SEAT inspection and maintenance servicePrologueGeneral observations For assistance with your vehicle, you can rely on one of the most extensive and efficient service networks. The SEAT Authorised Service Centres employ the mos
t modern workshop
tools and equipment, as well as trained specialists and a w
ide range of spare
parts. Each SEAT Authorized Service Centre
is run using the most advanced stand-
ards, the practical value of which have been demonstrat
ed in manufacture.
SEAT has worked thoroughly and made every effort
 to ensure that the design
of every new vehicle employs the benefits of its
research into the levels of
safety, reliability and resistance that are demanded. Many SEAT Authorised Service Centres also offer d
ifferent services at favour-
able rates. To inform you of the jobs that are required before each
 service, there is a diag-
nosis carried out via an inspection, whic
h will give information on the amount
of maintenance work that is required. In this way, you can know the cost (in ma
terial and labour) that is involved in
the work which has been indicated, because each In
spection and Mainte-
nance Service, as well as each operation to be un
dertaken has an established
time which you will be invoiced for. This also allows you to know when the work will be f
inished, or when the
vehicle will be ready for delivery. In order to mai
ntain this quality, it is impor-
tant that the vehicle is inspected regularly by an Authori
sed Service Centre.
Importance of the inspection and maintenance plan The inspection and maintenance plan is also the proof of the delivery date, and so indicates the period when your vehicle guarantee begins.Through the vehicle data indicated in this manual, it
is guaranteed that the
vehicle is fitted with the correct spare parts, and th
us ensuring that repairing
the vehicle will not present any problem, no matter ho
w much time has
passed. This inspection and maintenance plan
will also indicate which services and
jobs need to be done in any given time. The proof of service is one of the requirements t
o maintain the validity of the
guarantee. It is a good idea to keep the inspection and maint
enance plan together with
the vehicle documents, so that it is always availableIf the vehicle is sold, the inspection and maintenance
plan should be passed
on to the new owner.Service intervalsTo ensure that the appropriate services are carried out
 on time, we recom-
mend that a sticker be placed on the door pillar, and the ser
vice interval indi-
cator on the instrument panel. Besides this, you can c
heck the dates of the
next service by consulting the co
rresponding boxes in this manual
Œpage 17.The intervals indicated refer to
 normal service conditions.

Under
adverse circumstances
some jobs will be required between these inter-
vals. This is especially true of
changing the engine oil
, when the vehicle is
constantly used for short journeys or th
e temperatures are very low; similarly,
the cleaning or substitution of the cartridge of the air f
ilter, the pollen and
dust filter and the checking and changing of the
drive belt when the vehicle
is used in areas with a lot of dust.If you use biodiesel fuel or fuel which
does not meet the DIN EN 590 standard,
you will have to clean the fuel filt
er every 15,000 km, and substitute it at
30,000 km. Some countries use diesel fuel with a high sulphur
content In these cases, an
oil change will be required after 7,500 km The Author
ised Service Centre will
inform you which countries use fuel with a high sulphur c
ontent.
The person responsible for the Authorised Service C
entre will inform you of
the need to carry out these jobs between the normal servic
e interval, taking
the conditions of use of the vehicle into considerati
on.
On the following pages, we have compiled information on what
 is necessary
in each programmed inspection service The jobs
 that are listed are appro-
priate for the technical requirements at the time of printin
g. Therefore, they
may be modified hereafte
r for technical reasons.
Your Authorised Service Centre will inform you on
this point, as well as any
need for additional services, and any work required by la
w.
Your Authorised Service Centre will inform you of th
e cost (material and
labour) for each of the inspection and maintenanc
e services contained in this
plan.
