CAUTION:
Do not touch the rain sensor and around it when

The rain-sensing auto wipers are intended
for use during rain. If the switch is left in the
“AUTO” position, the wipers may operate
unexpectedly when dirt, fingerprints, oil film
or insects are stuck on or around the sensor.
The wipers may also operate when exhaust
gas or moisture affect the rain sensor.
. When the windshield glass is coated with
water repellent, the speed of the rain-sen-
sing auto wipers may be higher even though
the amount of the rainfall is small.
. Be sure to turn off the rain-sensing auto
wiper system when you use a car wash.
. The rain-sensing auto wipers may not oper-
ate if rain does not hit the rain sensor even if
it is raining.
REAR WINDOW WIPER AND WASHER
SWITCH (if equipped)

JVI0274XType BIf the rear window wiper operation is interrupted
by snow etc., the wiper may stop moving to
protect its motor. If this occurs, turn the wiper
switch to OFF and remove the snow etc. on and
around the wiper arms. In approximately 1
minute, turn the switch ON again to operate

Washer operation
To operate the washer, push the lever toward the front
of the vehi\fle*3until the desired amount of washer
fluid is spread on the rear window. The wiper will
automati\fally operate several times.

\bIC4145Type BThe rear window defogger swit\fh operates when the
ignition swit\fh is in the “ON” position.
The defogger is used to redu\fe the moisture, fog or
frost on the rear window surfa\fe and outside door
mirror surfa\fe (if equipped) to improve the rear view.
When the defogger swit\fh
*1is pushed, the indi\fator
light*2illuminates and the defogger operates for
approximately 15 minutes. After the preset time has
passed, the defogger will turn off automati\fally.
To turn off the defogger manually, push the defogger
swit\fh again.
CAUTION:
. When operating the defogger continuously,
be sure to start the engine. Otherwise, it may
cause the battery to discharge.
. When cleaning the inner side of the window,
be careful not to scratch or damage the
electrical conductors on the surface of the
window.
NOTE:
When the rear defogger is turned on, the Stop/
Start (Idling Stop) System (if equipped) will not
be activated.

The hazard indi\fator f\basher is used to warn other
drivers when you have to stop or park under
emergen\fy \fonditions.
When the hazard indi\fator f\basher swit\fh is pushed, a\b\b
turn signa\b \bights wi\b\b f\bash. To turn off the hazard
indi\fator f\basher, push the hazard indi\fator f\basher
swit\fh again.

The horn swit\fh operates with the ignition swit\fh in
any position ex\fept when the battery is dis\fharged.
When the horn swit\fh is pushed and he\bd, the horn wi\b\b

Depending on the environment or driving conditions,
the auto-reverse function may activate if an impact or
load similar to something being caught in the window

When power window switch does not oper-
ate
Some power window functions (automatic close
function, auto-reverse function) will not operate as
described after the battery cable is disconnected and
the electrical supply is interrupted\f Perform the
following procedure to initialize the power window

3. Pull up and hold the driver\fs window switch toclose the driver\fs window. \bold the switch for
approximately 3 seconds after the window has
been fully closed, and then release it.
4. Check if the power window functions operate properly.
If you open or close the power window continuously, it
may cause the power window not to operate properly.
Perform the above procedure.
If the power window functions do not operate properly
after performing the above procedure, repeat the
steps. See a RENAULT dealer, if necessary, for
checking the power window system.WARNING:
Never allow hands, fingers, or any part of your
body within operating range of the sunshade.
You could be injured.
CAUTION:
. Do not place any heavy objects on the roof
glass or surrounding area.
. Do not hang from the sunshade and/or the
sunshade opening or hang any objects from
it. It may cause damage or deformation to
the sunshade.
. Close the sunshade when you leave the
vehicle for extended periods of time to
prevent the inside of the vehicle from reach-
ing high temperatures.

To open the sunshade, slide it toward the rear of the
vehicle

front of the vehicle*2. If the battery cable is disconnected, the clock will reset

when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position.
To display the clock, push the adjusting knob

detected for 60 seconds, or can be reset by using the
adjusting knob.

The po\ber outlet is for po\bering electrical accessories
such as cellular telephone.
CAUTION:
. The outlet and plug may be hot during or
immediately after use.
. This power outlet is not designed for use
with a cigarette lighter unit.
. Do not use with accessories that exceed a 12
volt, 120W (10A) power draw. Do not use
double adapters or more than one electrical
accessory.
. Use power outlets with the engine running
to avoid discharging the vehicle battery.
. Avoid using power outlets when the air
conditioner, headlights or rear window de-
fogger is on.
. Before inserting or disconnecting a plug, be
sure to turn off the power switch of electrical
accessory being used and the ignition
switch.
. Push the plug in as far as it will go. If good
contact is not made, the plug may overheat
or the internal temperature fuse may open. .
Do not allow water to contact the outlet.
. When not in use, be sure to close the cap.

The system will be released when the door is unlocked
with the remote controller or the \fntelligent Key
“\bNLOCK” button
or the request switch.
The Super Lock System will not activate when the
doors are locked with the power door lock switch or
mechanical key.
Emergency situations
\ff the Super Lock System is activated due to a traffic
accident or other unexpected circumstances while you
are in the vehicle:
. Place the ignition switch to the “ON” position, the
Super Lock System will be released and all the
doors can be unlocked with the power door lock
switch. You can then open the doors.
. \bnlock the door using the remote controller or the
\fntelligent Key. The Super Lock System will be
released and you can open the door.

To lock the driver’s door or passenger’s door, insert the
key to the door cylinder located on the driver’s or
passenger’s side door and turn the key to the front of
the vehicle
