Audio ModeThe DAB radio tuner admits transmission
standards DAB, DAB+ and DMB audio.
In Europe, digital radio broadcasts on the band III frequencies (174 MHz to 240 MHz)
and band L (1,452 MHz to 1,492 MHz).
The frequencies of the two bands are refer-
red to as “ channels” and have a channel
name (e.g. 12
A
).
Several available DAB stations with additional
services are combined into one channel in an
“ ensemble ”.
DAB is currently not available in all areas . In
areas without DAB,  is displayed in DAB ra-
dio mode. In this case, it is possible to change to an FM station from system and function
settings

Operation of speed-dependent volume in- crease
The speed-dependent volume adjustment automatically changes the volume based onthe speed of the vehicle .
The volume increase can be adjusted be- tween 1
and 7
.
If the level selected is low, the volume will on- ly increase slightly when the speed increases;if it is high, the volume will increase signifi-cantly. At 0
the speed-dependent volume in-
crease volume is off.
Operation of DAB-FMLINK
If reception of the currently selected DAB sta- tion is lost (e.g. no DAB reception availableany more), the unit attempts to find the sta-tion and tune to it on the FM frequency range.
Automatic station tracking on all frequenciesonly works if the DAB station and the FM sta-
tion broadcast the same station identifier or the DAB signal indicates the correspondingFM station.
Once the corresponding FM station has been found, (FM)
is displayed after the station
name. When reception for the corresponding DAB station returns, after a short time the unit
will switch back to DAB mode.
If the signal is too weak and the DAB station cannot be found again on the FM band, the
radio sound is muted.25
