SINGLE HEADLIGHTS: replacing the bulbs
Main beam / dipped beam
headlights
Remove the bulb connector1.
Remove the plastic coverA.
Release the spring4and remove the
bulb.
Type of halogen bulb: H4, approved
by our Technical Department (see
box).
Never touch the glass of a halogen
bulb. Hold it by the base.
Once the bulb has been replaced,
refit the coverA.
Front side light
Turn bulb holder2a quarter turn to
reach the bulb.
Bulb type: W 5 W.
Direction indicator
Turn bulb holder3a quarter turn
and remove the bulb.
Bulb type: orange pear shaped
bulb, bayonet fitting, 21 W.
Cleaning the headlights
As the headlights have plastic
lenses, use a soft cloth or cotton
wool.
If this is not sufficient, use a soft
cloth (or cotton wool) dampened
with soapy water then rinse using a
soft cloth or cotton wool.
Carefullydry off using a soft, dry
cloth.
Alcohol based cleaning products
must not be used under any
circumstances.
As the headlights have
plastic lenses, anti-UV H4
type bulbs approved
by Renault's Technical
Department must be used.
(The headlight may be damaged if
any other type of H4 bulb is used.)
We recommend you obtain an
emergency kit including a box of
spare bulbs.

turn and remove the bulb.

make sure the bulb holder is refitted
in the correct position.

FOG LIGHTS: replacing the bulbs
• Remove the mounting bolts1.
• Remove the light unit from the
front.
• Disconnect the wires.
• Remove cover2by turning it.
• Remove the bulb connector.
• Release spring3.
• Remove the bulb.
•Holding the new bulb in a cloth or
piece of paper,slide it into its
mounting.
Type of halogen bulb: H1Adjusting the lights
Contact your Renault Dealer for
adjusting the lights.
Take care when working
under the bonnet as
the engine cooling fan
may cut in at any
moment.
Additional lights
If you wish to fit fog lights or long
range headlights to your vehicle,
consult your Renault Dealer.
Any operation on (or
modification to) the
electrical system must be
performed by a Renault
Dealer since an incorrect
connection might damage the
electrical installation (harness,
components and in particular, the
alternator). In addition, your
Dealer has available all the parts
required for fitting these units.

OPERATING INCIDENTS(continued)

• Headlights
do not work.On one side: - bulb blown. Replace the bulb.
- feed wire disconnected or connector
out of position.Check and reconnect the wire or the
connector.
- faulty earth. See above.
On both sides: - if the circuit is protected by a fuse. Check and replace the fuse if necessary.
• Traces of condensation in the lights. This is not a fault. The presence of
traces of condensation in the lights is
a natural phenomenon concerned
with variations in temperature.
These traces will disappear quickly
once the lights are in use.
