The potent 4.5liter twinturbo V8
powering the Cayenne Turbo S is
more than a match for many high
performance cars, let alone SUVs.
Porsche engineers have succeeded
in taking what was already one of
the most technically advanced V8
engines in the world to an entirely
new level of performance.
Imagine a supercar that seats five.
Jab the throttle, and the forged
aluminum pistons respond with a
torrent of power that presses you
back in your seat.And sets your
pulse rate racing.With a full 520 hp
underfoot (a 16 % increase over
the Cayenne Turbo), you can merge
seamlessly onto the highway and
maneuver past slower traffic withease. Turn from the tarmac onto a
trail, and up to 530 lb.ft. of torque
comes eagerly into play, powering
effortlessly through deep sand and
up steep hills to find a secluded
hideaway off the beaten path.Twin turbochargers arranged in
parallel to deliver high torque at
low revs over a flat power band. A
modified throttle map in the engine
management system and larger,
more powerful intercoolers that
improve volumetric efficiency by
lowering air temperature combine
to help the new Cayenne Turbo S
sprint from 0 – 60 in 4.8 seconds.
Four specially coated valves per
cylinder controlled by our patented
VarioCam variable valve system
give the Cayenne Turbo S the
lungs of a marathon runner as
well.The system combines
variable valve timing on the inlet
side with axial adjustment of the
intake camshaft to optimize power,
torque and fuel consumption
across the entirerev range.An
advanced resonance induction
system is also employed to help
maximize the engine’sability
to breathe. While taking your
breath away.
The V8 engine’sfluid, splitsecond
precision is controlled by a robust,
highly intelligent Motronic engine
management system that balancesimpressive power with impeccable
smoothness.In mere milliseconds,
streams of data from a wide range
of engine sensors are evaluated
to make continuous, imperceptible
adjustments to key engine functions
such as the ignition or fuel injection
for optimal performance in most
typesof driving conditions.
The Cayenne Turbo S also boasts
the latest integrated drysump
lubrication system.An oil reservoir
located inside the engine conserves
space and reduces weight to help
ensure oil delivery precisely where
it’s needed during spirited driving.Lightweight aluminumalloy engine
components go even further to
cheat gravity and dissipate heat
moreefficiently,adding yet another
dimension to the dynamic Porsche
driving experience.

Wrapped in a familiar Porsche skin,
the lightweight chassis helps you
duck through corners with ease or
negotiate naturally thrilling terrain
with confidence.Afully independent
suspension similar to the Cayenne
Turbo’s combines largeformat
double wishbones on the front
wheels with multilink geometryat
the rear to offer the familiar
Porsche blend of agility and
precision. To cope with the extra
power of the Turbo S, precision
modifications have been made to anumber of front axle components
such as the tie rods,wishbone
mounts and shock units.
Added to these enhancements is
the revised management software
for the pneumatic suspension
system.Porsche Active Suspension
Management helps each wheel stick
to the earth independently of the
others by continuously monitoring
your style of driving and constantly
adjusting damping force based on
road conditions or driving dynamics.The Cayenne Turbo braking system
has also been upgraded on the
TurboS.Standard 20 inches Cayenne
SportTechno wheels are fitted in
the front with sixpiston monobloc
aluminum calipers and larger
(19 inches diameter), thicker
1.5
inchesinternally vented discs.
Specially designed cooling ducts
aid front brake
ventilation,while
fourpiston monobloc
calipers clamp
14.09 inches internally ventilated
rear discs in tandem with fourchannel
ABS for unwilting stopping power.

The fusion of SUV versatility and
sports car performance is clearly
seen, and more importantly felt,
in a sixspeed Tiptronic S
transmission that transforms the
torque of the Cayenne Turbo S
engine into a controlled delivery of
power in all terrain. While tailoring
shift points to your particular style
of driving at the same time.
In automatic mode, the Tiptronic S
computerized shift map makes the
kind of decisions you’d make if you
possessed more than 50 years of
racing experience.It seamlessly
finds the gear you need while
continually monitoring engine
and driving conditions.Manual mode lets you take control
of your gear selection using rocker
switches on the steering wheel or
the center console shift lever.
Channeling power where it creates
the most adrenaline is a Porsche
trademark the Cayenne Turbo S
takes to a new level with one of the
most sophisticated drivetrains ever
developed for a production SUV.A permanent allwheel drive system
distributes power between the axles
using a standard38/62 front/rear
split.This rearwheel bias,together
with Porsche Stability Management,
provides stable grip on almost any
surface.And a feel for the road
that is purePorsche.Porsche Traction Management goes
further, combining a lockable center
differential, a transfer gearbox with
automatic brake differential and
antislip regulation for added levels
of traction – and peace of mind –
as road conditions worsen.
The system uses an electronically
controlled multidisc clutch in the
center differential to optimize the
delivery of torque between the
front and rear wheels. The center
differential is specially configured
for maximum performance on paved
roads in highrange mode and
maximum traction offroad in low
rangemode.
